Sony India has expanded its truly wireless earbuds lineup with the launch of the WF-C510.

The WF-C510 promises to deliver high-quality sound with Sony’s DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) technology, improving audio across frequencies. They also support 360 Reality Audio, providing a more immersive sound experience. The earbuds offer up to 22 hours of playback, including the charging case, with just a 5-minute charge providing an additional hour of listening.

Useful features include Ambient Sound Mode to help users stay aware of their surroundings, and “Voice Focus,” which enhances call clarity. The earbuds can be customized through the Sony | Headphones Connect app, allowing users to adjust EQ settings. They also support multipoint pairing with two devices at the same time and offer Quick Access to Spotify. With an IPX4 rating, they are resistant to water splashes, and each earbud can be used independently.

Available in Blue, Yellow, Black, and White, the WF-C510 is priced at Rs. 3,990. A cashback offer of Rs. 1,000 is available on select credit cards until October 31, 2024. They will be available in India from September 26 across Sony stores and other major retailers.

Sony’s new WF-C510 was announced with a smaller and lighter body than the C500. It was a closed design with silicon ear tips and an IPX4 rating for sweat resistance. This makes it a good partner during your workout sessions. The company used recycled plastic for its body. Since the TWS was announced for a budget friendly focus, it skips certain premium features like ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) but users do get an ambient mode, which is basically a transparency mode that lets you listen to the environment around you.

Another feature you miss out on is the multipoint Bluetooth connectivity. On a single full charge, the Sony WF-C510 has an extended battery life of up to 11 hours on the earbuds alone. Sony‘s next TWS earbuds offering called the WF-C510 has leaked. The leak comes via renders and marketing material shared by tipster @MysteryLupin over at X (formerly Twitter). For those unaware, the WF-C510 will be a direct successor to the WF-C500.

Design-wise, the WF-C510 is a carbon copy of its predecessor. It retains the familiar shape, command button, and charging case. While it lacks ANC, it boasts a slightly improved 22-hour battery life. Additional features include dual device pairing, ambient sound mode, and IPX4 water resistance.

Expected to launch in September 2024 for around $100, the WF-C510 will compete in the crowded budget TWS market. More details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.

Other than Sony, OnePlus and Nintendo have also recently garnered headlines in the world of TWS earbuds. As per reports, OnePlus is working on the OnePlus Buds 3 Pro, which is expected to debut with a €199 pricetag, alongside an 11mm woofer, 6mm tweeter, and Dynaudio-tuned sound. It is said to offer improved 50 dB noise cancellation and up to 43 hours of battery life.

On the other hand, Nintendo has released new Zelda-themed wireless earbuds in green and white variants, exclusive to the UK and Ireland, priced at £34.99. These join the existing black version.
