<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/microsoft/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft</a> is reportedly working on new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/surface/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Surface</a> devices that are expected to be released later this year. The most anticipated device is the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/surface-go-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Surface Go 4</a> codenamed Tanta, which is set to feature an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ARM processor</a> for the first time.</p>

<p>According to sources, the entry-level model will be equipped with a Snapdragon 7c-based SoC, providing similar performance to its predecessor but with better power efficiency for longer battery life. The new SoC may also allow Microsoft to include <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/5g/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">5G</a> capabilities in the Surface Go for the first time, though this has not been confirmed.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Microsoft-Surface-Go-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Microsoft Surface Go 3" class="wp-image-531409" width="971" height="492" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Microsoft-Surface-Go-3.jpg 971w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Microsoft-Surface-Go-3-300x152.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Microsoft-Surface-Go-3-768x389.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Microsoft-Surface-Go-3-696x353.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Microsoft-Surface-Go-3-829x420.jpg 829w" sizes="(max-width: 971px) 100vw, 971px" /><figcaption>Microsoft Surface Go 3</figcaption></figure>

<p>The Surface Go 4 is expected to have minor design changes, but will still maintain a similar-sized footprint to its previous models. An Intel variant is also expected to be available for those who prefer it.</p>

<p>In addition to the Surface Go 4, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/microsoft/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft</a> is said to be working on a new Surface Pro in two sizes, following in the footsteps of Apple&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-ipad-pro-11-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iPad Pro</a>. Alongside the typical 13-inch Surface Pro, Microsoft is building a new 11-inch Surface Pro, codenamed Luxor. This device will have a similar shape and size to the Surface Go but with slimmer bezels like its larger sibling. The 11-inch Surface Pro will be more powerful, featuring a 120Hz <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/display/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">display</a>, and will have a higher price point than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/surface-go/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Surface Go</a>.</p>

<p>Windows 11 recently received an update with a new tablet mode that works better on devices with smaller screens. More <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tablet/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">tablet</a> optimizations are expected to be added to Windows in the future.</p>

<p>The release dates for the new Surface Go and Surface Pro are still uncertain, but they are unlikely to be shipped before this fall, according to sources. Microsoft had initially planned to release the new Surface Go this spring, but that plan has been changed. Additionally, the release of the next Surface Pro by Microsoft is dependent on the availability of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Qualcomm&#8217;s</a> new Nuvia chips.</p>

While there had been plenty of rumors circulating online, but now, a new report has revealed certain images and specs regarding the upcoming tablet just prior to its launch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-321130 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22.jpg?x44794" alt="Microsoft" width="794" height="456" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22.jpg 794w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22-300x172.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22-768x441.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22-696x400.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695518_surface_go_22-731x420.jpg 731w" sizes="(max-width: 794px) 100vw, 794px" /></p>
<p>According to a report from WinFuture, the Microsoft Surface Go 2 will have the same design as the original Surface Go, but will feature a slight bigger 10.5 inch display. Furthermore, the physical dimensions of the tablet have remained unchanged, which makes it compatible with existing Surface Go covers that one may own or are available in the market.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/05/smartphone-brands-to-pre-install-aarogya-setu-app-as-mandated-by-indian-goverment/">Smartphone brands to pre-install Aarogya Setu app as mandated by Indian Government</a></strong></h6>
<p>Arriving at the display itself, Microsoft has bumped up the resolution to FHD (1920 x 1080p) and made the bezels narrower. The Surface Go 2 will arrive in two variants that will house different specs under the hood. One variant will feature the Intel Gold 4425Y processor while the other houses the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/intel-core-m3/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Intel Core m3-8100Y</a> chipset. The company is also reportedly adding 4G LTE support on the affordable Surface Go 2 variant and will also bring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wi-fi-6/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">WiFi 6</a> support as well.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-321129 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695523_surface-go-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Microsoft" width="660" height="396" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695523_surface-go-2.jpg 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/1588695523_surface-go-2-300x180.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></p>
<p>In terms of memory, the Surface Go 2 with the Pentium SoC will feature 4GB of RAM and 64B of internal storage. This variant will be priced at 459 EUR (roughly 496 US Dollars). The higher end version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage will be sold for 629 EUR (roughly 680 US Dollars). A 256GB storage version is also claimed to be an option and, unfortunately, the pricing details for the Core m3 model is currently unknown.</p>
