<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In 2019, the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m40/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy M40</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> was the costliest Galaxy M series smartphone. Unlike other cheaper handsets in the series, it </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/11/samsungs-galaxy-m40-is-a-300-snapdragon-675-powered-phone-with-a-punch-hole-display/"><span style="font-weight: 400">featured</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> a punch-hole LCD panel and a Qualcomm chipset, Snapdragon 675 to be exact. This very same phone even launched as </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a60/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy A60</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> in select markets.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Then, in 2020, the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m51/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy M51</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> has now become the expensive Galaxy M series phone. This handset features a monstrous 7,000mAh battery, the largest in a </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Samsung/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Samsung</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> smartphone. Also once again, this device is powered by a Qualcomm chip &#8211; Snapdragon 730G. However, it comes with an </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OLED/"><span style="font-weight: 400">AMOLED</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> display compared to an LCD panel on the Galaxy M40.</span></p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: </strong><a title="Samsung deploys personnel in India to set up its OLED production facility" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/06/samsung-display-factory-set-up-india/" rel="bookmark">Samsung deploys personnel in India to set up its OLED production facility</a></h6>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Now, according to the sources of </span><a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/exclusive-next-high-end-galaxy-m-phone-galaxy-m42"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">SamMobile</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, Samsung is developing a new handset with model number </span><b>SM-M625F</b><span style="font-weight: 400"> and 256GB storage. Going by its model number, the publication and its sources suggest this device to launch as </span><b>Galaxy M62</b><span style="font-weight: 400">. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">This means it may take on the mantle of the expensive Galaxy M series smartphone whenever it launches. Also, it will be the first Galaxy M series phone with 256GB internal storage but it may be available in a lower storage option as well.</span></p>
<figure id="attachment_258502" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-258502" style="width: 720px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-258502 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Galaxy-M40-featured.png?x96852" alt="Galaxy M40 featured" width="720" height="420" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Galaxy-M40-featured.png 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Galaxy-M40-featured-300x175.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Galaxy-M40-featured-696x406.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-258502" class="wp-caption-text">Samsung Galaxy M40</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Having said that the so-called Galaxy M62 will most probably debut next year and share some specs with the upcoming </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Galaxy-A52/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy A52</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> and </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Galaxy-A72/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy A72</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Perhaps, it may also come with a </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Qualcomm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Qualcomm</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> chipset, AMOLED display, and 7,000mAh battery.</span></p>
