Sony introduced the Xperia 1 III in April this year, but it was only available in the United States. Anyway, the phone had a slow rollout, beginning with pre-orders on July 1st and the official release after a month on August 19th. At the time of the launch, Sony was offering free Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones for those who pre-ordered the smartphone in the US. Now, the Sony Xperia 1 III has silently reached the Vietnamese market and it also comes with a free gift.

The popular Vietnamese leaker, Chun has affirmed that the phone is priced at 34,990,000 Dong(~$1,540) and those who pre-order it will get a pair of wireless headphones. This time around, the company is offering the more premium Sony WH-XM4 headphones for those to pre-order the Xperia 1 III. The pre-order period will be from September 1 to September 15 and it will start shipping from September 17.

The Sony Xperia 1 III comes with a  6.5-inch display with a 4K resolution. It is an OLED display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 21:9 wide aspect ratio. It has a quad-rear camera system with a 12MP main sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and lastly a TOF sensor. Upfront, it has an 8MP camera at the front.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It packs a 4,500mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and boots on Android 11 out of the box.

Japanese electronics giant Sony has released two premium offerings in the smartphone market, with the launch of the Sony Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III smartphones, expected to begin shipping to US customers in the summer of 2021. The two smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset and offer loads of innovative and exciting features from their predecessors, the Xperia 1 II and Xperia 5 II, respectively.

The two latest Sony smartphones will run on Android 11 and come in two color variants: frosted black and frosted purple for the Xperia 1 III, black and green for the Xperia 5 III. Both models reflect Sony’s great design philosophy that always puts its products up at the top in quality, innovation, and durability. The smartphones feature a 21:9 screen, uniform bezels, exquisite metal frames, and glass backs.

Sony has drawn from its rich repertoire of technologies available in its wide array of products from TVs, professional cameras, and audio devices to incorporate such into the two high-end smartphones available to the US market in the summer of 2021.

A two-step physical shutter button, available in both models, will be attractive to photography fans who will have a feel of using a conventional Sony professional camera. The picture and video quality of the two smartphones are top-notch, and the attached variable telephoto lens allows users to provide automatic focus in up to four focal lengths.

Both the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III have a fast display refresh rate of 120Hz. Both adorn innovative audio and video features that provide high definition quality from the HDR OLED display greater color accuracy.

The two products are also well-suited as a gaming phone, with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, motion blur reduction, heat suppression technology, and an ability to bypass the battery when playing games and charging the phone.

The Xperia 1 III has 12GB RAM with 256GB internal memory, while the Xperia 5 III comes in an 8GB RAM together with either 128GB or 256GB internal memory. They both have a 4500mAh battery with a 30W fast charger as an accessory.

The prices of both the Sony Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III were yet to be released, and we would expect that the prices would be on the high end of the spectrum.
