The service, which is called Snapchat+, gives access to some exclusive and pre-release features.</p>
<p>The development comes at a time when the company&#8217;s primary source of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/revenue">revenue</a> have been impacted and the company has given a disappointing sales outlook for the current quarter a couple of months back.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-467951 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus.png?x10805" alt="Snapchat+ Subscription Service" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus-1536x864.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Snapchat-Plus-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>Although the new subscription service is a part of the company&#8217;s strategy of a new revenue stream, Jacob Andreou, Snapchat’s senior vice president of products doesn&#8217;t expect it to become the primary revenue source for the company.</p>
<p>Currenlty, Snapchat+ includes pre-release, experimental and exclusive features such as pining close friend as a BFF and customizing the app’s icon. The company says that it is intended for the “most passionate members” of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapchat">Snapchat</a>.</p>
<p>It is now available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.</p>
<p>There are other <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/social-media">social media</a> platforms that have introduced subscription services. Last year, Twitter announced the Blue subscription for ad-free access to the platform, costing $2.99 per month. Recently, Telegram <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/06/21/telegram-premium-launched-globally/">introduced a new Telegram Premium</a> service.</p>

<p>Years after the launch of second-generation and third-generation Spectacles, the company is now finally bringing them to the Indian market. Snap has also created a dedicated website for the Indian market.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-329560 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Snap-Spectacles-3.png?x10805" alt="Snap Spectacles 3" width="940" height="529" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Snap-Spectacles-3.png 940w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Snap-Spectacles-3-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Snap-Spectacles-3-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Snap-Spectacles-3-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Snap-Spectacles-3-746x420.png 746w" sizes="(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px" /></p>
<p>As for the availability, the Spectacles 2 and Spectacles 3 will be up for sale in India through the online marketplace <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/flipkart">Flipkart</a>. While the Spectacles 2 is priced at ₹14,999 (~$198) and comes in three colors &#8212; Onyx Eclipse, Ruby Sunset, and Sapphire Midnight, the Spectacles 3 is priced at ₹29,999 (~$397) and comes in Mineral and Carbon color options.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/04/27/2nd-gen-snapchat-spectacles-adds-waterproofing-still-photos-more-for-150/">second-generation Spectacles</a> were first launched in 2018. Along with the built-in camera, it features a water-resistant body and has a 30 percent smaller profile. It also comes with improved audio support.</p>

<p>On the other hand, the Spectacles 3 was first launched in August last year and it comes with a new minimalistic frame and two camera sensors to replicate stereoscopic vision. Unlike its predecessor, it is not water-resistant.</p>
<p>These smart glasses can be paired to the Snapchat account by looking at the user&#8217;s account Snapcode and pressing the button on the glasses frame. They can also be connected using Bluetooth for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone">iPhones</a>.</p>
<p>Spectacles glasses records video in a circular format because the company says that it&#8217;s closely approximate the field of view of the human eye. The recorded videos are stored internally and can be viewed and uploaded in the &#8220;Memories&#8221; of Snapchat.</p>

The redesigned AR glasses now come with a sleek new design and dual HD cameras that create depth perception.</p>
<p>The Snap Spectacles 3, priced a $380, will go on sale on Spectacles.com from November 2019. The glasses, which are claimed by the company to be a limited release, are twice as expensive as its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/04/27/2nd-gen-snapchat-spectacles-adds-waterproofing-still-photos-more-for-150/">predecessor</a> which costs $150.</p>
<p><img class="size-full wp-image-269940 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Snap-Spectacles-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Snap Spectacles 3" /></p>
<p>The Spectacles 3 comes with a new design having circular lenses in a squared-off frame. They come in two color options &#8212; Carbon and Mineral. The frame is made out of steel and as before the glasses are tinted, making them impractical after sunset.</p>
<p>This newly introduced glasses can capture images in a resolution of 1642 x 1642 and videos in a resolution of 1216 x 1216. As before, the content can be viewed within the Snapchat app in either portrait or landscape and the perspective remains the same regardless of how you hold the phone.</p>
<p><img class="size-full wp-image-269941 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Snap-Spectacles-3-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Snap Spectacles 3" /></p>
<div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><span style="color: #ff0000"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: </strong></span><a title="Huawei EMUI 10 First Update Rollout Schedule announced" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/13/huawei-emui-10-first-update-rollout-schedule-announced/" rel="bookmark"><strong>Huawei EMUI 10 First Update Rollout Schedule announced</strong></a></div></div>
<p>It comes with a 4GB onboard storage that can hold around 100 videos or 1200 photos. However, you have to transfer the files manually over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi as there&#8217;s still no automatic transfer. This seems like a missed opportunity to improve the user experience when the company is charging more than twice compared to its predecessor.</p>
<p>The battery lets you record up to 70 videos or capture over 200 photos on a single charge and takes 75 minutes to recharge. The glasses charge within their carrying case, which has a USB-C charging connector.</p>
<p>The major highlight of this new glasses is the presence of the second camera, which enables Spectacles to capture depth. The company has built a suite of new 3D effects that take advantage of the device’s new depth perception ability. The new 3D effects will be exclusive to Spectacles, and the company plans to let third-party developers design depth effects starting later this year.</p>
