While several reports have talked about its successor model, the Finnish firm has steered away from launching a flagship device. Fresh information shared by the Nokia Power User claims that the company is working on an upper mid-range phone with a penta-lens setup, which will be succeeding the Nokia 8.3 5G smartphone. Probably, this device may arrive in the market as an X-series phone.

The report claims that the Nokia 8.3 5G’s successor will be sporting a penta-lens setup with a 108-megapixel primary camera. The device will not be coming to the market as the Nokia 8.4 5G, but it is likely to be called Nokia X50.

The handset is expected to feature a 6.5-inch PureDisplay V4 that that offers a Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The report states that it is powered by the smartphone will be powered by the unannounced Snapdragon 775G chipset (SM7350 model number).

The device is likely to be powered by a 6,000mAh battery. Recently, a 6,000mAh battery for an upcoming Nokia phone was spotted at the TUV certification platform. The listing revealed that it will arrive with support for 22.5W rapid charging.

There is no word on the other cameras of the alleged Nokia X50 phone. However, the penta-lens setup is expected to include an ultrawide lens, a depth sensor, a macro shooter, and a telephoto snapper. The device is likely to feature ZEISS optics and OZO Audio technology. The report has no other information on its specifications.

It is not clear whether Qualcomm will be launching a chip called the Snapdragon 775G. The recent behind it is that the US-based chipmaker has already announced the 5nm Snapdragon 780G chipset as the successor to the older Snapdragon 765/765G chip. The part number of this chip is SM7350-AB. Hence, it is not clear which processor will be fueling the alleged Nokia X50.

Its IMEI database listing revealed that the moniker of this device is Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G. After FCC, the handset bagged certifications from other platforms like India’s BIS, Thailand’s NBTC, Singapore’s IMDA, Europe’s EEC, Malaysia’s SIRIM, and Bluetooth. The leaked images of the phone have now appeared on Weibo to reveal its appearance in reality.

In the first image, the M2101K9AG model number can be seen at the bottom. The device can be seen running on MIUI 12 Global based on Android 11 OS. The handset is powered by an unknown octa-core processor that clocks at 2.3GHz. The SoC is coupled with 6 GB of RAM. The second image showcases the rear design of the smartphone. It seems to feature a glass back with a square-shaped camera module housing a triple camera setup and an LED flash.

It is speculated that the Snapdragon 775G is a 5nm chipset with Cortex-A78 architecture. It was revealed by the same tipster that a prototype test had revealed that the SoC could score around 530,000 on AnTuTu benchmarks. The chipset is said to carry support for up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a 120Hz refresh rate display.

The new leak reveals that the upcoming Xiaomi/Redmi phone has an OLED panel with a single punch-hole design. It is said to be equipped with a 64-megapixel primary camera and it is likely to carry support for 5x zoom. The tipster also revealed that it carries fast charging capabilities. Hopefully, newer reports will reveal the identity of this device.

By the next quarter, we expect OPPO will announce the Reno5 series as details have begun surfacing. Today, a leak revealed the names of the phones in the series and their respective processors, one of which is a chipset that is yet to launch but that we have heard of before.

The source of the leaker is Really Asen Jun, and according to him, there will be three Reno5 phones. They are the Reno5, Reno5 Pro, and Reno5 Pro+. Knowing OPPO, these phones may launch under a different name in other markets. The leaker goes on to reveal the chipsets that are expected to power the three phones.

The Reno5 will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 775G. This chipset was expected to be announced in June but it still has not been announced. The Snapdragon 775G should bring new features and a higher processing power than the Snapdragon 765G which has turned out to be the go-to chipset for several manufacturers launching mid-range 5G phones.

The Reno5 Pro and Reno5 Pro+ will both feature the Snapdragon 860 Mobile Platform, another processor that is yet-to-be-announced. News of the Snapdragon 860 first surfaced earlier this month, and even then, it was linked to OPPO.

While we know little about these processors, we are pretty sure they will have 5G modems. While OPPO did release 4G variants of the Reno4, we do not think it will do the same for the Reno5 series.

The Snapdragon 775G is expected as the newest addition to the Snapdragon 7 series mid-range SOCs. The chip will reportedly be shipped in small scale in mid-June and compared to the Snapdragon 765, the performance has reportedly been improved by 40% while the upgraded GPU is 50% better. It also features Vulkan support.

Although, we can’t vouch for the authenticity of this information the processor is likely the Qualcomm SM7350 which is rumoured to be the successor to the SD 765G. The details of the chipset are not known at this moment.

The rumour also tips the device to run on the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 775G chipset. The phone is said to bear the internal codename “Gauguin and will be equipped with a 64MP main camera while the high-end version, possibly the CC10 Pro will have a 108MP camera. The phone is expected to be unveiled in July.

The Mi CC9 series was introduced in July last year. Fresh information reveals that the company could be working on Mi CC 10 lineup and it may debut in the next month. It is speculated to come with a 108-megapixel camera along with support for 120x digital zoom.

A Russian tech blog has revealed some vital information on an upcoming Xiaomi phone that is codenamed as CAS. It is believed to be a family member of forthcoming Xiaomi Mi CC 10 lineup.

The blog states that the company has been working on the CAS phone since the beginning of this year. Its 108-megapixel lens won’t be the Samsung HMX sensor that has been previously seen on phones like Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, Mi 10, and Mi 10 Pro. Instead, it could be featuring an improved version of the same lens that is codenamed as HM2.

The inclusion of the new lens will not only bring support for up to 120x digital zoom, but also 12x optical zoom. Such a high optical zoom on a smartphone will be made possible through the periscope zoom lens technology that the company previously employed on the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition smartphone.
