Samsung has unveiled its latest budget-oriented smartphone, the Galaxy M05, in the Indian market. Part of the M series, this device combines a variety of features at an affordable price.

The M05 sports a large 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card. The device runs Android 14 with One UI Core 6.0 and is guaranteed to receive two major OS updates and four years of security patches.

In terms of optics, the M05 features a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there’s an 8MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner provides biometric security, and a 3.5mm headphone jack is included for wired audio connectivity.

The device is fueled by a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. However, it’s worth noting that Samsung has opted to exclude a charger from the retail package.

The Samsung Galaxy M05 is available in Mint Green color and is priced at Rs. 7,999 (~$98 USD). It is available for purchase through Amazon, Samsung.com, and select retail stores in India.

In related news, Samsung is set to release the Galaxy A16 5G, an entry-level phone featuring a triple camera setup, a flat frame, and a waterdrop notch. It may have a 5000mAh battery and come with either the Dimensity 6300 or Exynos 1330 chip, depending on the market. The rear cameras are rumored to include a 50 MP primary sensor, a 5 MP secondary, and a 2 MP macro camera, with a 13 MP selfie camera.
