<p style="text-align: justify;"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91689" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screen-Shot-2016-07-28-at-4.33.11-PM.png?x10805" alt="Mi5S price analyst" width="598" height="369" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screen-Shot-2016-07-28-at-4.33.11-PM.png 598w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screen-Shot-2016-07-28-at-4.33.11-PM-300x185.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Redmi series is known for its low price tag but that has changed with the release of the Redmi Pro which has a starting price of 1499 Yuan ($224) and goes up to 1999 Yuan ($299), setting the record for the most expensive Redmi phone. But that shouldn&#8217;t come as a surprise since the Redmi Pro is sporting a number of new features the company hasn&#8217;t put on a phone before, such as  the use of dual rear cameras and an OLED display.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91484" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/b418a7a1jw1f68gagp62bj21hc0u0te0.jpg?x10805" alt="redmi pro official" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/b418a7a1jw1f68gagp62bj21hc0u0te0.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/b418a7a1jw1f68gagp62bj21hc0u0te0-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/b418a7a1jw1f68gagp62bj21hc0u0te0-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/22/xiaomi-mi5s-said-come-pressure-sensitive-display-ultrasonic-fingerprint/">Mi 5s is reported to also launch with dual cameras. It will have a glass body, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and an advanced pressure sensitive display.</a> The Mi Note 2 on the other hand will feature a snapdragon 821 SoC and an advanced pressure sensitive 2K display as well but with a curved edge. These new features will definitely see them having higher price tags but which are still competitive enough for them to give the competition a run for their money.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77614" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi mi note 2" width="610" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-300x213.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-600x426.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-255x180.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 are expected to launch next month before the release of the iPhone 7s (sevens) in September.</p>

Already, speculations have started to heighten about the identity of the smartphones that will be among the early birds to feature the new SD821 processor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-88691" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/nexus2cee.png?x10805" alt="Nexus Marlin &amp; Sailfish" width="668" height="668" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/nexus2cee.png 668w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/nexus2cee-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/nexus2cee-300x300.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px" /></p>
<p>Quite a number of smartphones have been tipped to feature the new chipset with names like the upcoming <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/06/xiaomi-mi-note-2-coming-july-25/" target="_blank">Xiaomi Mi Note 2</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/16/leeco-launch-8gb-ram-phone-featuring-snapdragon-821-processor/" target="_blank">LeEco&#8217;s expected flagship</a>, and even the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/04/the-galaxy-note-7-may-feature-a-larger-display-than-we-know/" target="_blank"> Samsung Galaxy Note 7 </a>said to feature this upgraded Snapdragon 821 version.</p>
<p>In addition,<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/05/render-image-2016-nexus-marlin-and-sailfish/" target="_blank"> Google&#8217;s upcoming Nexus devices dubbed Nexus Marlin and Sailfish</a> is believed to feature this new top-end chipset according to reliable information from multiple sources</p>
<p>Based on information from multiple and reliable sources, we believe it is extremely likely both of Google&#8217;s upcoming Nexus phones, <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/06/23/exclusive-specs-for-sailfish-the-smaller-of-two-upcoming-htc-built-nexus-devices/">Sailfish</a> and <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/06/30/exclusive-specs-for-marlin-the-larger-of-two-upcoming-htc-built-nexus-phones/">Marlin</a>, will be using the Snapdragon 821.</p>
<p>The details about the specs both Nexus phones will feature have been hazy all these while but<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/22/rumor-mill-snapdragon-821-might-show-upcoming-nexus-phones/" target="_blank"> it had earlier been rumored that the Nexus Marlin alone will feature the Snapdragon 821 processor</a>. The new information takes it to an all new level, that both the Nexus Marlin and Nexus Sailfish will feature the Snapdragon 821 processor, internally known by its model designation MSM8996 Pro.</p>
<p>But then its all a rumor, nothing is certain until it is officially announced. However, as long as Qualcomm doesn&#8217;t unveil a faster<em> </em>820-series of the Snapdragon in the next couple of months, we can probably be rest assured that both Nexus Marlin and Sailfish will be rocking the Snapdragon 821 processor on launch day.</p>
<p>(<a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/07/11/its-very-likely-the-2016-nexus-phones-will-use-qualcomms-snapdragon-821-processor/" target="_blank">Source</a>)</p>
