<p>Some details of the Snapdragon 775 and 775G were reportedly spotted in a group chat on the Telegram forum <a href="https://t.me/xiaomiui/7666" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomiui</a> (<a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/qualcomm-snapdragon-775-leak-mid-premium-soc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">via</a>). A list purported to contain the specifications of the Snapdragon 775 and 775G was shared in the group showing the chipsets will be manufactured using the current 5nm process.</p>
<p>The Snapdragon 775 series is not new in the rumor mill. Last year, it was rumored that the chipset will be manufactured using the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/25/qualcomm-snapdragon-775g-6nm-launch-soon/"> 6nm process</a>.  The chip was even tipped to feature onboard the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/06/redmi-k40-to-launch-in-q4-2020-with-snapdragon-775-soc-report/">Redmi K40 in Q4 2020</a>. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/05/redmi-k40-k40-pro-hands-on-2021-flagship-killer-duo/">Redmi K40</a> was released recently and didn&#8217;t feature the Snapdragon 775.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Qualcomm-Snapdragoon-775-SoC-Leak.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-375327" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Qualcomm-Snapdragoon-775-SoC-Leak.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1024" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Qualcomm-Snapdragoon-775-SoC-Leak.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Qualcomm-Snapdragoon-775-SoC-Leak-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Qualcomm-Snapdragoon-775-SoC-Leak-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Qualcomm-Snapdragoon-775-SoC-Leak-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Qualcomm-Snapdragoon-775-SoC-Leak-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Qualcomm-Snapdragoon-775-SoC-Leak-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>The 5nm build process, if true, will offer faster and more power-efficient performance compared to the 7nm build which the Snapdragon 765 series utilized. The 5nm process is only utilized by the Snapdragon 800-series and that will bring the SD775 closer in terms of performance and power efficiency.</p>
<p>We can&#8217;t vouch for the authenticity of these details but XDA’s sources say the sheet looks like a genuine slide from an internal Qualcomm document but appears to be an outdated version. Thus, it is possible Qualcomm may have effected a change in the name considering how the Snapdragon 888 moniker took us all by surprise.</p>
<p>There are rumours that the Snapdragon 775 may be used on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite. The smartphone is expected to launch any moment from now. So, we may not have to wait for too long before the chipset is announced.</p>

<p>However, a new &#8220;SM7350&#8221; also appears along with &#8220;<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a>&#8220;. If we recall, Snapdragon 750G, 765G, 768G have part numbers SM-7225, SM-7250-AB, SM7250-AC respectively. And older SoCs like Snapdragon 730, 730G belong to the &#8220;SM7150&#8221; series. Thus, the SM7350 could be an upcoming SoC.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-363099" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/xiaomi-smartphone-with-sm7350.png?x10805" alt="" width="909" height="393" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/xiaomi-smartphone-with-sm7350.png 909w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/xiaomi-smartphone-with-sm7350-300x130.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/xiaomi-smartphone-with-sm7350-768x332.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/xiaomi-smartphone-with-sm7350-696x301.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 909px) 100vw, 909px" /></p>
<p>We also have a few reasons to believe this. Back in July, a tipster said that Redmi&#8217;s K40 and K40 Pro are coming with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/06/redmi-k40-to-launch-in-q4-2020-with-snapdragon-775-soc-report/">SM7350 and SM8350 SoCs respectively</a>. Out of this, Redmi has already confirmed that the Snapdragon 888 processor will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/07/upcoming-snapdragon-888-smartphones-in-2021-xiaomi-oneplus-nubia-oneplus-more/">debut on a Redmi device</a> in Q1 2021 and it could be the K40 Pro.</p>
<h6 class="related" style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">EDITOR&#8217;S PICK</span>: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/31/redmi-launch-cheapest-snapdragon-888-smartphone/">Redmi could launch one of the cheapest handset with Snapdragon 888: Report</a></strong></h6>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Later, a popular tipster Roland Quandt, in September said that SM7350 could be Snapdragon 775 and is codenamed &#8220;Cedros&#8221;. According to him, Qualcomm was working to close boundaries with flagship processors with this SoC.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Also, what could be Qualcomm&#39;s SD775 is SM7350 and seems to be codenamed &quot;Cedros&quot;.</p>
<p>&mdash; Roland Quandt (@rquandt) <a href="https://twitter.com/rquandt/status/1308931392554795013?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 24, 2020</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>The unannounced 7-series SoC also was reportedly tested with 12GB DDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, 120Hz screen putting the SoC in close quarters with 8-series SM8350. That said, Qualcomm is yet to officially reveal the processor.</p>
<p>And if reports are to be believed, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/03/new-snapdragon-7-series-could-be-coming-in-q1-2021/">SoC is coming soon in Q1 2021</a> which also falls in-line with the Redmi&#8217;s launch timeline. Either way, it looks like <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi-k40">Redmi K40</a> will sport a Snapdragon 7x processor(likely Snapdragon 775) but let&#8217;s wait for more details in the coming days.</p>

The alleged Xperia 1 III and Xperia 10 III are expected to go official in the first quarter of the coming year. Fresh information reveals that the Japanese tech giant is working on a compact. Probably, the company will bring back its Compact Xperia lineup next year.</p>
<p>A Weibo user has claimed that Sony will release a new 5.5-inch Compact series smartphone in the first half of 2021. He also revealed that the device will be driven by the upcoming Snapdragon 775 chipset. It is expected to go official as a lower variant of an existing model.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-355549" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Sony-Xperia-1-III-Compact-leak.jpg?x10805" alt="Sony Xperia 1 III Compact leak" width="1200" height="460" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Sony-Xperia-1-III-Compact-leak.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Sony-Xperia-1-III-Compact-leak-300x115.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Sony-Xperia-1-III-Compact-leak-768x294.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Sony-Xperia-1-III-Compact-leak-1024x393.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Sony-Xperia-1-III-Compact-leak-696x267.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Sony-Xperia-1-III-Compact-leak-1068x409.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Sony-Xperia-1-III-Compact-leak-1096x420.jpg 1096w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>

<p>Probably, the compact phone arriving next year could be the lower variant of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-875">Snapdragon 875</a> powered Sony Xperia 1 III that is expected to go official in Q1 2021. Hence, there is a possibility that its compact version could be dubbed as the Sony Xperia 1 III Compact. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-775">Snapdragon 775</a> chipset is expected to go official soon as the successor to the Snapdragon 765 / 765G that went official earlier last year.</p>
<p>There is no other information available on the specs of the rumored Xperia 1 III Compact. It is likely that the device will borrow most of its specs from the advanced Xperia 1 III. It is speculated that the Xperia 1 III will be the company’s first phone with quad rear cameras.</p>
<p>The Xperia 10 III could be driven by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-690">Snapdragon 690</a>. It is speculated that the Xperia L5 could be equipped with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/helio-p35">Helio P35</a> chipset. The L5 is also expected to go official in Q1 next year.</p>
