Samsung has decided to add a new color to the Samsung Galaxy S22 variants. The “Bora Purple” color option for the device will be available next month at carriers and retail shops. Samsung’s new Bora Purple color is the eighth color choice for the Galaxy S22. Previously available hues included Phantom White, Phantom Black, Graphite, Green, Sky Blue, and Cream. Samsung hopes that the new color will “evoke joy, spark creativity, and embrace individuality.”

Violet, the first purple color in the Galaxy S22 series, was previously exclusively accessible via Samsung’s online shop. Compared to the current violet color, Bora Purple is a little bit darker. Since the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9, Samsung has long been a fan of the color purple. Even recent products like the Galaxy Z Flip 3 used the color.

On August 10, the day of the next Galaxy Unpacked event, the Bora Purple Galaxy S22 will go on sale. You may purchase it from Samsung or your chosen carrier, which may be AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, or another company. The selling price of the Galaxy S22 in Bora Purple is $799.99.

It goes without saying that the introduction of the new Bora Purple color for the Galaxy S22 should provide a clear indication of the availability of some of the new products anticipated at Galaxy Unpacked. Bora Purple has already been spotted on upcoming gadgets including the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.

Earlier we thought that the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event could take place on August 11, but it is officially going to take place on the 10th of August this year.

It was not long ago when the Samsung Galaxy S22 series renders went live that showed how interesting the back design is going to be. Well, enough for those renders as hands-on shots have now started to flow in. xleaks7 and CoverPigtou have tagged along to provide the first glimpse of a dummy unit of the Galaxy S22 Ultra in a short hands-on video.

The first thing that pops up into our minds after having a first look at the dummy unit is that it has a resemblance to last year’s Galaxy Note20 Ultra. This suggests that the rumors of it being a Note22 Ultra may be true after all. According to the renders that surfaced earlier, Samsung S22 Ultra/ Note22 Ultra is expected to carry a 6.8-inch dual-curved display. The device features a distinct P-shaped quad camera set up on the rear.

The new leak also corroborates the S Pen slot rumors but the dummy unit clearly misses it out. Volume and power buttons are placed on the right-hand side. We hope to see more such leaks as we move closer to 2022.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is easily one of the most-awaited devices of late. The flagship series from Samsung that is expected to go live sometime early in 2022, is being leaked on a spree by the likes of Ice Universe. And now, the same leakster has revealed that the most economical S22 device – Samsung Galaxy S22 – will feature a 3700 mAh battery.

The battery size is tiny by today’s standards, especially considering that processors that power flagship phones are known to be real fuel-guzzlers. However, the size makes perfect sense considering that the phone will be quite compact, even more pocket-friendly than the recently announced iPhone 13, in fact.

The size difference is across all dimensions. Ice Universe says that the S22 will be smaller in length, width, as well as thickness than the iPhone 13 which already measures 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.7 mm.

This effectively makes the S22 one of the most compact Android flagships in recent times. The last time Samsung pulled off something similar was with the S10e that had a screen size of 5.8-inches. The S22 will be sized a tad larger though with a diagonal of 6.06 inches.

Lastly, the compact upcoming Samsung flagship will feature a charging speed of 25W. This is slower than the 45W (10V 4.5A) charging speeds supported by its larger siblings – the S22+ and S22 Ultra.

Other known stuff about the Samsung Galaxy S22 includes it and the S22+ skipping on Samsung’s GN1 and GN2 camera sensors and instead opting for the recently launched ISOCELL GN5 camera sensor. Further, the S22 lineup may feature that Snapdragon 898 processor in India. The devices will not come with under-display cameras and will stick with punch-hole ones. They are expected to into mass production next month and will likely be available for purchase from January 2022.
