The Galaxy M55s 5G features a refreshed design, a dual-tone back panel, and a slim profile. It boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP selfie camera, and a triple rear camera setup. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It runs on Android 14 with OneUI 6.1 and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

The Galaxy M55s 5G’s triple rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit. The camera app offers various features like nightography, dual recording, and more.

The smartphone also features an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 1,000 nits peak brightness, and a center-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy M55 with a starting price of Rs 26,999 in April of this year in India. Reports have revealed that the brand is working on a new variant of the said phone, dubbed the Galaxy M55s. An X post released by well-known tipster Mukul Sharma not only reveals the key specifications but also the real-life images of the M55s.

As per the leak, the Galaxy M55s will sport the new Fusion Design. A closer look at the leaked image shows that it has a three-part design consisting of a matte portion, a glossy portion in the middle and a stripped section, which extends from just below the camera module area down to about two-thirds of the phone’s height. The images also show that the M55s will be available in blue and black options.

The source revealed that the Samsung Galaxy M55s will have an sAMOLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will be equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. According to a previous leak, the device will come with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot.

On the front, the Galaxy M55s will feature a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The rear camera setup will include an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The above-mentioned specs appear identical to the Galaxy M55. Therefore, it remains unclear what distinguishes the M55s from the M55, aside from its design. Finally, the M55s is speculated to be priced at around Rs 20,000 (~$238).

Samsung is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of its popular Galaxy M55. The device, identified as the Galaxy M55s, has been spotted on certification websites, with the Bureau of Indian Standards being the latest one.

The certification confirms that the Samsung Galaxy M55s, identified with SM-M558B/DS model number, will soon be landing in the Indian market. Other than that, the certification does not reveal much. That said, the device was recently spotted on Geekbench, confirming some key details.

As per Geekbench, the Galaxy M55s will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, which will be backed by 8GB of RAM and running Android 14.

While details are scarce, it’s likely the M55s will retain key features from its predecessor. To recall, the Galaxy M55 is equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W charging. For cameras, it includes a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro unit, and a 50MP front-facing selfie camera.

In other news, the Xiaomi 14T has also recently emerged on Geekbench, revealing key details like a Dimensity 8300 Ultra processor and 12GB RAM. On the other hand, the 14T Pro model will be powered by the Dimensity 9300+ processor. Both of these models are rumored to feature impressive camera hardware tailor-made for low light performance.

Samsung launched the Galaxy M55 5G (first impressions) earlier this year. Now, the South Korean brand seems to be working on a new model of the device if the latest report is anything to go by. The upcoming offering reportedly dubbed as the Galaxy M55s has been spotted on the Geekbench (via) benchmarking platform after it previously bagged WiFi Alliance certification. 

Samsung Galaxy M55s Geekbench

The Samsung Galaxy M55s carries a model number SM-M558B on the Geekbench database. It is listed with a motherboard codenamed taro and the setup comprises of four cores clocked at 1.8GHz, three cores ticking at 2.36GHz, and a primary core at 2.4GHz. There is an Adreno 644 GPU onboard. This suggests that the device will be equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. As per the listing, the smartphone will pack 8GB RAM and we can expect more options at launch. Software-wise, it will run on Android 14 OS out of the box. 

The Samsung Galaxy M55s scores 1,033 and 2,309 points in the Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core test results respectively. The rest of the details about the smartphone remain under wraps for now.
