Despite facing the heat from two of its biggest markets like the USA and India, TikTok does get a couple of good news occasionally. Recently, a 16-Yr old Charli D’Amelio was the first to hit 100 million followers on the App. Today, it partners with Samsung to launch the TikTok App on Samsung Smart TVs in Europe.

Samsung has made the announcement of the App and the collaboration with TikTok on its newsroom(via Sammobile). As per the announcement, users of Europe can exclusively access the short video-platform application on their Samsung TVs. However, it is available only for UK as of now. Precisely, you can take a look at the list of TVs that support are below:

• All Samsung TV models from 2018-2020 in the UK*
  • 4K and 8K TVs, Smart Monitor
  • The Premiere(projector)
  • The Frame
  • The Serif

*- All models of Samsung excluding The Sero. It will get the feature in 2021. The list of TVs for other countries(Europe) will be announced in the coming months. Also, we aren’t sure if this will expand out of Europe.

Samsung says, despite being a TV App, it’s crafted for a wholesome experience whilst being at home. As per the company, the TikTok App on TV will be similar and have ‘For You’ and ‘Following’ feeds. Additionally, it will also allow users to access the most liked and viewed content, #LearnOnTikTok for cooking hacks, fitness tips, etc.

Apart from this, the content on TikTok will organize content in 12 categories including Comedy, Learning, Sports, Travel, Animals, Art, Food, and more. That’s not all, as the TV App will also allow you to like, comment, and even Block/Mark not-so-interested content(Restricted mode). Good thing is, you can surf the App even without an account.

Ever since TikTok got banned in its biggest market India, the company has been handling tough challenges. The latest development in the USA is that, after temporarily escaping the ban, it is now facing an appeal from the US government.

Anyway, a sweet deal with Samsung will be a sign of relief as TikTok can now reach millions of homes across Europe. That said, the announcement says apart from this, TikTok can also be downloaded via Samsung Smart TV App Store and will be pre-installed in future TVs as well.
