Back at CES 2023, Samsung unveiled the Odyssey Neo G9 57-inch 8K ultrawide gaming monitor which went on sale in Europe last week. Now, the pricing & launch timeline for the US market has been confirmed.

The new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC has an MSRP of $2499.99 in the US. It will hit market shelves in October, and will also be available to buy through Samsung.com.

The monitor is already up for pre-order in the EU and UK where it costs €2,499 and £2,199, respectively.

The curved gaming monitor boasts an expansive 57-inch display with 1000R curvature. Its IPS Mini LED panel can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. This screen offers a remarkable 7,680 x 2,160 resolution, equivalent to 8K resolution with a pixel density of 140 PPI, and an impressive 240Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it carries the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification.

The Neo G9 offers a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a rapid 1ms response time. Its ultra-wide screen features a 32:9 aspect ratio and supports DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity, ensuring lossless Display Stream Compression. Furthermore, this gaming monitor offers support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

The South Korean tech giant has begun selling the Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC after the 2023 CES event. As of right now, Austrian retailer Krob has listed the new gaming monitor for a hefty price tag of 3,219 Euros. The appearance on this European website hints that a larger release is just around the corner for the Western market. This exorbitant pricing isn’t surprising considering this is a part of the brand’s top-of-the-line gaming monitors.

The curved gaming monitor sports a massive 57-inch display that has a 1000R curvature. This panel can output up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness from its Mini LED panel. Samsung has today expanded its lineup of massive monitors with the announcement of its new Odyssey Neo G9. The 57-inch monitor falls in the ultra-wide category, boasting a 32:9 aspect ratio.

The South Korean giant had started teasing this new monitor a couple of months back, in November last year, which the company had touted to be the first 8K ultra-wide monitor.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 monitor features an 8K display with a screen resolution of 7860 x 2160 pixels. The company also claims it to be the first dual UHD mini-LED monitor. The matte display has a 1000000:1 contrast ratio and HDR 1000 support, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response rate.

The company also says it is the first gaming monitor to have DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity support, which also adds support for lossless Display Stream Compression.

While the product has been unveiled, Samsung hasn’t revealed all the details about this new monitor but has said that more details will be revealed soon. It’s almost certain that the pricing will be on the higher side, given its premium specs, but the company has not yet revealed the pricing details.

Samsung has launched the Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor in its home market of South Korea. The new monitor is the successor of the Odyssey G9. Both models share several similarities, but the Neo G9 looks like a big improvement over its predecessor. The Odyssey Neo G9 is Samsung’s first Mini-LED gaming monitor, and it offers a higher quality overall output than the G9. The Quantum Mini-LED (QLED+) display in the 49-inch Neo G9 is an improvement of the QLED display retained in the Odyssey G9.

The Quantum Mini-LED curved screen can offer up to 5K resolution, with an ultra-wide 32:9 Aspect Ratio. Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 uses a VA panel and 2048 local dimming zones for enhanced picture clarity. The new gaming monitor has the VDE (Germany) certification for peak brightness, and it supports HDR10 and HDR10+ video content.

The gaming monitor also supports a 240Hz refresh rate, auto low-latency mode, and Adaptive Sync. It has two HDMI 2.1 ports which offer higher-quality input than its predecessor. There are also two USB 3.0 ports and 1 DisplayPort 1.4. The monitor supports 4K 120Hz gaming, with several gaming-specific features also available. These include Black Equalizer, Super Arena Gaming UX, low input lag mode, Refresh Rate Optimizer, and Screen Size Optimizer. The Odyssey Neo G9 can automatically switch to gaming mode with low latency immediately after a game console is connected to it.

The new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor has a 100×100 VESA mount, and the stand supports swivel and tilts adjustment to suit the gamer’s preferences.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor will be available for pre-order from July 29. Sales begin globally on August 9. The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 will sell at KRW 2,400,000 ($2,100) in Korea, while the US and other markets could get the gaming monitor for about $2,500.
