In this conference, the company plans on unveiling its next gen flagship mobile chipset, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1-plus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+</a>. However, prior to this event, a new leak has revealed some interesting details regarding this chipset, so lets have a look.</p>
<figure id="attachment_457923" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-457923" style="width: 221px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-457923 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-Plus.png?x10805" alt="Qualcomm" width="221" height="239" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-457923" class="wp-caption-text">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+</figcaption></figure>
<p>The chipmaking giant&#8217;s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus (SM8475) is based on a 4nm process. This chipset is will apparently feature an overall boost in performance thanks to a 10 percent overclocking. The processor will still retain the &#8220;1+3+4&#8221; core cluster architecture, which consists of a Cortex X2, Cortex A710, and the Cortex A510. According to a known Weibo tipster (a Chinese microblogging website), the CPU and GPU of architecture are still the same, but with an improvement of energy efficiency of 30 percent.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-461240 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/unknown.png?x10805" alt="Qualcomm" width="646" height="247" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/unknown.png 646w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/unknown-300x115.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 646px) 100vw, 646px" /></p>
<p>Similarly, its power consumption has also be lowered by 30 percent as well. In other words, along with the 10 percent improvement in performance, this chipset will also have better endurance overall. The tipster added that this is the only official data as of right now, although, the actual performance of the mass produced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip is still unknown. For those unaware, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ will replace the existing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</a> and will soon be featured in upcoming flagship smartphone models from various brands.</p>

Recently we got to know that both the foldables will land in new colors. Now according to a fresh leak, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset under the hood.</p>
<p>Tipster Ice universe revealed through a <a href="https://twitter.com/UniverseIce/status/1522401750052876290">tweet</a> that Samsung’s upcoming foldables will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. The tipster seems pretty confident about his claim and if his claims are to be believed then we can expect a boost in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-z-fold-4/">Galaxy Z Fold 4</a> and Flip 4 performance.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">I confirm again that Fold4 and Flip4 will use TSMC  Snapdragon 8 gen1 plus (SM8475)</p>

<p>Thanks to <a href="https://twitter.com/heyitsyogesh/status/1518456266737078277">Yogesh Brar</a>, we know that the plus version of Qualcomm’s flagship chip will be manufactured by TSMC. The <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1-plus/">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus</a> is expected to be 10% faster than the 8 Gen 1 and more power-efficient.</p>
<p>Previous reports have revealed that the Z Fold 4 will be fueled by the same 4,400mAh battery as its predecessor. However, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/04/30/samsung-galaxy-z-flip4-rumored-bigger-battery-capacity-galaxy-z-flip3/">Z Flip 4 is said to have a bigger battery</a> than the Flip 3. We’re told that the overall battery capacity of the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-z-flip-4/">Galaxy Z Flip 4</a> is 3,303mAh. Better battery life is expected from both phones since they are likely to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-421614 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/0fcc2b78-ddce-4e10-80cc-b449f177d194.png?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="773" height="621" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/0fcc2b78-ddce-4e10-80cc-b449f177d194.png 773w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/0fcc2b78-ddce-4e10-80cc-b449f177d194-300x241.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/0fcc2b78-ddce-4e10-80cc-b449f177d194-768x617.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/0fcc2b78-ddce-4e10-80cc-b449f177d194-696x559.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/0fcc2b78-ddce-4e10-80cc-b449f177d194-523x420.png 523w" sizes="(max-width: 773px) 100vw, 773px" /></p>
<p>If we talk about the specs, the Z Flip 4 is expected to have<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/05/galaxy-z-flip-4-and-z-fold-4-may-arrive-in-new-colors-says-analyst/"> a larger 2-inch cover display</a>, while the Fold 4 is rumored to have improved camera sensors. Recent leaks also revealed that the smartphones <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/05/galaxy-z-flip-4-and-z-fold-4-may-arrive-in-new-colors-says-analyst/">will arrive in new colors</a>.</p>
<p>We’re still in the dark about the prices of the foldables. However, it is expected that Samsung will launch these phones at an affordable price this year. The previous year, Z Fold 3 cost a whopping $1,799 and Flip 3 came with a price tag of $999.</p>
