<h2>Mijia Smart Temperature and Humidity Sensor 3 Mini Specs</h2>

<p>At just 43 × 43 × 12.5mm, the Mijia 3 Mini is compact and lightweight, making it easy to place anywhere. Compared to its predecessor, the Mijia Bluetooth Temperature and Humidity Sensor 2, this model features a larger 2.1-inch LCD screen with a slimmer 5.1mm bezel. The upgraded design offers more screen space for better visibility, making temperature and humidity readings easier to check at a glance.</p>

<p>The sensor delivers 0.1°C accuracy for temperature and 1%RH precision for humidity, with real-time data refreshes every six seconds. Xiaomi says this level of precision helps users maintain a comfortable indoor climate, ideally between 19-27°C and 20%-85%RH.</p>

<p>Beyond basic monitoring, the Mijia 3 Mini connects to Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem through Bluetooth Mesh. It can be paired with a Mijia Bluetooth gateway to automate home appliances via the Mijia app. Users can set up triggers for their air conditioners or humidifiers to activate automatically based on temperature changes.</p>

<p>It also supports voice control via Xiao Ai, Xiaomi’s smart assistant, allowing hands-free access to real-time temperature and humidity updates.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" data-id="673655" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2-1024x1024.jpeg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mijia Smart Temperature and Humidity Sensor 3 Mini" class="wp-image-673655" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2-1024x1024.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2-300x300.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2-150x150.jpeg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2-768x768.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2-696x696.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2-1068x1068.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2-420x420.jpeg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Xiaomi-Mijia-Smart-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-3-Mini-2.jpeg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>Battery performance is another highlight. The sensor runs on a CR2450 button battery, offering up to three years of battery life in long-lasting mode or two years in standard mode. The longer endurance setting increases battery life by about 50%, but at the cost of slightly slower automation response times.</p>

<p>Xiaomi has included a visual comfort indicator using emoji symbols. A smiley face appears when conditions are ideal, while a frowning face signals discomfort.</p>

<p>For users who want to track environmental changes over time, the sensor supports three months of on-device data storage and six months of cloud storage via the Mijia app. This makes it easier to analyze trends and adjust home conditions accordingly.</p>

<p>The Mijia 3 Mini is designed to fit seamlessly into any space. It comes with double-sided adhesive stickers for easy wall mounting, making it suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, offices, or even bathrooms, as long as it is kept away from direct water exposure. Its small size also makes it a convenient travel companion for monitoring hotel room conditions.</p>

<p>Built from high-quality ABS materials, the sensor is durable and resistant to wear. However, it is not waterproof, so users should avoid excessive moisture or submersion in water.</p>

<p>In related news, Xiaomi has expanded its smart home lineup with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/17/xiaomi-mijia-central-air-conditioner-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mijia Central Air Conditioner Pro</a> and introduced a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/15/xiaomi-mijia-refrigerator-pro-508l-launched-specs-price/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">new ultra-thin smart fridge</a> featuring dual cooling and a freezing capability of -30°C.</p>

Ahead of the official announcement, several details about the device have leaked online.</p>
<p>Now, a <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2022-07-03/apple-aapl-iphone-apple-watch-take-a-back-seat-to-the-mac-in-chip-upgrades-l55d87p9">new report</a> from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg for Power On newsletter claims that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8 could come with a body temperature sensor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-461175 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/apple-watch-series-8-render-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple Watch Series 8 Render Leak" width="800" height="454" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/apple-watch-series-8-render-leak.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/apple-watch-series-8-render-leak-300x170.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/apple-watch-series-8-render-leak-768x436.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/apple-watch-series-8-render-leak-696x395.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/apple-watch-series-8-render-leak-740x420.jpg 740w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>It is said that by using the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sensor">sensor</a>, the smartwatch will be able to determine if the user is running a fever but it won&#8217;t be able to give an exact reading of the body temperature. As of now, it will be able to detect spikes in body temperature and determine if the user should see a doctor or not.</p>
<p>The company is reportedly in the internal testing phase for the body temperature sensor and if it passes through the test, then it will be incorporated in the upcoming Watch Series 8 lineup but may not make its way to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch-se">budget SE lineup</a>.</p>
<p>Apart from the addition of this new sensor, the upcoming smartwatch lineup from the technology giant won&#8217;t have major new features but will most probably consist of minor upgrades, including better display for the high-end models.</p>
<p>Currently, the company has not revealed anything related to the Apple Watch Series 8 but given the track record, we expect the devices to officially get launched in a few months along with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-14">Apple iPhone 14</a> lineup.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-369721 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screenshot-243.png?x44794" alt="Metalenz" width="1371" height="856" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screenshot-243.png 1371w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screenshot-243-300x187.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screenshot-243-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screenshot-243-1024x639.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screenshot-243-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screenshot-243-1068x667.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Screenshot-243-673x420.png 673w" sizes="(max-width: 1371px) 100vw, 1371px" /></p>
<p>According to a <em><a href="https://venturebeat.com/2021/02/04/metalenz-raises-10-million-for-3d-sensors-that-are-1000-times-smaller-than-a-hair/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">VentureBeat</a></em> report, the company stated that the investment will enable it to scale production and even accelerate the development of other technologies as well. This includes miniature optics on a chip technology along with a new lens that can power next generations of imaging sensors, with applications in consumer electronic products like smartphones, the health care industry, and even the automobile industry. In other words, the new sensor technology could allow lenses to capture brighter images and enable higher quality infrared pictures as well.</p>
<p>These higher quality lenses could also bring improvements to the camera modules found in smartphones, boosting their photographic capabilities and making them more appealing to consumers. Simply put, these new sensors could help bring professional looking images even in unfavorable scenarios while also offering longer lasting battery life as well. Various smartphone makers are working on including 3D sensors in their camera modules. At the moment, companies like Apple include multiple image sensors in the rear camera modules to render 3D imagery.</p>

<p>Metalenz has raised the money through multiple firms including the likes of 3M Ventures, Applied Ventures, Intel Capital, M Ventures, and TDK Ventures, and more. These new sensors are based on meta-optic technology that was pioneered at Harvard University. The company&#8217;s CEO Devlin added that &#8220;over the past 20 years, most of the advances in camera and sensing technology in consumer electronics has been to electronics and algorithms, but the optics themselves have remained relatively unchanged. At Metalenz, we’re providing new functionality to lenses that enable large-scale production in the same semiconductor foundries making the electronics for the first time.&#8221;</p>

<p>Lumi is known for making sensors and joined the Xiaomi ecosystem back in 2015. Its Aqara lineup is quite popular with the sensors being used in a wide variety of fields and the latest one offering a high precision sensor that can capture the movement of both people and animals. The sensor can map with a high level of accuracy as well, even being able to capture the micro movements of the human palms.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/11/sony-playstation-5-selling-three-times-price-china/">Sony PlayStation 5 is selling at three times its retail price in China due to supply shortage</a></strong></h6>
<p>To describe the new Aqara system briefly, it is essentially a device that holds multiple sensors that can act as a single high precision sensor. Furthermore, the product can run with devices that feature the Zigbee 3.0 gateway function. Using the attached sleeve accessory, the sensor can be mounted in various different spaces, including the ceiling like a downlight or on the walls.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-353397 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/s_fa021b8dc55c4d788f70e78287d3e7bc.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi" width="600" height="527" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/s_fa021b8dc55c4d788f70e78287d3e7bc.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/s_fa021b8dc55c4d788f70e78287d3e7bc-300x264.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/s_fa021b8dc55c4d788f70e78287d3e7bc-478x420.png 478w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The body of the Lumi Aqara Human sensor features an IPX5 waterproof rating standard, which can prevent accidental damage due to spillage. This also allows it to be installed in areas with high moisture content. Another notably aspect about the new device is that the sensors are built with an ultra low power consumption design which allows it to run for up to 6 years on standby.</p>
