The smartphone has already leaked via multiple rumours and leaks. It is expected to feature exceptional hardware at a very affordable price tag. In today’s article, we will compare the upcoming Oukitel C21 with the Samsung Galaxy M01s smartphone to get a better glimpse at its specifications and features.

Both smartphones possess some great features and they compete neck-to-neck against each other. Let’s have a detailed analysis of each aspect present on the device.

Display

Oukitel C21 comes with a massive 6.4-inch Full HD Display whereas the Galaxy M01s houses a 6.2-inch HD+ display. The presence of punch-hole display on Oukitel C21 smartphone gives it a more visual appeal and improves the experience, while the waterdrop display also looks better on Galaxy M01s.

Hardware

Oukitel C21 is powered with Helio P60 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The new MediaTek chipset offers much better performance than the MediaTek P22 chipset which is present on the Galaxy M01s smartphone. Moreover, the smartphone houses a 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There’s a massive difference in the performance of both the devices.

The Galaxy M01s runs on Android 9 Pie-based One UI which carries bloatware too. On the other hand, Oukitel C21 runs on stock-Android 10 like experience carrying all the new improved dark mode, better security and permission controls.

Camera

Oukitel C21 packs a quad-rear matrix camera module for quality and better photography. There’s also a macro lens which can capture detailed photos of small and nearby objects. A 20-megapixel AI selfie camera is present on the front side for better selfies and video calling. However, the Samsung Galaxy M01s features a dual rear camera featuring 13-megapixel primary sensors and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Oukitel C21 is expected to feature a much affordable price than the Samsung Galaxy M01s. It will be priced at less than $100. The interested users can even join the giveaway campaign to grab the smartphone for free. Oukitel will announce the pricing and other details on August 11.

Design

When you look for an entry-level device, you should not focus on the design that much. These devices all come with a polycarbonate body and they do not offer premium materials. But on the other hand, their designs are all but ugly. They come with narrow bezels around the display and modern looks, as well as decent build quality. I like the Realme C15 due to its higher screen-to-body ratio, and it even offers the Gorilla Glass protection by Corning for the display. But it is all about tastes: which design would you pick?

Display

Given that the Samsung Galaxy M01s sports a PLS display, we doubt it will reach the level of the Realme C15. The Realme C15 and the Redmi 9C come with IPS panel and they offer a slightly better image quality. They have the same resolution and a similar size, you should only notice marginal differences between their quality. They are below-average IPS panels, do not expect a high definition and a great color accuracy, as the specs on the paper suggest.

Specs & Software

The most powerful hardware department belongs to the Realme C15: it sports the Helio G35 chipset by MediaTek which has pretty good CPU and GPU performance, as well as up to 4 GB of RAM. You get the Helio G35 SoC on the Redmi 9C as well, but it is paired with max 3 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy M01s has a weaker Helio P22 which has no chances to compete with the Helio G35, and it comes with 3 GB of RAM. However, it has a light user interface (called One UI Core and based on Android 9 Pie) which gets its performances better. But with Realme C15 and Redmi 9C, you get Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

Realme C15 has the most complete camera department. It is the only one to pack a quad camera on the rear which includes an ultrawide sensor. The Realme C15 is better than Redmi 9C when it comes to the front camera, thanks to a superior 8 MP sensor. The Samsung Galaxy M01s has the same front camera. If we talk about normal photos, you should get slightly better quality with the Redmi 9C and Samsung Galaxy M01s which have a main sensor with a brighter aperture. Samsung Galaxy M01s lacks both an ultrawide sensor and a macro camera.

Battery

The 6000 mAh battery found on the Realme C15 guarantees a longer battery life simply because it has a higher capacity. It is even the only one to support fast charging (18W). Right after, we got the Redmi 9C with a 5000 mAh battery (but no fast charging). Samsung Galaxy M01s is still a nice battery phone, but it has just 4000 mAh.

Price

Realme C15 is priced less than €120/$140 in its base variant with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, Redmi 9C starts from €90/$105 (2/32 GB), and Samsung Galaxy M01s costs €110/$129. I would personally go for the Realme C15 because of its bigger battery, quad-camera, and good selfie snapper. I would not choose the Samsung Galaxy M01s because it has a smaller battery and an inferior chipset. With its nice main camera, Redmi 9C is a good compromise.

Usually, when people all around the world look for a very affordable device, they do not choose Samsung. But we think this device offers something more than other Samsung entry-level handsets sold at the same price during the last years. But is it enough to beat the concurrence? You can find it out by reading this comparison between Samsung Galaxy M01s and the entry-level offerings by Xiaomi and Oppo: we are talking about Redmi 9A and Oppo A12, both available in the most affordable price segment.

Design

Redmi 9A, Oppo A12, and Samsung Galaxy M01s are made of cheap materials: they are entirely made of polycarbonate (except the display, naturally), and they are not so sturdy. The Redmi 9A has a cleaner look with its smaller camera module and fewer elements on the rear side, but unlike Oppo A12 and Samsung Galaxy M01s, it lacks a fingerprint scanner and it relies on 2D face unlock. Also, note that Oppo A12 and Samsung Galaxy M01s are much more compact than Redmi 9A due to their smaller displays. The Oppo A12 is even more compact than Galaxy M01s thanks to narrower bezels around the display.

Display

The display providing the highest quality belongs to the Oppo A12 which boasts an IPS panel with high brightness. But despite that, it is still a below-average panel since it comes with an HD+ resolution and not a so high level of detail. You get even less detail with the Redmi 9A because it has a lower pixel density due to its wider panel. But it is actually better for productivity users and gamers due to its wider diagonal. The Samsung Galaxy M01s has a cheaper TFT panel which does not even come with the IPS technology, so it loses the comparison.

Specs & Software

You get just 2 GB of RAM with the Redmi 9A, but it has a way better chipset than Oppo A12 and Samsung Galaxy M01s. It is the new Helio G25 which is even pretty nice in advanced scenarios such as gaming, thanks to its high GPU performance. But the low amount of RAM will not let you open a lot of apps at the same time. Oppo A12 has an inferior chipset, but it offers up to 4 GB of RAM and even doubles the internal storage (up to 64 GB). Samsung Galaxy M01s loses again since it comes with the weakest chipset (Helio P22) and 3 GB of RAM paired with 32 GB of native storage.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy M01s is the best camera phone of this trio. It has a main sensor with a brighter focal aperture for the main camera, so it clicks better photos, especially in low light conditions. Further, it has a better 8 MP selfie camera. The silver medal goes to the Oppo A12 sporting a dual camera with a 13 MP main sensor and a depth sensor. The Redmi 9A lacks the depth sensor and it has just a single 13 MP sensor on the rear side. It is not recommended if you need the greatest photos, especially for portraits.

Battery

The Redmi 9A has a much bigger battery than Oppo A12 and Samsung Galaxy M01s, it lasts a lot more on a single charge. You can reach three days of battery life even with intensive usage. But this does not mean that its rivals are weak: Oppo A12 still provides an amazing battery life, and even the Galaxy M01s lasts a lot. In each case, you do not get fast charging.

Price

If only the Redmi 9A had more RAM, we would choose it as the winner of this comparison. But it is not so, that is why I personally prefer the Oppo A12, at least in its most expensive configuration. The Samsung Galaxy M01s is the best camera phone, but it is inferior when it comes to the rest of the specifications. The base variants of Samsung Galaxy M01s, Redmi 9A, and Oppo A12 cost Rs. 9999, Rs. 11,790 (expected, it is still not on the shelves), and Rs. 9,999, respectively. After reading this comparison, what would your choice be?
