The scores posted on the benchmarking app was less than impressive, which led us to believe that OnePlus may have throttled the Snapdragon 810 inside the new flagship.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54073" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus 2 a2001 antutut" width="440" height="762" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut-173x300.jpg 173w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut-243x420.jpg 243w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>However, earlier today, we came across another AnTuTu benchmark of the same OnePlus 2 A2001 model. This time it managed to score over 63,700 points! Yes, finally, we can see some powerful scores posted by the octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset, which is even above the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro top version.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54072" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus 2 a2001 antutu 02" width="440" height="763" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02-173x300.jpg 173w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02-242x420.jpg 242w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>But what does this mean? One possibility is that the 51K score was posted by a prototype model, which was throttled to a great extent. Even though 51K on AnTuTu is not a bad score, Snapdragon 801 was powerful enough to post the same score. So, a new generation chip like Snapdragon 810 is expected to at least beat this score by a nominal margin.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53971" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png?x44794" alt="Snapdragon 810 performances" width="720" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-420x420.png 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-640x640.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-681x681.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a></p>
<p>What we can take from this score is the performance capacity of the new Snapdragon 810 chipset. However, this does bring back the issue about overheating. Given that OnePlus has promised that it won&#8217;t happen, we will have to wait and see whether the chip inside OnePlus 2 is throttled to a great extent or not.</p>
<p>Stay tuned for more details.</p>
