Samsung‘s Android 12 based One UI 4.0 was first introduced on November 15th and has been slowly rolling out to their devices. These include their latest flagships like the Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy Z Fold3, and Galaxy Z Flip3, while the older generations are still in the Beta phase. However, this might not be for long.

According to a Samsung’s Korean community forum for the One UI Beta program, when asked about the next Beta phase for the Galaxy S20 series devices, the Beta Operations Manager stated that they are preparing to release the official version and therefore have no plans for additional betas right now(via).

The confirmation comes as good news to Samsung Galaxy S20 series owners. It appears that the company is on schedule to provide the One UI 4.0 update to its customers sometime in January. However, the Samsung Beta Operations Manager refused to provide the exact schedule when asked for by a community member.

According to previous reports, Samsung will be releasing the One UI 4 for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and Galaxy S20 FE in January 2022. Other devices set to receive the update in the same month include Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy Note20 series, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Fold, and the Galaxy Z Fold2. In February next year, the update will be released for the Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy A52 5G, and the Galaxy Tab S7/Tab S7+.

But due to recent issues faced in the One UI 4.0 on S21 devices, we would advise you to wait out the new update for a few days and see how things turn out. And for that purpose, you can trust us to bring you the latest notable developments.

Samsung started rolling out the One UI 3.1 update for various devices including the Galaxy S20 series recently. Along with the update, it seemed to have enabled the eSIM functionality in regions like India.

As reported by Piunikaweb, the One UI 3.1 update for India has the firmware version G98xFXXU6DUB5. It weighs 1246.69MB and brings the latest UI to the Galaxy S20+(SM-G985F) variant. Certain users in Samsung community forums have confirmed that e-SIM functionality is enabled after this update.

As you can see below, the screenshot on the forums shows the eSIM options inside settings-> SIM Card Manager. If you recall, Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series in February 2020. Back then, the devices in India had the support for eSIM but Samsung had disabled it.

So, for using a secondary SIM card, one had to take out the memory card out and use the slot for another network. For the unware, Samsung Galaxy S20 comes with a Hybrid-SIM slot i.e., users can use a nano-SIM + microSD card or two nano-SIMs at a time.
Anyway, with eSIM enabled, you can now use the device with two networks and an SD card simultaneously.

Also, that’s not the only thing the One UI 3.1 update brings to the table. Just like other regions(South Korea, UK, Europe), the Indian region also brings  Improved performance, Private Share, GPS location data removal on Images, more Lock screen widgets, Background Video Calling, Zoom Lock(in camera), and more.

That said, the update should enable the eSIM features for other regions(like the USA) as well.

Recently, Samsung upped the ante yesterday by extending security update support for 4 years in total. The eligible devices including the Galaxy Z, S, Note, A, M, XCover, and Tab series will receive monthly/quarterly updates accordingly.

Samsung has finally began the One UI 3.0 stable rollout. Reports say that the company, which has been running a Beta program so far, is rolling the stable update in Europe, and the USA.

As reported by Sammobile, Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 3.0 stable update for the Galaxy S20 series in Europe, and the USA(Verizon Carrier version). Further, a screenshot shared by the report shows a firmware version G98xxXXU5CTKG for Europe and weighs 179.82MB. Accordingly, the update brings One UI 3.0 based on Android 11, along with December 1, 2020 security patch.

Although Samsung is yet to acknowledge this, it is reportedly rolling out in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Nordic countries. For the unware, five Nordic countries include Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland. Anyway, as reported earlier, the company is certainly living up to the promise of sticking to the schedule of One UI 3.0.

Besides, the changelog of the European firmware says the device gets improved performance to Camera, stability improvements, and fixes. That said, the USA update for Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra as per the Verizon website mentions the following changelog:

• Software Version: RP1A.200720.012.G981VSQU1ZTHK(Galaxy S20 5G)
• What’s New: Android 11- Conversations, Bubbles, Categorized notifications, One UI 3.0
• One UI 3.0- improvements to Quick Panel, Toolbars, Notifications, settings, and more.

Additionally, the changelog on the Verizon website says that the security patch is November 2020, unlike Europe. Nevertheless, the stable update is here and we can expect it to expand to other regions very soon. Also, if Samsung were to stick to the schedule as mentioned above, the next lineup for One UI 3.0 stable rollout in January are Galaxy Note 20 series, Z Flip, Fold2, Galaxy S10 series, and Note 10 Series. Let’s wait and see if Samsung is able to carry the moment going forward.

A couple of weeks back Samsung rolled out a Public beta of One UI 3.0 in South Korea. Now, the company is rolling out the new beta version of the UI to signed-up users of the Galaxy S20 series in China, and India.

A report from Sammobile shows a first beta version of One UI 3.0 with firmware G98x0ZCU2ZTJG. The firmware version is for the Galaxy S20 series devices that have signed up for beta in China. This includes the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. Also, a beta version with firmware version G98xFXXU5ZTJF is rolling out to Indian users as well. As promised, the beta is live in other countries like the United States, South Korea, United Kingdom, Poland,  and Germany.

Further, the report says that the firmware version for China is same as the US. It is obviously based on Android 11, packs in October 1, 2020, Android Security patch, and Knox 3.7. And, it reportedly fixes bugs identified in the earlier release.

Also, the update is expected to arrive soon for devices like Galaxy Note 20 series, and S20 FE across the regions. Samsung confirmed the OneUI 3.0 based on Android 11 back at the event on August 5. The beta program began after the initial developer build and is now covered to almost all the countries as promised earlier. The public version will reportedly roll out before 2020 ends.

Besides, OneUI 3.0 has quite an overhaul from the earlier version apart from carrying the Android 11 features. The changes include Accessibility, Contacts, Bixby routine, Digital wellbeing, revamp to Home, Lock screen. And AOD features, revamped screenshots, and more.
