However, the update was only for the 5G models of the phone. Now, Samsung has officially rolled out the One UI 4 stable update for the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G. Additionally, the update has also been pushed to the Galaxy A52, Galaxy S10 Lite, and the China-only device Samsung W22 5G.

Starting with the Galaxy S20 FE 4G, it is worth noting that the update is currently only live in Malaysia for the S20 FE 4G models with the model number SM-G780G. It has the firmware version G780GXXU3BUL9. The update brings all the Android 12 features and has the One UI 4 improvements. It also has the December 2021 security patch.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 gets the Android 12-based One UI 4 update in Russia. It has the firmware version A525FXXU4BUL8. Again, it brings the December 2021 security patch.

Coming to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, the update has arrived in Spain. It is for the S10 Lite variants with the model number SM-G770F. It has the firmware version G770FXS6FULA. Similar to the S20 FE, the S10 Lite also receives the December 2021 security patch.

Lastly, the Samsung W22 5G in China has received the same update. But if you followed Samsung’s update timeline, you might know that the company already released the One UI 4 update for the W22 5G back in December 2021, however, due to some reasons the company has to halt it. Nonetheless, the new update is now available with the firmware version W2022ZCU2BULF.

Design

The design of a smartphone is not all about looks: it is also about dimensions and thickness. And I think Oppo Reno3 Pro is the handset that mostly meets the requirements for the best design award. Despite it includes a battery above 4000 mAh, it still comes with an incredibly thin design: just 7.7 mm, as well as a lightweight body with just 171 grams. Further, it has a cleaner glass back thanks to the camera module including all the camera elements, and very narrow bezels thanks to its punch-hole display. Oppo Reno3 Pro is the device attracting me the most, but Vivo X30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite remain two smartphones with amazing aesthetics. The former is even more compact than Oppo Reno3 Pro (but it is thicker and heavier).

Display

Oppo Reno3 Pro is the device offering the most advanced display experience. It is the only to support a high 90 Hz refresh rate, it has a very nice image reproduction thanks to HDR and high DCI-P3 coverage, and even a high brightness. But you should not underestimate the image quality provided by the Super AMOLED Plus panel found on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite. Even the Vivo X30 Pro sports a great display, but I personally prefer the Oppo Reno3 Pro due to its high refresh rate.

Hardware/Software

It is not very common to see a Samsung smartphone with higher performance than other devices in the same price range. But thanks to the Snapdragon 855 chipset, Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is faster and more powerful than both Oppo Reno3 Pro and Vivo X30 Pro. But there is a con: unlike its rivals, it does not support 5G. Both Oppo Reno3 Pro and Vivo X30 Pro boast 5G connectivity, but their chipsets are not the most powerful in the market (they are upper-midrange-class mobile platforms). Whether you should go for a 5G device or not depends on the country you live in and how much time will pass before changing your device. Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Oppo Reno3 Pro have Android 10 out of the box, while Vivo X30 Pro is still based on Android Pie.

Camera

The most impressive camera on the paper belongs to the Vivo X30 Pro. It has a quad camera composed of a main 64 MP sensor with OIS, a 32 MP portrait lens, a 13 MP periscope sensor with up to 5x optical zoom and an ultrawide sensor. But the fact that it boasts the most impressive cameras on the paper does not mean it provides the best photo quality in every scenario. Oppo Reno3 Pro is another amazing device for photos thanks to its 48 MP main sensor with OIS, while Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite should be impressive for video recording due to its new Super Steady OIS. We will be able to tell you more after testing it thoroughly.

Battery

The king of battery life is Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite with its 4500 mAh battery, followed by Vivo X30 Pro and its 4350 mAh unit.

Price

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite costs €649 globally, Vivo X30 Pro starts from about $585 in China, and Oppo Reno3 Pro starts from about €520 in China. With Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite you lose 5G, but you get better performance and longer battery life. If you get a unit of the Oppo Reno3 Pro, you will get the most amazing design and display, as well as 5G and Android 10 out of the box, while Vivo X30 Pro has the most impressive camera department.

Until the launch of this device, the only option to get a Galaxy S series device for fewer bucks was the compact S10e. But is the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite the best alternative for that price? Let’s discover it together by comparing it with other popular handsets in the market. After comparing it with OnePlus 7T and ROG Phone II, we chose to write a specs comparison between Galaxy S10 Lite, Huawei P30 Pro and the flagship killer Realme X2 Pro.

Design

Do you want a compact and impressive design or the most futuristic one? If your answer is the first, then go for the Huawei P30 Pro without thinking twice. With its curved edges around the display and compact dimensions, it is a very elegant and versatile handset. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite offers a more futuristic punch-hole display. The design is not the strongest point of the Realme X2 Pro. Besides having an amazing design, Huawei P30 Pro is also the one with the most interesting build quality since it is the only waterproof phone of the trio, with the IP68 certification.

Display

Despite Samsung produces the best and most popular displays for mobile devices, Realme X2 Pro has the most advanced display here. It is the only to be HDR10+ certified and it provides an impressive image quality. Further, it is the only to boast a high 90 Hz refresh rate, perfect for gaming since it provides a smoother viewing experience. The second place goes to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite coming with a new Super AMOLED Plus panel delivering very realistic colors and HDR, as well as a wide 6.7-inch diagonal. However, this does not mean that Huawei P30 Pro has a bad display.

Hardware/Software

The most stunning hardware is provided by the Realme X2 Pro, fueled by the amazing Snapdragon 855+ by Qualcomm built at 7 nm with a max frequency of 2.96 GHz. The SoC is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of fast UFS 3.0 native storage. Realme X2 Pro is the only not featuring expandable internal storage and the only which still runs Android 9 Pie, but it is the fastest and most performing device here. Right after, we got the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite with a Snapdragon 855 chipset and 8 GB of RAM in its most expensive variant, as well as UFS 2.1 internal storage.

Camera

Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite have the most advanced cameras. It is still too early to pick up a winner, but we believe that Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will deliver a better video quality, while Huawei P30 Pro may provide more interesting photos. Realme X2 Pro si just a midrange camera phone (despite its higher 64 MP resolution), so we do not recommend it if the camera is among your main concerns.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has a bigger 4500 mAh and it lasts more on a single charge in most of the scenarios. But unlike the Huawei P30 Pro, it does not feature wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Realme X2 Pro supports wired charging only just like the Galaxy S10 Lite, but it has the fastest charging technology: it goes from 0 to 100 percent in just 35 minutes.

Price

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite costs Rs. 39,999 in India and €649 globally, Realme X2 Pro starts from Rs. 29,999 in Inda and €399 globally, and Huawei P30 Pro costs about Rs. 50,000 in India and about €600 globally thanks to online street prices. Overall, Realme X2 Pro provides better performances and displays, while Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Huawei P30 Pro have better cameras and batteries. Given that the P30 Pro also comes with special features such as wireless charging and water resistance, it is a more complete device. But if we exclude cameras, Realme X2 Pro has the highest value for money. Which one would you pick?

Design

If you need the most elegant and futuristic handset, then you should opt for the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite. It is the only with a punch-hole display allowing the presence of very narrow bezels without the need for a notch. OnePlus 7T is slightly more compact, but despite that, I personally prefer the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite for its punch-hole display. Asus ROG Phone II has an aggressive, gaming centric design, so it is the best only for gaming-addicted users and it is not among the most elegant devices. It even supports several external accessories to enhance the gaming experience.

Display

If you want the best-performing display for games, then there is nothing better than Asus ROG Phone II. With a high 120 Hz refresh ratio, full DCI-P3 coverage and a 1240 Hz touch sampling rate, it offers one of the most interesting displays out there. And how not to mention those powerful stereo speakers with DTS audio placed on the front? On the other hand, OnePlus 7T and Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite are all but disappointing when it comes to displays. The former offers the HDR10+ certification (unlike the ROG Phone 2) as well as a high 90 Hz refresh rate. The latter employs a new Super AMOLED Plus panel with improved image quality. But I define Asus ROG Phone II more advanced.

Hardware/Software

Asus ROG Phone II and OnePlus 7T are equipped with the most powerful chipset: the Snapdragon 855+. But we are going to give the gold medal to the Asus ROG Phone II only since it has a more powerful memory configuration: it offers up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 3.0 native storage. You can get only 8 GB of RAM on the OnePlus 7T. Asus ROG Phone II is the only one still based on Android Pie out of the box, but it has already been updated to Android 10 and it lets you switch between a custom and a stock Android user interface.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite offers the most advanced camera department. It consists of a triple 48 MP rear camera with a brand new optical stabilization technology (Super Steady OS) reaching awesome results in terms of photo quality. The second place goes to the OnePlus 7T with its 48 MP triple camera supporting OIS and including a telephoto sensor (unlike the Galaxy S10 Lite).

Battery

With its mammoth 6000 mAh battery, Asus ROG Phone II is the longest-lasting flagship on a single charge. And it can even be used as a power bank thanks to reverse charging. Right after, we got the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite with a 4500 mAh battery.

Price

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has an Rs. 39,999 listing price in India, while it costs €649/$717 globally. OnePlus 7T costs Rs. 37,999 in India and you can find it for about €450/$497 thanks to global street prices. Asus ROG Phone II is available for about €500/$552 globally and it costs Rs. 37,999 in India. Overall, Asus ROG Phone II is a better smartphone, if you do not mind about the camera and elegant designs. But if you need the best camera and a more sober design while keeping a big battery, go for the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite. OnePlus 7T offers better performance than Galaxy S10 Lite and better cameras than Asus ROG Phone II, but it has a battery below 4000 mAh and that is the reason why it would not be my choice.

That is why, in order to let you understand whether it is worth giving a chance to Samsung’s affordable flagships, we think it is time to compare them with the competition.

Design

Despite the curved edge-to-edge display of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 are definitely very attractive, the award for the design goes to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, at least in my opinion. It has a higher screen-to-body ratio and a more interesting punch-hole display making the overall aesthetics better. The Note 10 Lite is similar, but with slightly thicker bezels and a thicker profile. Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is the thinnest and the most lightweight one. But obviously it is also a matter of taste. Which one would you pick?

Display

We still did not test the displays of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite, but there should not be so much difference in terms of image quality, even compared to the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite. In each case, you get a great HDR display with high-end image quality. The real difference is the presence of the support to the S Pen for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite. If you need a phone for productivity and you would like handwriting or draw on your phone, you should not miss this device. It is the most affordable device from the Note 10 lineup supporting the S Pen.

Hardware/Software

While Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite come with a hardware side which can be considered upper-midrange, Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is a real flagship thanks to the presence of a Snapdragon 855 chipset. So if you need the most powerful device, go for it without thinking twice. Unlike the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 which is the lower-end one, it offers up to 8 GB of RAM and a micro SD slot to expand the internal storage. The Galaxy Note 10 has the same processor as the Galaxy S9, it is high-end, but you can not compare it to 2019 flagships.

Camera

It may seem odd, but if you need the best camera this time you have to choose a Xiaomi device instead of a Samsung flagship. With its 108 MP penta camera, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is one of the most amazing camera phones ever released. It includes OIS and even 5x optical zoom, besides an ultrawide lens and a dedicated macro camera. Right after, we got the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite. We still did not test its cameras, but on the paper, it looks very promising. It has a new technology of optical stabilization which should help shooting even better photos and videos. The Samsung Note 10 Lite is not the best camera phone of the trio, but it is still very capable thanks to its 12 MP triple camera including a bright focal aperture and OIS.

Battery

Finally, Samsung includes very big batteries inside its flagships. Both Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite are equipped with huge 4500 mAh batteries and both support fast charging (but no wireless charging, neither reverse wireless charging). But the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has an even bigger unit: a mammoth 5260 mAh battery with 30W fast charging. This does not necessarily mean that it will last more on a single charge in every scenario, but it should be superior in most of the situations.

Price

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will hit the shelves globally with a price starting from €649/$722, while Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite will cost €599/$666 in its base configuration. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 was launched for €599, but you can currently find it for about €450/$500. Overall, Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is a more complete and well-balanced device, but it lacks the S Pen. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 should have a superior camera and battery, but when it comes to hardware, it is just a mid-ranger. Despite its specs sheet does not have more to offer, the Note 10 Lite is the only affordable flagship supporting the S Pen, so it is still an amazing option.

The rumour was rekindled a couple of months back with renders and leaks of the device appearing online. The tech giant has now officially unveiled the Galaxy S10 Lite today, ending several months of speculations. The device was launched alongside a Galaxy Note 10 Lite, both bringing flagship-level quality to mid-range models.

As for the specifications, the Galaxy S10 Lite packs a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display. The display panel has a bigger size than the Galaxy S10+’s 6.4-inch QHD+ screen and is equally embedded with a fingerprint sensor. One major design difference between this model and the Galaxy S10 is that even though both models pack a punch-hole design, the Galaxy S10 Lite’s is centrally placed and not right-aligned like it is on the other Galaxy S10 handsets.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and will be available in 6GB/8GB RAM variants with 128GB of internal storage. There’s a 4,500mAh battery keeping the lights on with support for 25W super-fast wired charging. Android 10 and One UI 2.0 come pre-installed with a whole host of other Samsung features like Bixby, AR Emoji, Samsung Pay and more.

For photography, the Galaxy S10 Lite packs a triple camera setup which is the same as the one on the Galaxy A51. The camera setup includes a primary 48-megapixel f/2.0 camera with Super Steady OIS, a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide and a 5-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera. The new Super Steady OIS is paired with the camera’s Super Steady mode for higher stability in action-focused photos and videos. The front punch-hole houses a 32-megapixel f/2.2 camera.

It’s already known that the Galaxy S10 lineup will include three models — Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10 Plus. There will also be another variant made of ceramic, which is said to feature 5G connectivity.

From what we’ve seen so far, it appears that the Galaxy S10 Lite will take on the Apple iPhone XR. Now, the new report suggests that the South Korean company will also offer colorful options for the smartphone, similar to the iPhone XR.

According to the latest report, the Galaxy S10 Lite will be available in five color options — Black, White, Blue, Green, and Yellow. The S10 and S10 Plus will have four colors — Black, White, Blue, and Green. The ceramic edition will be available in Black and White colors only.

These are the color options that will be offered at the time of the launch. However, it’s not confirmed if all the color options will be available worldwide or some colors will be limited to a few regions. Given the track record of Samsung, we expect the company will keep launching new color variants for the Galaxy S10 lineup every couple of months after its initial launch.

Reports indicate that the Galaxy S10 Lite (SM-G70F) will be featuring a flat 5.8-inch Super-AMOLED screen with Quad HD screen resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is unlikely to feature an in-display camera hole.

The phone is expected to feature a regular rear-mounted fingerprint scanner or an optical under-display fingerprint scanner. The S10 and S10 Plus, on the other hand, are expected to come equipped with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Depending on the market, the Galaxy S10 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820.

As per the reports, Samsung will be holding the Samsung Unpacked event on 20th February, before the MWC 2019, to announce the Galaxy S10 series. The MWC 2019 will be held in Barcelona, Spain between February 25 and February 28. The Galaxy S10 devices are expected to be available for pre-order on the same day of the announcement and are expected to go on sale from 8th March.
