Samsung launches the Freestyle Portable Projector in India for ₹84,990 ($1,211)

Samsung has just launched its new premium portable projector in India. The company had recently unveiled the Freestyle Projector that was available for pre-orders earlier this month and is now finally available for purchase.

The South Korean tech giant had first unveiled the Freestyle portable projector during CES 2022 back in January. Although, it is not just a simple projector as it also doubles as a smart speaker or an ambient lighting device as well. The company made this product targeting millennials and the younger demographic who’d want a projector that can be used on the go and offers various functions. The Samsung Freestyle is capable of projecting on between 30 inches to 100 inches.

Furthermore, its viewing angles can also be adjusted thanks to its cradle design and 180 degree rotation support. It weighs just 800 grams, so it is quite light and easy to carry around. Users can simply place in on the floor, table, walls, or even the ceiling. Notably, it can also optimized projection based on the color of the wall it is projecting the images/videos on if there is no white background available. The device is also equipped with auto keystone, auto levelling and autofocus features for improved picture quality. The Freestyle also comes with support for OTT apps like Netflix, Hulu, and more. It supports screen mirroring and comes with a USB Type C port for charging.

It features a omnidirectional 360 degree sound with a built in speaker. The device can also be transformed into an ambient light with a prism lighting effect thanks to its translucent lens cap. It even supports Samsung Bixby and Amazon Alexa voice assistants as well. Other features include, Airplay 2 support, a Micro HDMI port, 1920 x 1080p native resolution, HDR10 support, and an optional waterproof and scratch free case. It is available for purchase on Amazon and company’s retail stores fo ra price of 84,990 INR (roughly 1,121 US Dollars) but certain banks are also offerings discounts.

There are loads of handy and compact mobile projectors offering several features and functionalities. Samsung’s latest portable smart projector, The Freestyle is now available to be pre-reserved from March 18 till March 28. Samsung India is offering the projector for Rs. 2,000 (~$27) with a slight further discount also available upon receiving the product.

The Freestyle portable projector was showcased by Samsung during CES 2022. Its 180-degree design offers some degree of versatility for the projector. It is lightweight, with a weight of about 0.8kg, and offers the full complement of the big screen size, autofocus, and it is capable of delivering high-quality images, even images with angular orientation.

The Freestyle projector has Samsung Smart TV capabilities and supports iOS and Android devices for mirroring, casting, and smart connectivity. The projector is bound to deliver an all-round immersive experience when using it. It also has built-in Bixby and Alexa Voice Assistant, as well as eARC support. The Freestyle portable projector has IPV6 rating for water resistance.
