However, the Galaxy S10 5G, the company’s first 5G smartphone, was excluded from this and enjoyed a monthly update schedule because it was launched a few months after the 4G variants. But now the Galaxy S10 5G has also been demoted to a quarterly update schedule.</p>
<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s10-5g">Samsung Galaxy S10 5G</a> was launched in early 2019 and holds the title of “Samsung’s first 5G smartphone”. The smartphone was launched in two Soc variants- Exynos 9820 and Snapdragon 855.</p>
<p>The handset has been getting monthly security updates since its launch. But now that it is over 3 years old, the company is degrading it to a quarterly update schedule meaning it will receive security patches once in three months.</p>
<p>The Galaxy S10 5G received its last update in the form of the May Security Patch, which means it will not receive its next update until August. The OG S10 5G is nearing its end of life and the smartphone will also not be receiving any major OS updates now. Android 12 OS was the end-game for it.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-464727" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Samsung-S10-5G.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung S10 5G" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Samsung-S10-5G.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Samsung-S10-5G-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Samsung-S10-5G-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Samsung-S10-5G-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>In addition, a few mid-range devices have also gone through a change of update schedule. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a41/">Galaxy A41</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a51-5G/">Galaxy A51 5G</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m01">Galaxy M01</a> have now been moved to a bi-annual update schedule meaning they will only be updated twice a year. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m13">Galaxy M13</a> has been added to the quarterly update cycle and will receive security updates once every three months.</p>
<p>Moreover, Samsung is retiring the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a6">Galaxy A6</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-j7-duo">Galaxy J7 Duo</a>, both smartphones will no longer be eligible for any updates.</p>

<p>The rollout has hit the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10+ and is currently limited to some regions, with Germany being one of the very first. The new updated firmware version is G97xFXXUEGULB and includes the December security patch that fixes a few privacy and security vulnerabilities.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-254487 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Galaxy-S10-Cardinal-Red-featured.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy S10+ Cardinal Red featured" width="720" height="396" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Galaxy-S10-Cardinal-Red-featured.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Galaxy-S10-Cardinal-Red-featured-300x165.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Galaxy-S10-Cardinal-Red-featured-696x383.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>No ETA has been given out for when the update will be released in other regions but we imagine it to be quite soon, that is, if everything goes well and no bugs are reported during the initial rollout.</p>
<p>Also, now that the Galaxy S10 series has been treated to One UI 4, it is safe to assume that the Galaxy Note 10 series will be the next in line.</p>
<p>To check if you have received the update on your Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, or Galaxy S10+, simply head over to <strong>Settings &gt; Software update</strong>. If available, then just tap on <strong>Download and install</strong>.</p>
<p>One UI 4 is based on Android 12 and brings along a number of changes including dynamic wallpaper-based theming, re-designed widgets, new animations, tweaked quick settings panel, and some new features.</p>

As is regular with the Galaxy S series, the Korean company is said to be planning once again to release the Galaxy S10 in two models &#8211; the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus. If news from the South Korean supply chain is anything to go by, the device would sport an innovative ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-series-1.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-203310" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-series-1.png?x44794" alt="" width="628" height="332" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-series-1.png 628w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-series-1-300x159.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px" /></a></p>
<p>You would agree that the in-display technology is not a new thing in the smartphone market as some Chinese models such as the Vivo NEX, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Huawei Mate RS already feature the in-display fingerprint technology. The technology is yet to catch up with so many OEMs as several new models like the latest OPPO Find X didn&#8217;t adopt it. But the rumour says Samsung is working on a faster, more reliable ultrasonic in-display fingerprint recognition solution which would differentiate the sensor in the Galaxy S10 flagship series which is different from the one on the models we know of. It is said that this ultra-advanced biometric sensor is not going to be manufactured by Goodix and Synaptics which is known to be the manufacturer of the optical-based component used by Vivo, Xiaomi, and Huawei. Samsung biometric sensor is most likely to be produced by Taiwan’s General Interface Solution (GIS).</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-series.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-203311" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-series.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="680" height="453" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-series.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-series-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a><strong>Read Also: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/25/samsung-will-unveil-its-smart-speaker-called-magbee-at-ifa-2018/">Samsung will unveil its Smart Speaker called Magbee at IFA 2018</a></strong></p>
<p>It has been speculated before now that the Galaxy S10 flagship series would house three different smartphones and from all indication, the 6.1 and 6.4-inch or so AMOLED screens models would be embedded with the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors. while the low-end 5.8-inch model would come with the normal rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Industry sources also point out that, the high-end device in the S10 series &#8211; 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch models would have more units produced with about 34-36 million units out of the estimated 40 million units to be produced. The trimmed down model will get just 4 million units.</p>
