<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Samsung</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> has also shared a few photos of the Flex Note designs via its online newsroom. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Looking at the photos, it seems that the Flex Note design resembles that of a folding notebook and tablet hybrid. It features the same design we see on the current Galaxy Z Fold series like the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold3-5g/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Z Fold 3</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, albeit with a bigger screen for laptop use. It seems that the device is running on Windows as well, as the Windows start Menu logo is shown in the bottom left corner of the device.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The notable feature of the design is that when unfolded, during media consumption, the keyboard can disappear to allow for more screen real estate when watching videos, something you are not able to do when using conventional laptops with hardware keys. </span></p>
<figure id="attachment_460446" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-460446" style="width: 1920px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-460446" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-3.png?x10805" alt="Samsung Flex Note 3" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-3.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-3-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-3-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-3-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-3-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-3-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-3-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-460446" class="wp-caption-text">Source: Samsung Newsroom</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Another benefit of the design seems to be customisation, as shown in the physical demos, users can customise the keyboard to be an RGB keyboard, or a younger pastel coloured one, with a simple walkthrough of the settings menu.</span></p>
<figure id="attachment_460447" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-460447" style="width: 951px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-460447" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung Flex Note-2" width="951" height="535" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-2.jpg 951w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-2-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-2-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Samsung-Flex-Note-2-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 951px) 100vw, 951px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-460447" class="wp-caption-text">Customisable Keyboard Comparison</figcaption></figure>

Now, a new 3D concept render based on this design has surfaced, with the device being dubbed as the Galaxy Z Fold Note.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-417337 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/samsung-z-fold-770x588.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="770" height="588" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/samsung-z-fold-770x588.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/samsung-z-fold-770x588-300x229.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/samsung-z-fold-770x588-768x586.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/samsung-z-fold-770x588-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/samsung-z-fold-770x588-696x531.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/samsung-z-fold-770x588-550x420.jpg 550w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /></p>
<p>According to <a href="https://nl.letsgodigital.org/opvouwbare-telefoons/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-note/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>LetsGoDigital</em></a>, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/TechnizoConcept" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Technizo Concept</a> made a series of 3D concept renders based on the patent images of the foldable smartphone patent. While the original patent mainly described the display and left out the finer details, the 3D concept features a complete camera module on the rear. We had initially called this device the Galaxy Flex Note based on the trademark, but the latest renders have been referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold Note.</p>
<p>Looking at the design of this handset, it becomes clear why &#8220;Note&#8221; is included in its name as it features support for an S Pen that has a unique housing. With the display being a foldable wrap around display that covers the back as well, the S Pen is housed in a small magnetic housing on the back of the display. So when the display is in its unfolded state, one can take out the S Pen to use it in its tablet form.</p>

<p>Meaning, the stylus is sandwiched in the display in its compact form. The wrap around display accounts for half of the total surface area on the back while the rear camera module houses multiple image sensors. As of right now, it is unclear if Samsung is actually working on such a product or is just covering all bases.</p>

But a new trademark and patent hints that the Note lineup will be seeing a major update in terms of design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-414048 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-flex-note-770x449.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="770" height="449" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-flex-note-770x449.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-flex-note-770x449-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-flex-note-770x449-768x448.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-flex-note-770x449-696x406.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-flex-note-770x449-720x420.jpg 720w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /></p>
<p>According to a <a href="https://nl.letsgodigital.org/opvouwbare-telefoons/samsung-galaxy-flex-note/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>LetsGoDigital</em> </a>report, the South Korean tech giant&#8217;s display unit had filed a trademark for the name &#8216;Flex Note&#8217; and also a design patent with the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration). The patent describes a smartphone with a large display that can fold outward and wrap around the device. In its compact form, the device would resemble a regular smartphone from the front, with its large display folding and wrapping around to the back from the right side. Looking at the compact form from the back, the wrap around display covers around half of the rear panel.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-414049 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-galaxy-flex-note-s-pen-770x578.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="770" height="578" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-galaxy-flex-note-s-pen-770x578.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-galaxy-flex-note-s-pen-770x578-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-galaxy-flex-note-s-pen-770x578-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-galaxy-flex-note-s-pen-770x578-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-galaxy-flex-note-s-pen-770x578-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-galaxy-flex-note-s-pen-770x578-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung-galaxy-flex-note-s-pen-770x578-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /></p>
<p>Users can unfold this display, which would make the total screen size of the smartphone larger. This would make it resemble a tablet from the front. Another unique aspect about its design is the inclusion of a recess for the S Pen stylus. In other words, the device will arrive with S Pen support and a special magnetic housing as well. Notably, the device is equal in terms of thickness when in its compact form. However, when the display is unfolded, there is a noticeable difference between one half of the rear panel and the other side which houses the folding wrap around display.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-414050 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung_galaxy_note-770x508.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="770" height="508" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung_galaxy_note-770x508.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung_galaxy_note-770x508-300x198.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung_galaxy_note-770x508-768x507.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung_galaxy_note-770x508-696x459.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/samsung_galaxy_note-770x508-637x420.jpg 637w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /></p>
<p>Although, this difference in thickness also serves a purpose as the magnetic housing for the S Pen is in the region behind the folding screen. So when the display folds the S Pen can be housed securely and can be removed when needed in its tablet form. Another interesting aspect is that the rear camera module is not detailed in the patent sketches, but the company does include dual cameras underneath the display that is on the top right corner, which makes it capable of taking both selfies in tablet form and serve as a primary sensor in its compact form. At the moment, it is unknown if the company is actually working on such a product or covering all bases. So stay tuned for more updates.</p>
