The new portable computer has a bigger display, improved design but surprisingly sticks to the Surface Dock connector rather than USB-C.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-321237" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Surface-Go-2-featured.png?x10805" alt="Surface Go 2 featured" width="870" height="747" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Surface-Go-2-featured.png 870w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Surface-Go-2-featured-300x258.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Surface-Go-2-featured-768x659.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Surface-Go-2-featured-696x598.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Surface-Go-2-featured-489x420.png 489w" sizes="(max-width: 870px) 100vw, 870px" /></p>
<p>The new and portable 2-in-1 now comes with a 10.5-inch PixelSense display with significantly smaller bezels than its predecessor. It is not near as small as that of the iPad Pro but you will be glad they have been cut down.</p>
<p>Even though the screen is bigger, the Surface Go 2 will work with the keyboard of the original, so if you own the first-gen model and plan to make the switch to the new one, you don&#8217;t need to purchase a new keyboard.</p>

<p>With respect to configuration, the Surface Go 2 is available in three options listed below:</p>
<p><strong>Configuration 1</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y</li>
<li>Intel UHD Graphics 615</li>
<li>4GB RAM</li>
<li>64GB eMMC storage (expandable via a MicroSD slot)</li>
<li>$399</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Configuration 2</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y</li>
<li>Intel UHD Graphics 615</li>
<li>8GB RAM</li>
<li>128GB SSD storage (expandable via a MicroSD slot)</li>
<li>$549</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Configuration 3</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Intel 8th Gen Core M3</li>
<li>Intel UHD Graphics 615</li>
<li>8GB RAM</li>
<li>128GB SSD storage (expandable via a MicroSD slot)</li>
<li>$629</li>
</ul>
<p>Microsoft says the Surface Go 2 has a new 5MP 1080p camera for better and clearer video calls along with Studio Mics (dual-microphone solution) for an increase in voice clarity and reduction in background noise during video calls. There is also a new camera app that allows you to easily scan documents and whiteboards for easy sharing. The Surface Go 2 has support for the Surface Pen and will make it easy to take notes while studying and also for drawing and annotations.</p>

While there had been plenty of rumors circulating online, but now, a new report has revealed certain images and specs regarding the upcoming tablet just prior to its launch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-321130 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22.jpg?x10805" alt="Microsoft" width="794" height="456" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22.jpg 794w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22-300x172.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22-768x441.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22-696x400.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22-731x420.jpg 731w" sizes="(max-width: 794px) 100vw, 794px" /></p>
<p>According to a report from WinFuture, the Microsoft Surface Go 2 will have the same design as the original Surface Go, but will feature a slight bigger 10.5 inch display. Furthermore, the physical dimensions of the tablet have remained unchanged, which makes it compatible with existing Surface Go covers that one may own or are available in the market.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/05/smartphone-brands-to-pre-install-aarogya-setu-app-as-mandated-by-indian-goverment/">Smartphone brands to pre-install Aarogya Setu app as mandated by Indian Government</a></strong></h6>
<p>Arriving at the display itself, Microsoft has bumped up the resolution to FHD (1920 x 1080p) and made the bezels narrower. The Surface Go 2 will arrive in two variants that will house different specs under the hood. One variant will feature the Intel Gold 4425Y processor while the other houses the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/intel-core-m3/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Intel Core m3-8100Y</a> chipset. The company is also reportedly adding 4G LTE support on the affordable Surface Go 2 variant and will also bring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wi-fi-6/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">WiFi 6</a> support as well.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-321129 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695523_surface-go-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Microsoft" width="660" height="396" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695523_surface-go-2.jpg 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695523_surface-go-2-300x180.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></p>
<p>In terms of memory, the Surface Go 2 with the Pentium SoC will feature 4GB of RAM and 64B of internal storage. This variant will be priced at 459 EUR (roughly 496 US Dollars). The higher end version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage will be sold for 629 EUR (roughly 680 US Dollars). A 256GB storage version is also claimed to be an option and, unfortunately, the pricing details for the Core m3 model is currently unknown.</p>

<p>Leaked information from last month had revealed that the Surface Go 2 will be arriving with a 10.5-inch display. The original model had come with a smaller display. It is said that the size of the Surface Go 2 will remain as the predecessor model. This suggests that the company may cut down on the size of the bezels to accommodate a 10.5-inch display.</p>
<p>Some of the other features that are expected to be available on the Surface Go 2 include Windows 10 home in S Mode, Windows Hello facial scanning, microSD card slot, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack and Surface Connect port. The Surface Go had debuted with a price tag of $399. The successor model may also arrive with the same pricing.</p>

The new Surface lineup was not updated last year. But it is sure getting a successor this year dubbed as Surface Go 2, that too within a few weeks from now, claims MSPoweruser.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/brand/microsoft/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Microsoft Surface</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> lineup of convertibles is popular among business people, artists, and even some developers. The Redmond tech giant introduced a tablet in the series called Surface Go with support for stylus and keyboard in mid-2018. </span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-200487 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Microsoft-Surface-Go__-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Microsoft Surface Go" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Microsoft-Surface-Go__-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Microsoft-Surface-Go__-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Microsoft-Surface-Go__-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Microsoft-Surface-Go__-1280x720.jpg 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Microsoft-Surface-Go__.jpg 900w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Though it was released as a competitor to </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/Apple/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Apple</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> iPads, the king of tablets, it was no close to it in terms of specifications and power. Instead, it focussed on providing the power of the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Windows-10/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Windows 10</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> operating system in hands to a niche audience. And it seems to be worked out for </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/Microsoft/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Microsoft</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, at least in the US as they are sold out in the region.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is why the speculations have begun and even the insiders are suggesting the launch of a new model called Surface Go 2. In February, a benchmark even confirmed the existence of this device powered by the 8th gen </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/Intel/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Intel </span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">Core m3-8100Y dual-core processor. This CPU will not bring much difference in terms of performance but will be at least better than the Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y CPU present in the original Surface Go.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Further, just like its predecessor, the Microsoft Surface Go 2 could start at $399 and go up to $650 for the high-end model with LTE. As for availability, it is possible the company might start taking orders in May itself.</span></p>
