Garmin has announced the Enduro 4, the newest model in its line of endurance-focused smartwatches. It costs $899.99 and goes on sale October 9th. Like previous Enduro models, this watch is designed primarily for trail runners, hikers, and people who spend long periods away from a charger.

The watch comes with impressive battery life, lasting up to 36 days in standard smartwatch mode. This can be extended to 90 days with solar charging, provided the watch receives three hours of direct sunlight daily. Xiaomi has announced a new variant in its wearable lineup, the Watch S5 Transparent Edition, which launched today alongside the standard 41mm Watch S5. The new model is priced at 2,499 yuan ($372) and will be restricted to a production run of just 5,000 units.

Design Details

The differentiator for this model is its casing. Instead of the usual aluminum, titanium, or stainless steel chassis found on most smartwatches, Xiaomi has built the 47mm octagonal watch body using a transparent material it refers to as Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0.

The design allows light to pass directly through the middle frame, exposing the internal structural elements of the device. To provide necessary structural rigidity and a bit of visual contrast, a brushed stainless steel bezel is embedded directly into the glass case.

Using glass for a watch chassis raises practical questions about durability, given that wrist-worn wearables are frequently subjected to accidental bumps and scrapes against doors and desks. Xiaomi claims to have addressed this by using a single piece of glass that undergoes a particularly lengthy manufacturing process.

According to the company, each case requires 20 distinct manufacturing steps, which include 240 minutes of CNC precision machining and 800 minutes of multi-stage polishing to achieve the clear finish.

The resulting glass has a Vickers hardness rating of 810 HV0.05. This specific material is designed to resist scratches and daily wear. Furthermore, the company says that unlike clear plastics, silicones, or resins that are sometimes used in transparent tech products, this glass will not discolor or turn yellow over time.

On the interface side, the watch ships with a custom red watch face designed to look like a traditional mechanical timepiece. This aesthetic choice is a direct nod to the company’s smartphone lineup, specifically mirroring the design language of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series Transparent Special Edition.

Vivo has announced the Watch 6 alongside its new X500 series smartphones, bringing a few high-end materials to a relatively budget-friendly price point. The main takeaway for this year’s wearable is that sapphire crystal glass is now standard across the entire lineup, starting with the base model priced at 999 yuan (around $149).

The smartwatch is available in three configurations. The entry-level Bluetooth model is joined by a standard eSIM version for 1,399 yuan (roughly $208), and a top-tier Titanium eSIM variant for 1,999 yuan (about $298).

Vivo Watch 6 Specifications

On the hardware side, the base and standard eSIM models use a 316L stainless steel frame weighing 44 grams, while the premium model swaps that for a TC4 aerospace-grade titanium alloy, dropping the weight to 37 grams. Both chassis designs are 9.5mm thick, not counting the sensor bump on the back.

In terms of health tracking, the Vivo Watch 6 features eight-channel heart rate and 16-channel blood oxygen sensors, with support for continuous heart rate, SpO2, sleep, and stress monitoring. Vivo claims 97.2% average heart rate accuracy across different exercise scenarios compared to professional chest straps, rising to 98.5% during running, walking, cycling, and hiking.

It also supports over 100 sports modes, including running form analysis and swing tracking for racket sports. All-day HRV monitoring will arrive through a future OTA update.

As a smartwatch, it covers the basics with NFC for payments and transit, digital car key support, and Vivo’s BlueLM AI assistant for contextual reminders. The eSIM versions can handle calls, text messages, and navigation without a paired phone.

Battery life varies by model and settings. Vivo estimates the Bluetooth version will last 10 days under typical use, or up to 21 days with light usage. The eSIM model gets about seven days when tethered to a phone, or four days as a standalone device. Leaving the always-on display enabled caps battery life at around six days across the board.

The Watch 6 is available in Wilderness and Moonlight colorways, with a Natural Color finish reserved for the Titanium model.

It’s basically taking what the original Watch S could do and making the data more reliable when you’re moving around.

On the practical side, it still supports dual-device pairing so you can stay connected to two phones at once. Battery life looks strong: up to 10 days max, around 7 days with normal use, and about 4 days if you keep the always-on display on. There’s also Watch Fluid Cloud, which can push live updates for things like food delivery, ride-hailing, and navigation.

For a bit of context, the original Oppo Watch S launched on October 2025 in China starting at 1,499 yuan before rolling out globally earlier earlier this year for around €259. The S2 keeps the focus on being light and comfortable with multi-day battery life, while sharpening the fitness tracking and sensor accuracy.

Discovered by Burnplate and leaker @xleaks7, the patent outlines a device with a foldable display that can work as both a smartphone and a smartwatch. In smartwatch mode, it curves around the wrist with the display facing outward.

Magnets hold the two ends together and may also let the “wristband” size be adjusted for different users. Take it off your wrist and straighten it out, and it becomes a phone. For a more traditional smartphone aspect ratio, the two halves can be separated and put back together side by side.

The concept is trying to solve a real-world problem. Foldable phones like Motorola’s latest Razr 70 series get smaller when closed, but you still need a pocket. Smartwatches give you constant access, yet their screens are tiny, and the app experience is limited. Motorola’s hybrid idea aims to get the best of both by letting the same hardware do double duty without needing two separate devices.

That said, the practical challenges are still big. With today’s technology, a device like this would probably feel thick and heavy when worn as a watch. The health side is where most of the changes are. ECG and blood pressure monitoring are still here, but Asus has added sleep breathing movement analysis and gait tracking as well. Neither feature is entirely new to the broader wearables market, but together they suggest Asus is trying to build a more complete picture of a user’s long-term health rather than simply recording daily metrics.

What’s interesting is how the watch fits into the company’s larger plans. Asus spent a good portion of its Computex presentation talking about AI-powered healthcare, and the VivoWatch 6 Plus appears to be part of that ecosystem. What makes the design different?

Both watches use a kid-focused design with a flippable and 360-degree rotatable body. The Watch Kids X1 comes with a soft silicone strap, while the Pro model adds a detachable design that lets the watch sit inside a camera case included in the box. Huawei says this lets children use it more like a camera for taking pictures.

The watches feature a 1.82-inch AMOLED display with a 480 x 408 pixel resolution and a pre-applied anti-sunlight screen protective film. Both models also include a 5MP 110-degree wide front camera and a 13MP rear camera for photos and HD video calls through Huawei’s FamCare app.

How does Huawei track safety?

Sensors include a barometer, gyroscope, accelerometer, optical heart rate sensor, magnetometer, and Hall effect sensor. Xiaomi says it is 1.4mm thinner than the previous generation, with 20% higher Vickers hardness and a 40% higher yield point. The design includes a raised stainless steel dial and an extra physical button. The added button can open the control center, access the shutdown or restart menu, and trigger an emergency contact shortcut when pressed three times.

Battery life is another major specification. The Redmi Watch 6 packs a 550mAh battery rated for up to 24 days with light use, 12 days with normal use, and seven days with intensive use. It also includes a linear motor with more than 20 vibration patterns for alarms, notifications, fitness alerts, and health updates.

For fitness and outdoor tracking, the watch supports more than 150 sports modes, 5ATM water resistance and independent GNSS. The GNSS setup uses dual L1 antennas and supports five systems for improved positioning accuracy. Xiaomi says the watch can automatically select the antenna with the stronger signal based on how it is being worn.

Health features include 24/7 heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, stress monitoring, sleep analysis, breathing exercises, abnormal heart rate alerts, low blood oxygen vibration alerts and women’s health management. Garmin Descent Mk3i is now available in a new 51 mm version with a silver and black titanium build. Garmin has priced this model at €1,599.99/US$1,599.99, and it is listed as ready to ship within a few days.

The device sits between a dive computer and a smartwatch. It comes with a 1.4-inch AMOLED display covered by sapphire crystal and is rated at 20 ATM, which means it is designed for dives up to 200 meters. Battery life is rated at up to 66 hours in dive mode, while smartwatch mode can last up to 25 days. With the always-on display enabled, that drops to around 10 days.

One of the main features is SubWave sonar support. This allows divers to send preset messages underwater to others using compatible devices, with a range of up to 30 meters. When paired with the Descent T2 transceiver, the watch can also track tank pressure and depth for up to eight divers within 10 meters.

Honor has quietly introduced a new budget smartwatch, and it’s clearly going after a very specific audience. The Watch X5i keeps things simple, keeps things cheap, and leans a lot on design.

At first glance, it looks very familiar. The rectangular shape, curved edges, overall layout, it’s hard not to think of the Apple Watch. But under the surface, this is a much more basic device.

Instead of a full smartwatch platform, the X5i runs on a lightweight RTOS, which means fewer apps and less complexity. That trade-off, though, helps quite a bit with battery life. Honor is claiming up to three weeks on a single charge in typical use, or around six days with always-on display enabled, which is honestly where this kind of watch makes more sense.

The display itself is an AMOLED panel with a 450 x 390 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Nothing cutting-edge, but more than fine for notifications and basic use. There are also over 180 watch faces, so at least there’s some room for customization.

On the health side, it covers the usual basics. Heart rate tracking, SpO2, stress monitoring, plus sleep tracking and menstrual cycle tracking. There are also 109 sports modes to accompany users through their workouts and track progress. It sounds like a lot, though in practice most people will probably stick to a handful.

One slightly unexpected addition is two-way Bluetooth calling support. The watch includes a speaker and microphone, so you can take calls directly from your wrist when it’s connected to your phone, and even make calls when it’s more convenient than reaching for your phone.

Build-wise, it’s fairly lightweight, with a plastic body and IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. That should be fine for everyday use, but it’s not really meant for swimming or anything beyond light exposure.

The Watch X5i works with both Android and iOS, which helps widen its appeal a bit.

At 229 yuan (roughly $33), it’s clearly not trying to compete with premium smartwatches. It’s more about offering the basics in a design that looks more expensive than it is. And for that kind of price, the battery life alone might be enough for a lot of people.

No word yet on when it might launch outside China, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see it show up in more markets soon.

To ensure this powerful positioning system operates reliably and efficiently, the watch incorporates a new frame design. A sandwich structure is employed, wherein the metal mid-frame transfers energy to the top floating titanium bezel via the dielectric bezel, generating circularly polarized signals that align effectively with satellite signals.

Even when running or walking in an urban canyon surrounded by towering buildings and dense trees, performance remains impressive.

It can be stated with certainty that during a recent 40-kilometer run, no noticeable drift in positioning or tracking occurred. For specifics, the following record is provided: a total of 7.07 kilometers was run back and forth along a riverbank, with careful attention to maintaining a consistent route. The route recorded by the watch closely matched the actual path, and the individual distance consistently remained around 3.03 kilometers.

My preferred running location is a sports park featuring an irregular 545-meter track, part of which winds through a wooded area. The recorded route consistently demonstrated excellent consistency lap after lap. Distance accuracy was also tested at another sports park with a 3-kilometer track by a mountain. After completing one lap and walking for a few extra seconds at the end, the watch recorded a distance of 3.01 kilometers—the most accurate reading recorded to date. For nearly all runners, accurate route tracking facilitates better monitoring of pace, stride, and other important metrics during training.

This is also among the most valuable benefits derived from the GT Runner 2: greater training consistency and improved self-awareness. Previously, the relationship between running performance and physical condition was difficult to assess accurately. Now, by strictly adhering to the training plans provided by the GT Runner 2, it is possible to track physical performance metrics and identify specific exercises that contribute to improved running performance. The plan includes specific weekly sessions such as easy runs, core strength training, progressive tempo runs, lower-body strength training, and steady long runs. Detailed exercise guidance is provided for each session, and the watch automatically records progress. If the watch detects that your metrics are not matching the workout intensity, it will work with the HUAWEI Health app to suggest lowering the intensity, helping you adapt more effectively to the rest of the training plan.

For those committed to improving their personal best, the GT Runner 2 paired with the HUAWEI Health app currently represents an excellent choice—a professional, ongoing training plan is delivered without high additional cost. Especially for amateur runners like me, this smart mode arrives at the perfect time, playing a key role in preventing improper training and reducing the risk of injury.

Innovative Sports Tracking

In addition to enhanced running tracking, the GT Runner 2 effectively builds upon the innovative sports tracking features developed in previous HUAWEI Watch generations, particularly the GT and Ultimate models, including golf, cycling, and hiking. For golf, the watch and app come preloaded with maps of golf courses in most countries and cities worldwide. Courses can be searched, downloaded, and synced to the watch. For outdoor adventure, the watch offers extensive offline maps for most countries, many of which are available with contour lines.

Sufficient Battery Life

Battery life is also impressive given the watch’s focus on athletic performance. Connectivity is limited to Bluetooth, NFC, and specific health and fitness devices, which contributes to extended battery life during workouts. Under normal daily use, including 1.5 hours of exercise tracking per day, the watch lasts over a week on a single charge. The included charging dock additionally provides extremely fast charging.

Multi-platform software compatibility

Currently, the most compatible mobile operating systems are undoubtedly HarmonyOS and EMUI. Since the global version of the GT Runner 2 runs on EMUI, this ensures that its features are nearly perfectly transferred to other Android phones. The only thing to note is that, due to restrictions on background app management imposed by other phone brands, you’ll need to manually enable settings such as “Background Protection” and “Ignore Battery Optimization.” When used with iOS, a small number of features may be limited, but overall, it still delivers one of the best smartwatch experiences outside the Apple Watch ecosystem. If you can accept that trade-off, it offers even more comprehensive sports tracking than most smartwatches, including the Apple Watch series.

Hassle-Free Wearing

Finally, the wearing experience merits discussion. For a watch with such impressive performance, the weight is just 43 grams on the wrist (measured with the default strap)—clearly designed to be lightweight for running.

At the same time, the default AirDry Woven Strap is truly exceptional; it is the most skin-friendly strap encountered. The strap quickly wicks away moisture after a run or even a swim, keeping the wrist dry and cool. It offers greater comfort than any sports silicone strap previously used. The reviewer’s wrist skin is particularly sensitive to sweat, and rashes often resulted from straps with poor breathability. The GT Runner 2’s strap has completely resolved this issue.

Conclusion

Personally, it is unlikely that this watch will need replacement for several years (mainly for running and hiking). As a powerful, smart running companion, no notable shortcomings can be identified on the smartwatch. A different watch might be chosen for aesthetic reasons or to match my outfit. But in terms of battery life and location tracking, the GT Runner 2’s current performance is difficult to surpass.

Polar Electro has introduced the Street X, a new sports smartwatch aimed at users who want fitness tracking in a more durable, everyday form factor. The device combines training tools, recovery tracking, and long battery life with a design built for regular city use.

Street X features a 1.28-inch AMOLED touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Huawei has started selling the Watch GT Runner 2 in more regions, including markets like Germany, as it expands availability of its running-focused smartwatch.

The Watch GT Runner 2 is designed mainly for runners, not as a general smartwatch. It uses a titanium alloy build across the case, bezel, crown, and buttons. The watch measures 43.5mm by 43.5mm and is 10.7mm thick. It weighs about 34.5g without the strap, making it light for long runs.

Huawei includes a new AirDry woven strap with a hollow design to improve airflow. The company says it increases breathability by 25 percent compared to earlier straps. A second fluoroelastomer strap is also included for workouts where sweat and water are more of a concern.

The watch has a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution and peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. This helps with outdoor visibility. It uses second-generation Kunlun Glass for durability.

Huawei is focusing heavily on running features. The Watch GT Runner 2 includes an Intelligent Marathon Mode co-creation with DSM-Firmenich Running Team. It offers structured training plans, race preparation tools, and support for major marathon events or custom runs.

The watch tracks advanced metrics such as lactate threshold, running power, training intensity, and a Running Ability Index. It can also predict finishing times based on past data. Battery life is rated at up to 14 days under light use, around 7 days with typical use, and up to 32 hours in outdoor workout mode with precise positioning. It supports wireless charging, NFC, Bluetooth calling, standalone music playback, and QR code scanning. It works with Android and iOS, though some features are limited on iPhones.

The watch is priced at £349 in the UK and around $420 to $466 depending on the region.

At Mobile World Congress 2026, TECNO announced an upgrade to its AIoT ecosystem. The update is built around TECNO OneLeap, a new interconnection platform that connects smartphones, tablets, PCs, and other smart devices. The company also introduced three new products: the MEGAPAD 2 AI tablet, the Watch GT 1S smartwatch, and the FreeHear 2 open-ear earbuds.

TECNO OneLeap is designed to make multi-device use simple. Devices are discovered automatically and can be connected with a single drag or tap. There is no need for repeated logins or complex setup. Discovery, connection, management, and cross-device interaction are handled in one unified interface.

OneLeap supports three-device collaboration across smartphones, tablets, and PCs at the same time. Trusted devices reconnect automatically. With Keyboard and Mouse Sharing, users can control three screens using one keyboard and mouse. A unified clipboard allows instant sharing of text and files. Images copied on a smartphone can be pasted directly into documents on a tablet or laptop. These tools are built to improve workflow across multiple screens.

The platform also offers flexible display options. A smartphone can mirror to a laptop, while a tablet works as an extended PC display. This enables a three-screen setup.
