The Poco M3 is available via Gearbest in three different colors of Black, Blue, and Yellow. Xiaomi Poco M3 is available in two storage variants – 64GB and 128GB for the price of $129 and $149, respectively. However, the user can get an $8 discount on the checkout page which reduces the price to $121 and $141 while paying with Paypal.

Poco M3 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM. The smartphone carries a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, a 400 nits brightness, and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. A quad-rear camera sits on the rear side with a 48MP primary camera. It is accompanied by three other cameras including a 2MP sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP front camera.

Poco X3 is also available from Gearbest at the price of $209 for 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. While the users need to shell in $229 for a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It is available in Gray and Blue color options. The user can grab the device at an effective price of $201. 

Poco X3 is powered with Snapdragon 732G SoC and coupled with 6GB RAM. There’s a massive 6.67-inch display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display offers a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming. There’s a quad-rear camera featuring a 64MP primary camera, a 13MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP Macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera. There will be a 5160 mAh battery coupled with 33W fast charging.

Earlier this month, it was rumoured that Qualcomm was planning to launch a new Snapdragon 732G processor. True to the rumour, the US fabless chipmaker has now announced the Snapdragon 732G SoC. The processor is an upgraded version of the SNapdragon 730 and 730G which were announced in April last year.

The new Snapdragon 732G comes with two major upgrades over the Snapdragon 730G. One of them is the main core with a higher clock speed of 2.3GHz as against 2.2GHz clock frequency on the SD 730G. The processor also comes with an Adreno 618 GPU which brings a 15% improvement in the GPU. Aside from these two improvements, all other features are the same as the 730G.

For clarity, the Snapdragon 732G features a Kryo 470 “Prime” core clocked at up to 2.3GHz and a second Kryo 470 “Performance” core clocked at up to 2.2GHz. There are also six Kryo 470 “Efficiency” cores clocked at up to 1.8GHz. The microarchitecture of the Prime and Performance cores are based on ARM’s Cortex-A76 design while the microarchitecture of the 6 Efficiency cores is based on ARM’s Cortex-A55 design. The SoC is fabricated on Samsung’s 8nm LPP process.

Further, the Snapdragon 732G also features several Snapdragon Elite Gaming features such as Qualcomm Game Jank Reducer, Vulkan 1.1 Graphics Driver, True HDR, and anti-cheat extensions. It also comes with the Spectra 350 Image Signal Processor with support for 4K HDR video capture, the 4th generation Qualcomm AI Engine with up to 3.6 TOPS, the Hexagon 688 DSP, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ support. The processor also features the Snapdragon X15 LTE Modem with support for 3-CA and 4×4 MIMO on two carriers, support for the Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 subsystem, and support for Qualcomm’s Aqstic audio codec, among other features.

What should interest fans of the POCO brand is the disclosure that the processor will be utilised by an upcoming POCO smartphone. Although the name of the smartphone wasn’t confirmed, earlier rumours tip it to be the POCO X3. The Poco X2 features a Snapdragon 730G SOC so it makes sense if the next-gen model packs a Snapdragon 732G chip.

Qualcomm has for several years enjoyed dominance of the flagship and midrange mobile chip segments but in recent times, MediaTek has staged a comeback with several impressive products including 5G chipsets. In its bid to continue to maintain its market leadership, Qualcomm has been releasing several mobile processors in quick succession. The US company is now rumoured to be planning to launch a new mid-range SoC known a Snapdragon 732G in September.

According to a Twitter tipster, the chipset utilises two Kyro 430 Gold and six Kyro 470 Silver cores clocked at 2.3GHz and 1.8 GHz, respectively. The processor will also have an Adreno 618 GPU. The leaker also adds that the Snapdragon 732G will be a 4G-only chip. The non-inclusion of a 5G modem may be to save cost. The source also added that the new SoC will be released alongside an under-$300 smartphone in Vietnam this September.

The rumoured Snapdragon 732G will likely be an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 730G. The SD730 comes with a similar architecture, that is 2x Kryo 470 Gold (based on Cortex-A76) cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6x Kryo 470 Silver (based on Cortex-A55) clocked at 1.8GHz. The difference is the higher clocking speed of the large cores on the unannounced chipset. The chip will also reportedly come with better AI comparability.

We can’t say for sure if this rumour has any credibility but we expect the slight improvement t translate to better performance in gaming and everyday use for smartphones that would utilise the chip.
