Recently, OPPO VP Brian Shen confirmed the existence of a phone called OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G which indicated that the OPPO may launch another phone named Reno 3 alongside it. Shen has shared only few details on the Reno 3 Pro 5G which will be debuting this month as the company’s first phone with dual-mode 5G. Today, a new OPPO phone that has a model number of PCPM00 has appeared on TENAA. The listing lacks its images but has revealed few details on its specs.

The OPPO PCPM00 is not a 5G smartphone. The device measures 160.2 x 73.3 x 7.9mm. It is slightly thicker than the OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G that is officially confirmed to arrive with a chassis that has a thickness of 7.7mm.

The Reno 3 Pro 5G is lightweight device even though it features a battery of 4,025mAh capacity whereas the PCPM00 phone that has been spotted has a minimum rated battery of 3,935mAh capacity. Its typical could be 4,025mAh. Lastly, TENAA has revealed the OPPO PCPM00 phone has a 6.4-inch. It remains to be seen whether it will be arriving with a punch-hole screen like the Reno 3 Pro 5G. Hopefully, the TENAA listing of the PCPM00 gets updated soon with its image and entire specifications. The OPPO PCPM00 is yet to appear on the database of 3C.

Today, LetsGoDigital has shared a new render of the OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G phone to showcase its full front view. It reveals that the device features a punch-hole display.

Earlier this week, a leaked screenshot of an upcoming OPPO phone had surface on Weibo. The image had revealed that the said phone may come with a punch-hole display as there was an unused area in the UI at the top-left corner. The aforementioned publication has shared a render of the Reno 3 Pro 5G.

As it can be seen in the render below, it features a punch-hole at the top-left corner of the screen. The side bezels of the phone appear almost non-existent as the screen curve towards the edges. The upper and lower bezels of the phone are also thin. This indicates that the phone will boast a very high screen-to-body ratio. It is speculated that the phone could be housing a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

The new leak has no new information on the specifications of the Reno 3 Pro 5G. As OPPO VP Brian She revealed, the device is equipped with a 7.7mm chassis with a glass rear. The device is equipped with a 4.,025mAh battery that will probably arrive with fast charging support. It will be a dual-mode 5G smartphone that could be powered by the Snapdragon 735 5G chipset. As it is known, it will be the first phone to arrive with ColorOS 7 UI preinstalled. Probably, the handset will boot to Android 10 OS.

The display punch-hole could be housing a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. The rear shell of the phone may house a quad camera setup with a 60-megapixel main lens. The Reno 3 Pro 5G is a very thin device that measures only 7.7mm in thickness. Despite featuring a slim chassis, the phone will be housing a larger battery of 4,025mAh capacity. It could be coming with support for fast charging technology.

Today, OPPO VP Brian Shen released the first teaser of the Reno 3 Pro 5G smartphone to reveal that it will be arriving with a slightly curved display. Shen has claimed that it may debut as the slimmest dual-mode 5G enabled smartphone in China.

In the below shown image, the display of the Reno 3 Pro 5G can be seen curving towards its edge. Shen has revealed that the thickness of the device is only 7.7mm. The predecessor Reno2 had come with a notch-less display and it featured a shark-fin shaped pop-up camera module that housed a selfie camera and an LED flash. It had a thickness of 9.5mm.

The thin-shaped power button can be seen on the right edge of the device. It seems to be featuring a notification LED. The volume rocker could be lodged on the left side of the device. While the entire display is not visible, it could be featuring an in-screen fingerprint reader.

Xiaomi Developers Conference was held this morning in Beijing, China today. At the event, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun reviewed the company’s progress towards launching 5G phones in the country. Jun announced that the Redmi K30 with dual mode 5G support will be made official in December.

While Jun confirmed the December arrival of the Redmi K30, he did not spill any information on its specifications. Interestingly, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing had recently said through a Weibo post that the Redmi K30 will launch next year. Probably, the Redmi K30 will break cover next month whereas the advanced Redmi K30 Pro may debut in early 2020.

At the recently held China Mobile Global Partners Conference Jun had stated that all Xiaomi phones priced above 2,000 Yuan (~$285) will arrive with 5G support. He had also revealed that the company will launch at least 10 5G phones in 2020. The Chinese firm will debut affordable 5G phones in the first half of the coming year.

The device is allegedly priced at 3,299 Yuan (~$470) for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant and 3,599 Yuan (~$513) for the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model. 

OPPO had launched the OPPO Reno2 smartphone in China in the previous month. Hence, it seems unlikely that the company will be launching the Reno 3 phone so soon in the home market. Probably, it may go official late December or in the beginning months of 2020.

Readers are advised to take the aforesaid information with a pinch of salt, as OPPO is yet to officially confirm any of these specifications or pricing.

In related news, OPPO is reportedly working on a flagship phone called OPPO Reno S for India. It seems to be a rebadged version of the Reno Ace for the country with a different primary camera. The Reno Ace has a 48-megapixel primary lens on its rear whereas the Reno S is expected to come with a 64-megapixel main lens on its back. It could be coming flagship features such as Snapdragon 855+ and 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge technology. It is expected to break cover in India in the first week of December with a pricing of Rs. 40,000 (~$563).

According to Twitter tipster Sudhansu Ambhoe, Qualcomm‘s upcoming Snapdragon 735 chipset will be built on a 7nm process. This is interestingly different from the 8nm LLP architecture which the current-gen Snapdragon 730 and 730G utilise. The US fabless chip manufacturer had launched the Snapdragon 730 and 730G back in April with components that confirm their target market is the upper midrange smartphone segment

The tipster claimed to have extracted the specs from a document, asserting this one to be the authentic details. They are noticeably different from the previously leaked details that ave popped online previously. The new detail reveals the chipset goes by the codename SM7250. It utilises a big Cortex-A76-based Kryo core clocked at 2.36 GHz and a second similar core clocked at 2.32 GHz. The chipset has an octa-core arrangement, so the rest of the CPU consists of six Cortex-A55 units, all clocked at 1.73 GHz. Powering the graphics (GPU) will be an Adreno 620, which is likely an upgrade over the Adreno 618, used on the Snapdragon 730.

Suggest Phone had leaked the purported specs details of the Snapdragon 735 back in April but these details are obviously different with the SoC having a more realistic CPU architecture.

Qualcomm will likely unveil the chipset before the end of this year, perhaps at its event in Hawaii.

While the race is on to offer flagship performance along with 5G spectrum, HMD Global is silently working on bringing 5G capabilities to the masses. Despite being a mid-ranger, the Nokia 8.2 5G still offers a lot of performance for its price. According to the good folks over at NokiaPowerUser, an anonymous source revealed the powerhouse behind the upcoming Nokia 8.2. The report claims that the phone is fueled by the forthcoming Snapdragon 735 by Qualcomm

The SD735 succeeds the SD730 and sits directly below the upcoming SD865, which is another next-generation powerhouse scheduled to arrive in 2020. The leak makes sense since HMD and Qualcomm have already revealed their plans of launching a 5G-compliant mid-range smartphone powered by an unreleased Snapdragon 7-series processor. The SoC features an upgraded AI Engine and is built using a 7nm architecture.

The report further reveals that the Nokia 8.2 5G is rumored to launch in three variants with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, 6 GB of RAM and 12 8GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage. It appears that the Nokia 8.2 5G could be the first phone from the Finnish firm to arrive with 8 GB of RAM. Previous leaks have revealed that the smartphone features a higher screen-to-body-ratio, pop-out selfie camera and a 64-megapixel quad camera setup housed in a circular module at the rear. 

HMD Global is expected to showcase the 8.2 5G at Mobile World Congress (MWC) tech trade show in Barcelona, Spain in February 2020. Rumors are rife that it will be an affordable 5G phone priced around $500. The smartphone is also expected to come in LTE only version.

The Snapdragon 700 series is Qualcomm‘s line of upper mid-range chipsets. The series includes the 10nm Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 712 SoCs; and the 8nm Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 730G SoCs. A new leak has revealed Qualcomm is developing a 7nm chipset that will be commercially known as the Snapdragon 735.

The Snapdragon 735 will be a 7nm chipset like the Snapdragon 855 which means power efficiency will be greater than the 8nm Snapdragon 730 duo. The sdm735 will be an octa-core processor with a 1 + 1 + 6 CPU cluster. It will have one unspecified Kryo 400 series core clocked at 2.9GHz paired with another Kryo 400 series clocked at 2.4GHz and six Kryo 400 series clocked at 1.8GHz.

The mobile platform will have an Adreno 620 GPU clocked at 750MHz with support for QHD (3360 X 1440) displays with a wide color gamut and HDR10/HDR10+. The SoC will also support up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

The Snapdragon 735 will have a Spectra 350 ISP just like the Snapdragon 730 that supports up to 32MP 30fps ZSL. There is also a new NPU220 for AI tasks clocked at 1GHz.

The processor will not only be a 7nm chipset like the Snapdragon 855 but also have an integrated 5G modem which means mid-range 5G phones are on the way. It will also support UFS 2.1, eMMC 5.1, and USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type C.

There is no info on when the chipset will be announced but it could be unveiled this year and start showing up in devices in 2020.
