If you follow the smartphone industry, you might be aware of Samsung and its love for software updates. The company promises 4 years of updates to all the Galaxy smartphones. True to its promise, Samsung has reportedly released its latest security update to a nearly four-year-old Galaxy Note 9. Currently, the update is available only in a few European countries.

As reported by Sammobile, the newly released software update for the Galaxy Note 9 has the firmware version N960FXXS9FVE1. The update is currently available in Germany, but other European countries are anticipated to receive it in the coming days. The May 2022 security patch fixes a lot of privacy and security vulnerabilities. It consists of Android OS fixes issued by Google and vulnerability fixes on Samsung’s own software.

If you live in Germany and own a Galaxy Note 9, you can now download and install the newest software update by going to Settings » Software update and selecting Download and install.

Technically, Note 9 shouldn’t be receiving this update because back in 2021 Samsung moved it to a quarterly update schedule. However, over the past seven months, the phone has been updated four times in December, January, February, and April. Now, we have a Galaxy Note 9 update for May 2022 carrying the latest security patch.

To recall, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 launched back in August 2018 with a Super AMOLED display, versatile dual-camera, a huge 4000mAh battery, and the S-Pen. The smartphone came with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 under the hood and 6GB RAM paired with 128GB Storage.

Last month, LG introduced the LG Velvet 5G smartphone. The Snapdragon 765 SoC powered 5G-ready mid-range phone comes with an impressive design. A Persian tech site Toranji revealed that LG is working on a 4G edition of the LG Velvet. The publication has revealed that the LG Velvet 4G is driven by the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform that powered many Android flagship phones in 2018. The handset that has LM-G910 model number has also surfaced on Geekbench benchmarking platform.

The Persian website claimed that the 4G version of the LG Velvet will be heading to the markets in the Middle East. The handset is expected to arrive with 20 percent cheaper pricing compared to its 5G variant. LG Iran is yet to confirm on the existence of the LG Velvet 4G. Since the device is also certified by Anatel, a wireless regulator from Brazil, the LG Velvet 4G could be also releasing in other markets. 5G networks are yet commercialized in Iran and Brazil.

The Geekbench 5 appearance of the LG Velvet 4G once again confirms the presence of Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. The device is loaded with Android 10 OS. It scored 440 and 2090, respectively on the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench.

The 4G edition of the LG Velvet could be borrowing some of its specs from its 5G counterpart. The key specs of the LG Velvet (LM-G900 model number) include 6.8-inch P-OLED Full HD+ notch display, up to 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage, 16-megapixel selfie camera, 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 5-megapixel triple camera system and 4,300mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

Xiaomi seems to have discontinued the Mi Mix 3 that was launched back in 2018. It was the last commercially available Mi Mix series phone by the company in China. Notably, the Mi Mix 3 5G model was never released in the Chinese market. Also, the current-gen Mi Mix Alpha surround screen phone is merely a prototype and is not yet available for sale.

The Chinese smartphone maker has removed the listing of Mi Mix 3 on its official website suggesting it to be discontinued. It does make sense since the device is now over one and a half years old and Xiaomi itself offers better products for less than the asking price of the Mix 3. Nevertheless, if you are interested in this device, you can still buy the Forbidden City limited edition priced at 4,999 Yuan (~$712).

The Mi Mix 3 by Xiaomi was launched back in October of 2019 powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The device was available in up to 10GB RAM and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage. It featured a full-screen display design, courtesy of a manual slider mechanism. The AMOLED panel of the phone measured 6.39-inches with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels (FHD+), 403 PPI, 19:5:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection.

The handset featured a 12MP primary + 12MP telephoto dual-camera setup at the back and a 24MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the front for selfies and video calls. It was launched with MIUI 10 based on Android Pie and was later updated to Android 10-based MIUI 11. Initially priced at Rs. 49,999 (~$695), the device is now priced at Rs. 34,999(~$487). The Rs. 15,000 (~$208) discount can be availed at both online and offline dealerships across the country. The Finnish firm is yet to announce whether the updated price is a limited period deal or will last indefinitely.

This is the first price drop for the Nokia 9 PureView following its launch back in July 2019. The company has listed the handset with no-cost EMI benefits for up to 9 months on certain credit cards. The device is available in a single shade of blue. The sudden price drop could indicate the arrival of the much-hyped Nokia 9.2 PureView, which is rumored to sport the world’s first under-display selfie camera. In April, Vivo had debuted its gaming phone brand called iQOO by launching the Vivo iQOO smartphone. In July, the Snapdragon 845 chipset powered edition of the phone was introduced with iQOO Neo moniker. A fresh leak reveals that iQOO could be working on an affordable Snapdragon 855 version of the iQOO Neo smartphone.

In the above shown Weibo post, the tipster has claimed that the a Chinese factory brand is gearing up to launch a sequel for the low-price-high-performance smartphone powered by Snapdragon 845 that it had launched in July. The only SD845 phone that had debuted in July is the iQOO Neo smartphone. Hence, he could be talking about the arrival of the more powerful version of the iQOO Neo handset.

The tipster has said that instead of Snapdragon 845, the phone will be featuring the Snapdragon 855 SoC. It 22.5W fast charging technology will be swapped with 33W rapid charging. The handset has an OLED screen with waterdrop notch. Its other rumored features include in-screen fingerprint scanner and 4,500mAh battery. Also, the phone will be arriving with an enticing price tag. In comparison, the Vivo iQOO phone has a 4,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging technology. Hence, it appears that iQOO could be now working on a new smartphone that will be positioned between the iQOO Neo and iQOO handsets in China.

The iQOO Neo’s highest model with 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage is priced at 2,298 Yuan (~$327). On the other side, the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition is the base model of the Vivo iQOO and it is priced at 2,698 Yuan (~$375). Hence, it appears that the iQOO Neo sequel with SD855 could be priced 2,298 Yuan and 2,698 Yuan. It is advisable to wait for newer reports to know about the next phone iQOO.

The iQOO Neo has a waterdrop notch enabled 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display. It has a fingerprint under embedded under its display. The Snapdragon 845 mobile platform is assisted by up to 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM. The handset comes in 64 GB and 128 GB storage editions.

Master Lu, a benchmarking platform for smartphones from China has released its list of top 10 best performing smartphones for July 2019. The list includes some smartphones that are powered by new chipsets such as Snapdragon 855+, Kirin 810, Snapdragon 730, Snapdragon 730G and Helio P65. The list is led by the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G gaming smartphone.

The Axon 10 Pro 5G leads Master Lu’s best performing smartphones list with 409,008 score. It is followed by Snapdragon 855+ powered ASUS ROG Phone 2 gaming smartphone with a score 390,015. Placed on the third position is the Snapdragon 845 powered iQOO Neo gaming phone with a score 330,801. Master Lu claimed since the benchmarked ROG Phone 2 was an engineering unit, it recorded a low score. Probably, the final product is benchmarked, it may take over the numero uno position on Master Lu benchmarks list. By next month, the list may include new phones like Black Shark 2 Pro and iQOO Pro 5G phones that are powered by Snapdragon 855+.

The Huawei Mate 20 X 5G with 299,866 score is on fourth. It is fueled by the Kirin 980 chipset. The fifth position goes to Kirin 810 chipset powered Honor 9X Pro. It has recorded a score of 267,339. The Nova 5i Pro that features the same SoC as 9X Pro is sixth with 262,425 score. The Honor 9X is the third Kirin 810 in the list with a benchmarking score of 260,087.

Huawei P30 has acquired 157.28 points to gain the first position in Master Lu’s top 10 best smartphone. The second place Nubia Red Magic Mars smartphone with 154.88 points. Nokia India has teased the official launch of the Nokia 9 Pureview through a tweet that ends with “Coming Soon”. The Finnish smartphone manufacturer unveiled the flagship device at the Mobile World Congress back in February 2019.

The India launch of the device was long overdue. Earlier rumors suggested that Nokia plans to bring the flagship smartphone to their Indian customers in June. But that turned out to be a bummer. There is no official word on the launch date or pricing as of yet. But a previous report had claimed that the flagship smartphone will be priced around the Rs. 60,000 (~$872) mark.

Nokia Pureview 9 Specifications and Features

The Nokia 9 Pureview comes with a 5.99-inch QHD+ pOLED display with 2560 x 1440-pixel 2K resolution. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is the first Nokia phone to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Following the success of Vivo’s iQOO gaming smartphone, Vivo is back with another gaming smartphone – the iQOO Neo; and based on its specs and price which starts at under $300, this device may set new sales records.

To keep the price low, iQOO has trimmed down some features present in its first gaming smartphone but even at that, you will be hard pressed to find a phone that is as feature-rich as the iQOO Neo with its price tag.

The iQOO Neo (Neo is short for New Era is On according to iQOO) has a 6.38-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Between the display and the frame is a slit for the speaker. iQOO also managed to include a notification LED beside the speaker. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner and support for face unlock too.

One of the ways the iQOO Neo is able to have a low price tag is as a result of its processor. Rather than a Snapdragon 855 chipset, it uses last year’s Snapdragon 845 processor which is a beast nonetheless. It will handle anything thrown at it and with 6GB/8GB of RAM, you should be fine. Interested buyers will be able to choose between 64GB or 128GB of storage for each RAM variant.

On the back of the iQOO Neo sits a triple camera array. The first sensor is an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera and it is followed by the primary 12MP f/1.79 camera and then a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Sitting inside the notch in the display is a 12MP f/2.0 sensor.

While the iQOO Neo does not pack as much processing power as its sibling, it does have a bigger battery capacity – 4500mAh which should last a full day even if you decide to burn some time playing PUBG. And with Vivo’s FlashCharge 22.5W fast charging technology, you should be back up and running in the shortest time possible. iQOO says the battery should provide up to 10 hours of gaming (King of Glory).

The iQOO Neo still has some interesting features. There is liquid cooling to keep the device’s temperature low when playing CPU-intensive games. It also has 4D Game Shock 2.0, anti-Bluelight eye protection, touch acceleration, a dedicated game mode, DC Dimming, dark mode with support for up to 300 different apps, and a dedicated Jovi Assistant button painted orange. It also has an audio jack and a USB Type-C port.

The iQOO Neo runs FunTouch OS 9 based on Android 9 Pie. It comes in Carbon Black and Neon Purple. Below are the prices for the different variants:

• 6GB + 64GB = ¥1798 (~$260)
• 6GB + 128GB = ¥1998 (~$290)
• 8GB + 64GB = ¥2098 (~$305)

Yesterday, Vivo’s iQOO gaming division had released DC dimming feature for iQOO smartphone users through a FunTouch OS update. Today, the Chinese firm has shared a video on Weibo to confirm that the upcoming iQOO Neo gaming phone will be also equipped with DC dimming. The video also showcases the front design of the smartphone.

It is a known fact that an OLED panel can flicker if its brightness is reduced. Such screen flickering can cause eye strain. Hence, smartphone OEMs are bringing DC dimming feature that prevents screen flickering issue on phones with OLED displays by adjusting the DC current. Companies are providing DC dimming through software update for OLED smartphones. There are some phones that offer DC dimming feature out of the box and iQOO Neo is one of them.

In the above video, the company has placed two iQOO Neo smartphones besides each other. The brightness on both devices is low because of which one can easily notice screen flickering on the two iQOO Neo handsets. The iQOO Neo gaming phone is scheduled to go official on July 2. A week before its unveiling, Vivo iQOO has added a product page with images of the iQOO Neo phone on the official website. The images reveal that the smartphone will be arriving in two colors like a purple-blue gradient and black. The company is now receiving the reservations of the phone.

The Vivo iQOO Neo product page on the official website does not feature the exact pricing of the phone. The reservations of the phone will be carried out until July 2. The product page has no information on the specifications of the smartphone.

In terms of the design of the display and rear panel, the iQOO Neo resembles a lot with the iQOO flagship phone. The smartphone is fitted with a waterdrop-style notch screen with a slightly thick chin. The right side of the phone has a volume rocker and a power key. A dedicated red colored button probably for accessing Jovi AI assistant is available on the left spine of the device.

The Black model has a textured appeal and looks like the Samurai Black version of the iQOO smartphone. A vertical triple camera setup can be found at the top-left corner of the device. The module also includes an LED flash. The rear camera setup design of the phone is slightly different from the iQOO smartphone that has a separately placed LED flash for the triple camera sensors. The lack of fingerprint scanner from the rear side of the iQOO Neo suggests that it could be embedded under its display.

The official iQOO Weibo account shared a new poster of the upcoming smartphone and it shows Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor is the SoC under the hood.

Vivo’s iQOO won’t be the first brand to launch a phone with the flagship chipset from the previous year. The Nokia 9 PureView uses a Snapdragon 845 processor, the LG G7 One released last year is powered by the Snapdragon 835 from 2017, and Samsung and Huawei’s flagship tablets are usually powered by an older flagship SoC though that changes this year.

The Snapdragon 845 is a pretty powerful processor and will handle anything you throw at it. And the fact that it isn’t the latest flagship SoC should mean the iQOO Neo will be more affordable.

The phone will have a 6.38-inch display with a waterdrop notch, triple rear cameras, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 4420mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging.

At the end of the previous month, a new Vivo phone with model number 1914A was spotted on Geekbench benchmarking platform with Snapdragon 845 chipset. The model number has bagged 3C approval in China. It is speculated that it could be the purported Vivo iQOO Youth Edition smartphone.

The Vivo V1914A smartphone that has been spotted on the database of 3C has appeared along with V2323A-CN and V2323B-CN chargers that were also spotted during Vivo X27’s 3C certification. The 3C listing of the Vivo V1914A suggests that it may carry support for 22.5W rapid charging.

Could the Vivo V1914A be the rumored iQOO Youth Edition gaming phone? In the recent past, two posters claiming that the phone will be arriving in Snapdragon 845 and Snapdragon 710 versions have been spotted. Both posters have claimed that these variants will be coming with 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of inbuilt storage and 4,000mAh battery.

In the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, the smartphone has respectively scored 2321 and 8041 points. In March, a report had claimed that the iQOO gaming phone will be debuting in India in June. The report had claimed that another iQOO phone may also debut in the country alongside it. While Vivo is yet to confirm the arrival of iQOO gaming phone in India, the report did the developments on the second iQOO phone. Readers are advised to wait for concrete information on the iQOO Youth Edition to confirm on its existence.

AnTuTu benchmarking platform has released its list of top 10 best performing smartphones in China for the month of April 2019. The list has been compiled on the basis of average AnTuTu benchmark scores between April 1 and April 30. The benchmarking platform has carried out benchmark tests on at least 100 units per model. The list is mainly dominated by the Snapdragon 855 SoC powered phones and the top three devices in the list belongs to Xiaomi.

The first position in the list is occupied by Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition with an average benchmarking score of 373,715. The second position is acquired by Xiaomi Mi 9 that has scored 373,511 on AnTuTu. Xiaomi’s Black Shark 2 gaming phone comes third with an AnTuTu score of 371,837.

Placed on the fourth is the new entrant Meizu 16s smartphone with a score of 370,306. The Vivo iQOO Monster edition gaming-focused smartphone with 12 GB of RAM has recorded 363,360 on the benchmarking platform. The Samsung Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 smartphones have respectively scored 395,936 and 358,726 on AnTuTu.

The Vivo iQOO standard edition is placed on the eighth position with 354,138 score. All the aforementioned smartphones mentioned in the list are powered by Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. The Snapdragon 845 SoC powered Nubia Red Magic Mars gaming smartphone is on the ninth position with a score of 310,612. The last phone in the list is the Honor V20 that is equipped with Kirin 980 SoC. It has scored 306,289 on AnTuTu.

Hopefully, these phones will rank higher on the May month’s best performance smartphones list that will be released in the coming month.

Popular smartphone benchmarking app AnTuTu has released the list of top 10 best performing Android smartphones in March 2019 for global markets. The February’s month list was led by Samsung Galaxy S10+, Honor V20 and Huawei Mate 20 X smartphones. The top three position for the month of March is led by Snapdragon 855 mobile platform driven phones followed by three Exynos 9820 SoC powered smartphones.

AnTuTu’s list of top 10 best performing Android smartphones in March 2019 for global markets has been compiled through data accumulated between March 1 and March 31 by testing at least 1000 units per model. The smartphones were benchmarked using the latest AnTuTu Benchmark V7 app. The scores mentioned for each phone are not their highest score, but average benchmarking score.

The Snapdragon 855 powered Xiaomi Mi 9 is leading the pack with 371,423 points. The second place goes to Snapdragon 855 edition of Samsung Galaxy S10 that has scored 358,845. The Vivo iQOO Monster edition which is also fueled by the same SoC is placed third with 356,004 score.

The Galaxy S10+ Exynos 9820 model is on the fourth position with 332,118 score. The Galaxy S10 with Exynos 9820 onboard is sitting on the fifth position with 328,446 score. The sixth position is held on by the Galaxy S10e which is also powered by the same Exynos SoC.

The Kirin 980 SoC powered Honor V20 from China has occupied by the seventh place with 301,003. The Mate 20 X smartphone that possesses Kirin 980 SoC has dropped to eighth spot with an AnTuTu score of 300,707. The third Kirin 980 powered phone – Huawei P30 Pro has entered the list for the first time on ninth position with an average benchmarking score of 298,572.

On Sunday, HMD Global had announced couple of smartphones such as Nokia 210, Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 9 PureView. Except for the last one, others are all budget-friendly devices. The Nokia 9 PureView is the world’s first smartphone to feature five rear-mounted cameras. A Chinese publication has shared couple of sample shots that were captured using the Nokia 9 PureView handset.

The back panel of the Nokia 9 PureView has 7 round-shaped cutouts on its rear shell. It includes an LED flash, a 3D ToF (Time of Flight) sensor and the remaining are five 12-megapixel sensors. The ZEISS branded penta-lens setup include a pair of 12-megapixel RGB sensors and three 12-megapixel monochrome sensors.

When a user snaps a photo using the Nokia 9 PureView, all the five camera sensors function simultaneously to capture the image with different exposure like the Light L16 camera that features 16 camera sensors. Multi-frame synthesis algorithm kicks in to synthesize an image with topnotch quality.

The five cameras can collect tenfold more light than a conventional camera setup. Also, the presence of a ToF sensors creates a depth map for depth of field rendering. The publication that has shared the camera samples of the Nokia 9 PureView has claimed that the Nokia 9 PureView is equipped with Light’s ISP since Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor synthesis of up to three shots. Nokia 9 PureView comes preinstalled with Lightroom. By using it, users can edit the RAW photo.

After months of leaks, HMD Global has unveiled the Nokia 9 PureView flagship phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. The USP of the smartphone is that it is equipped with marvelous five rear-mounted cameras. Also, it is equipped with some interesting features such as HDR10 compliant display, in-screen fingerprint reader, wireless charging and more. Design and Display

The Nokia 9 PureView has a glass rear and an aluminum frame. It is an IP67-rated water-resistant and dustproof device. It measures 155 x 75 x 8mm and weighs 172 grams.

The Nokia 9 PureView is fitted with a 5.99-inch OLED display that carries support for 2880 x 1440 pixels quad HD+ resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio, HDR10 and Always-on display. The display of the phone is shielded by Gorilla Glass 5. Also, it’s the first Nokia phone that comes with an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.

Cameras and Software

Google Photos app can natively support the photos taken through Nokia 9 PureView. When it comes to video shooting, it can support for 4K HDR video shooting at 30 fps.

Sitting at the frontside of the phone is a 20-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture with Tetracell pixel bining technology that can merge four pixels into one for brighter images in low-light conditions. The front camera carries support for AI Face Unlock

As is the usual tradition, AnTuTu has released a list of its top ten Android phones based on performance for the month – this time for January 2019. The list has some new entries but the top three devices are unchanged from last month’s.

The Nubia Red Magic Mars is at the top once again with a total of 320,996 points and it leads the Huawei Mate 20 which comes in at second place by a fair margin. The Honor V20 with its Kirin 980 chipset closes the top 3 with 306,567 points.

Huawei again takes the fourth spot with the Mate 20 X and its sub-brand is fifth with the Honor Magic 2. Another gaming phone makes the list and it is the Black Shark Helo. The Mate 20 Pro follows at number seven, down two spots from December’s list. The OnePlus 6T keeps its position from the last time.

The mSound 2.0 technology makes it possible for the smartphone to emit sound from the screen which eliminates the need for earpiece and external speaker. The Meizu Zero is an IP68 certified dustproof and waterproof device. It is equipped with linear motor powered pressure-sensitive virtual buttons for power and volume. The rear panel of the smartphone is made up of ceramic. There is no SIM card slot on the device but carries support for eSIM.

At the launch, the company had confirmed that the Meizu Zero phone would be available in Black and White color choices.

The mSound 2.0 screen sound technology which is closely attached to the display of the Meizu Zero allows it to produce sound through the display of the phone. Hence, there is no earpiece on the device. Li Nan said that advantage of screen sound technology is that users can listen to phone call even when the device is held upside down. The Meizu Zero is fitted with a curved 5.99-inch OLED screen which is embedded with an optical fingerprint sensor. The handset sports a thin and light profile.

The exact size of the battery of the Meizu Zero is not known. Li Nan claimed that after working on for 2 years along with 75 related patents, the Super mCharge 18W wireless charging which is equivalent to 18W wired fast charging has been introduced on the Meizu Zero smartphone.

A smartphone labelled as “Xiaomi POCO F2” has been spotted on Geekbench. The name of the smartphone suggests that it could be the successor of the well-received Poco F1 budget-friendly flagship phone from Xiaomi. As usual, the Geekbench listing of the Poco F2 has revealed key information on its CPU, RAM and OS.

The Poco F2 listing on Geekbench reveals that it is fueled by Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. The original Poco F1 also features the same chipset and RAM. The Poco F2 is loaded with Android 9 Pie OS. In the single-core benchmarking test of Geekbench, the handset recorded a score of 2321. In the multi-core test, it has scored 7564.

Since the Poco F2 is equipped with the same processor and RAM as the predecessor model, it appears that it will be arriving with improvements in other departments such as display, camera and battery. The Poco F1 features a wider notch that houses a 20-megapixel selfie shooter and an IR sensor for dim-light facial recognition. Probably, the Poco F2 could be equipped with an improved display with smaller notch.

Flagship phones from Xiaomi have failed to gain popularity outside of China. Hence, the company reportedly established the Pocophone sub-brand to sell affordable flagship phones. The Poco F1 that features a polycarbonate build is the cheapest Snapdragon 845 chipset powered handset.

Xiaomi has recently rolled out the Android 9 Pie update with MIUI 10 skin for the Poco F1. It is equipped with a 6.18-inch IPS LCD screen that supports full HD+ resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. For photography, the Poco F1 has 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup on its rear. The back shell of the smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner. The handset includes a 4,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4+.

The Poco F1 is selling with a very enticing price tag of Rs. 19,999 (~$286). Poco has recently released Kevlar back enabled Armoured Edition model for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB variant of the Poco F1. It is now selling with a price tag Rs. 23,999 (~$343).

As far as Xiaomi POCO F2 is concerned, it is advisable to wait for further leaks to confirm its existence and learn more about it features.

Samsung has adopted new strategy of bringing flagship-like feature on its mid-range Galaxy A lineup. The Snapdragon 660 powered Galaxy A9 (2018) was introduced as the world’s smartphone with rear-mounted quad cameras in October. The Snapdragon 710 driven Galaxy A8s smartphone that was launched recently in China comes with the new innovative Infinity-O display that features a hole in the screen for the front-facing camera. Previous leaks have suggested that the Galaxy A10 is an upcoming smartphone from Samsung. A popular Chinese tipster has claimed that it will be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Multiple leaks have revealed that the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus that are rumored to go official will be featuring an under-display fingerprint sensor which is more accurate that than the optical in-screen fingerprint reader that are available on the recently released Vivo, OPPO, OnePlus, Huawei and Xiaomi phones. Rumors have it the Galaxy A10 could be featuring an optical under-display fingerprint sensor. There is a possibility that the Galaxy A10 may launch ahead of the Galaxy S10 series in Monday.

The specifications of the rumored Galaxy A10 are under the wraps. The only thing that is known about the handset is that it may come equipped with Snapdragon 845 chipset. The higher versions of the Galaxy A9 (2018) and Galaxy A8s handsets have 8 GB of RAM. Hence, there is a possibility that the Galaxy A10 may feature up to 8 GB of RAM. There is a possibility that the South Korean company may launch the Galaxy A10 smartphone by the end of January 2019.

HMD Global has recently confirmed that the arrival of the Nokia 9 PureView has been delayed which suggested that could the Finnish might have initially planned to launch it at the end of 2019. It appears that the arrival of the Nokia 9 PureView may not be far since one of its model numbers TA-1094 has been certified by Bluetooth SIG body. The TA-1087 and TA-1082 models that have been approved along with TA-1094 are speculated to be the variants of the Nokia 9 PureView.

Few months ago, a leaked photo of the alleged Nokia 9 PureView smartphone featuring penta-lens camera setup had surfaced online. The TA-1094 model number was also mentioned on of the labels that was placed on the rear side of the smartphone.

The Bluetooth SIG certifications of TA-1094, TA-1087 and TA-1082 reveal that they do not support 5G. Also, they carry support for Bluetooth 5.0 and 4G LTE networks. Nothing else has surfaced on the specs of the Nokia 9 PureView through its Bluetooth SIG certification. Speaking of certification, the Nokia TA-1087 has been also approved by Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in the recent past.

Rumors have it that the Nokia 9 PureView may get announced after the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 that is usually at the beginning of January and before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) that is heled at the end of February. Usually, a device gets unveiled around a month or two after it receives Bluetooth SIG certification. Hence, it appears that the Nokia 9 PureView could be announced in late January or early February in the coming year.

HMD Global is yet to launch a smartphone powered by Snapdragon 845. Since the Nokia 9 PureView is rumored to support only for 4G LTE networks, it could be the first Snapdragon 845 powered phone from the company. There is no fingerprint scanner on the rear side of the Nokia 9 PureView which indicates that it will be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The handset could be equipped with a notch-less OLED screen with support for Quad HD+ resolution. The SD845 SoC of the phone could be supported by 8 GB of RAM.

The Nokia 9 PureView is rumored to house a big battery of 4,150mAh capacity. It may also include support for wireless charging. The handset may come up to 128 GB of storage. It likely to lack support for 3.5mm audio jack.

Well, the penta-lens camera design of the rumored Nokia 9 PureView is not a secret since multiple leaks have revealed it. The Nokia 9 PureView case images matches with the CAD renders of its case that had surfaced in the previous month. It also resembles with the Nokia 9 case that is currently listed on Amazon UK. The newly leaked TPU case of the upcoming Nokia flagship phone has seven cutouts. Rumors suggest that five of them will belong to various kinds of sensors such as RGB, depth sensor, wide-angle lens, telephoto lens and monochrome sensor. The other cutouts could belong to dual-tone LED flash and a sensor for proximity detection.

Rumors have it that just as the Nokia 8 Sirocco phone lacked a 3.5mm audio jack, the Nokia 9 PureView will be also lacking it.
