Xiaomi recently launched its top flagship phone. But even before the official first sale, the new Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition was already sold out. Although, it seems not all of these buyers are photography enthusiasts as the device is being resold in China.

While the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a part of the Chinese tech giant’s latest flagship series, the Leica Edition stands out with premium imaging features and unique design touches. To recall, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition was released with a starting price tag of 7,999 Yuan (roughly 1,120 US Dollars) for the 16GB + 512GB configuration. The first sales of this model kicked off on 27th December 2025, but pre-orders went live immediately after the December 25 launch.

But even before the device was shipped to the early buyers, resellers had already listed the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition on second hand selling platform. So people have pre-ordered this model and plan to resell it immediately after the company starts shipping this flagship phone. Looking at some of these listings, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition is being resold for a premium.

The top 16GB + 1TB variant costs 8,999 Yuan, but the resellers are listing it for 9,999 Yuan and over 10,000 Yuan as well. To recall, the Leica Edition of the 17 Ultra is built for photography enthusiast with a classic camera design and manual control. Leica’s iconic red dot branding is on the rear and comes in a distinctive two-tone finish that is inspired by Leica’s M-series cameras. This special edition even brings an exclusive “Leica Moment” mode with M9-style color rendering, M3 + MONOPAN 50 black-and-white film simulations, and a classic 3:2 full-frame aspect ratio.

Oppo has just recently launched the Find N2 Flip in India, which is its latest foldable smartphone. But just a week into its release, it appears that the company’s new high end device has already been sold out in the region.

For those unaware, the Chinese smartphone maker had finally released the Find N2 Flip back on 17th March 2023. but earlier this week, the company announced that the Find N2 Flip model has been sold out within the first week of its availability on Flipkart. In other words, the device has been quite successful in the region, despite having an exorbitant price tag of 89,999 INR (roughly 1,088 US Dollars).

Talking more about this device, the Find N2 Flip also debuts the brand’s all new Flexion Hinge design that creates a water drop fold. In simpler terms, it has a much shallower and narrower crease on the main display compared to any other foldable phone. Oppo has also managed to fit a large 3.26 inch secondary display, which is quite large for a clamshell like handsets.

According to Damyant Singh Khanoria, Oppo India’s Chief Marketing Officer, “We are thrilled to bring the OPPO Find N2 Flip to our customers. The remarkable response within first week of its launch is a testament to the love for the best flip phone ever launched.” He further added that “Our partnership with Google further enhances the user experience by providing six months of free YouTube Premium and Google One to Find N2 Flip consumers. Earlier today (23rd December 2021), the OPPO Find N officially went on sale in its home country of China. But in just 5 minutes, the new foldable smartphone was completely sold out across all online channels.

We had previously also reported on the device selling out in China. However, that was just a small launch and only a limited quantities of the new model were available for purchase. Notably, some of the early buyers even took to second hand and used products selling website to resell the Find N for a higher price. INow, it appears that the first impressions and early reviews of the foldable smartphone was quite good considering its official sales kicked off earlier today, with the device being out of stock in just 5 minutes.

Talking about the device first, Find N is the Chinese brand’s latest flagship product that targets foldable phone category in the market. It is also OPPO’s first commercially available foldable handset. It sports a 7.1 inch E5 AMOLED primary display with 120Hz refresh rate and a 5.49 inch AMOLED external screen. Under the hood, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and is powered by a large 4,500mAh battery pack that supports up to 33W fast charging. For storage, users can opt for either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

With the first official sale of the Find N beginning today, the device saw an explosive reception as it was sold out on multiple platforms, including JD.com and Tmall in just 5 minutes. Furthermore, these platform also listed this model as one of the best selling phones on their respective platforms within the hour. Notably, the second sale of the device is set to go live on 27th December 2021.

Earlier today (8th March 2021), the Meizu 18 series went on sale across multiple online channels. The new device is the company’s flagship series and arrives with top notch specs. But just one minute into its launch, the lineup was completely sold out, with sales surpassing 100 million yuan (roughly 15 million US Dollars).

The new “dual flagship” launch from the Chinese smartphone maker included the Meizu 18 and 18 Pro, which runs on the latest Flyme 9 custom skin that does not have any pre installed applications or advertisements. During the new series’ first official sale, the sales reached over 100 million yuan in value across all channels in just one minute, while the device was completely sold out within just 28 minutes.

Talking about the device itself, The Meizu 18 and 18 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. Both handsets are equipped with up to 12GB of LPPDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Meizu 18 has a 4,000mAh battery, whereas the Pro model gets a larger 4,500mAh battery. The vanilla model supports 36W Super mCharge fast charging, while the Pro model is equipped with 40W charging, 40W Super Wireless mCharge technology, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

In other words, the lineup is quite popular in the company’s home market, China, and has already seen great success. The reasonable pricing for the flagship grade premium smartphones and their design and popularity in the local market would’ve also helped boost sales.

Earlier today (22nd January 2021), the Honor V40 was launched and was made available for purchase as well. However, during its first ever sale, the device managed to get sold in just 3 minutes and 46 seconds.

The Chinese tech giant shared this achievement on its official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website. The device went on sale through multiple online websites, which included the Honor Mall, JD.com, Tmall, and other major platforms as well. All of these channels now have the device listed as out of stock, as per an ITHome report. In other words, the newly launched smartphone is currently unavailable for purchase in China.

Despite being announced a while ago, the Huawei Mate 40 only recently went available for pre orders. Since then, the device went on pre sales and was sold out in just under a minute, as the device went live online.

According to a Sohu report, the pre sales for the base model of the Huawei Mate 40 officially began on 16th December 2020 around 10:08 am. But just within a minute, the number of prospective buyers and overwhelming demand had the website display “sold out.” In other words, the premium grade flagship is already out of stock even before its actual December 21 release date. Apparently, many even believed the device to be one of the last to feature the company’s proprietary Kirin chipset, which led to a rise in demand.

For those unaware, Huawei lost its primary chip supplier TSMC, due to US sanctions. Although, the Huawei Mate 40 series might be the last to arrive with its self designed chips. So, at the very least, the device is already successful in its home country China.

The company will be releasing the device on 21st December as well, so we might see a similar demand in the arriving official sale as well. Keep in mind, this is still a flagship device, so its quite impressive to see such a high end model being sold out in just under a minute, especially when its prices are 4,999 Yuan and 5,499 Yuan (roughly 763 US Dollars to 839 US Dollars). Unfortunately, we do not know how many units were up for sale.

Now, Manu Kumar Jain, the Managing Director of Xiaomi India, has shared a tweet on Twitter. In the tweet, the senior executive thanked the Indian customers for their support during these tough times during the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. He revealed that the Chinese tech giant has had its stock completely cleared in just a few minutes.

However, Manu further added that the resupplying of stocks will occur next week. This means we can expect another flash sale later in May. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max was announced earlier this year alongside the Redmi Note 9 Pro. While the latter was available for purchase soon after, the former had its launch delayed due to the countrywide mandatory lockdown imposed by the government.

But as the lockdown now relaxes in certain areas, Redmi has taken the initiative to immediately launch the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. It is a mid range handset that features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720 SoC alongside either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Xiaomi had recently unveiled a new Wi-Fi router in China, boosting its AIoT portfolio (artificial intelligence of things). It carried the model number AX3600 and offered a great value through its specifications and performance for the price it was sold at. However, since its first launch earlier this morning (28th February 2020), the device has sold out which has caused many anticipating customers to show their disappointment online.

To address the mass dissatisfaction, the General Manager of Xiaomi Group, Liu Xinyu took to Weibo to share the reason for the limited stock. On the Chinese microblogging website, the company’s senior executive stated that the reason for the limited initial stock was the recent Coronavirus outbreak. According to Liu, it is difficult to keep up with demand since the Government had enforced a factory shutdown previously, making it harder to resume work now.

As of right now, Xiaomi is facing issues with various suppliers and other outlets at different levels. The General Manager has assured that stocks will be replenished and sales will start again sometime next month. Currently, no official date for the second sale has been officially announced but Liu Xinyu mentioned that future date will be revealed soon.
