Samsung has launched the latest Galaxy Z Flip 4 at the Galaxy Unpacked event held today (August 10). The new foldable comes with significant upgrades over its predecessor. It is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a 3,700mAh battery, a dual rear camera setup, and much more. Let’s have a detailed look at its specifications, pricing, and availability.

Design & Display

Samsung’s new clamshell is carrying many upgrades in terms of performance, camera, and more but design-wise it looks the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, Samsung claims that it slimmed down the bezels and hinge. It has the same dual-tone design with two cameras on the back. The cover display is also the same size as the Flip 3.

Talking about the display, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 flaunts a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). The smartphone also has a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover screen on the outer display that offers a 260×512-pixel resolution.

Specifications

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 features some impressive hardware specs. It draws power from an upgraded Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which is currently the most powerful chipset you can find on an Android device. The chipset is paired with the same 8GB RAM. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

Samsung really changed the fate of foldable smartphones with its Galaxy Z Flip 3. The phone came at a reasonable price and featured the same processor as the Galaxy S21 series. It felt like the first foldable that actually appealed to the masses. Now, the company is ready to bring the successor to the Flip 3 and it definitely has big shoes to fill in.

The company hasn’t announced the foldable by name, but some promising rumors, press renders, and leaks have already revealed a lot about the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 4. So, here’s everything that we know so far.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Launch Date

Just like last year, Samsung is said to announce the next Galaxy Z Flip this August. The company is holding its Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10th at 9 AM and that’s when we can expect the Galaxy Z Flip 4 to launch. Alongside it, we’ll likely see the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Watch 5 series, and some new earbuds.

The launch date is almost certain because the promotional images and teasers clearly show us the silhouette of a foldable that clearly looks like a Flip phone. In addition, Samsung’s smartphone head also teased new foldables in a recent blog post.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Design

Numerous leaks and renders suggest that the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be almost identical to its predecessor. Sure, the device will carry a few changes here and there but nothing too prominent. The foldable is said to have tweaked dimensions, it will be slightly smaller and thicker with dimensions of 165.1 x 71.9 x 7.2mm.

We can expect the Flip 4 to feature a cover display placed in a black strip up top, along with the two cameras. The internal folding screen will likely be 6.7-inches while the cover screen is said to be bumped from 1.83-inches up to 1.9-inches. Moreover, rumors suggest that the crease will likely be less noticeable. The hinge on the device is said to be slightly thinner but there will still be a gap between the two sides of the smartphone when it’s folded closed.

The device is said to be coming in Graphite, Bora Purple, Pink Gold, and Blue colorways. Moreover, reports suggest that Samsung will bring back the “Bespoke edition” which will allow people to customize the color of the front, back, and frame of the phone.

From what we know so far, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will likely come with the same set of cameras as the previous Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which is launching alongside the device, is rumored to flaunt several camera improvements.

The device is expected to have the same 12-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and 10-megapixel selfie shooter as that of its predecessor. A Report suggests the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be priced at €1109 for the base 128GB variant. The 256 GB storage model is said to come at a price of €1169 (roughly $1191).
