Microsoft had an event today in New York where it announced a bunch of new products. First on the list is the Surface Laptop 3.

The Surface Laptop 3 brings a number of new features including a new 15” size that is powered by a “Ryzen Surface Edition” processor and not an Intel processor like the 13” version.

The changes are not only on the inside but also on the outside. There is a USB Type-C port now which can be used for charging in addition to Microsoft’s proprietary Surface Connector. Oh! The display port is gone. Talking about charging, the Surface Laptop 3 supports fast charging (confirmed for the Surface Connector), allowing you to charge the PC to up to 80% in 1 hour!

The trackpad is also 20% larger than that of its predecessor and the whole computer has been designed in such a way to make it easy for users to replace components such as storage. Another design change is the availability of two finishes – Alcantara and Aluminum.

Microsoft has an event tomorrow where it will take the wraps off a number of new hardware. Some of these devices have already leaked in the past such as the Surface Laptop which will come in a new 15” model, and the Surface Pro 7. However, those leaks didn’t include images.

Evan Blass, the popular leaker, has released a bunch of photos of some of the devices launching tomorrow as well as additional info about others.

Surface Pro 7 – USB-C is finally here

The leaked images include that of the Surface Pro 7. The Surface Pro series is Microsoft’s line of Windows tablet which can transform to become a 2-in-1 PC by adding a keyboard cover.

This year’s model will be getting a long-awaited feature – USB Type-C. As seen in the photos, there is now a USB Type-C port on the right side of the Surface Pro 7 alongside a full-sized USB port. There is also a card reader on the right.

Surface Laptop 3 13” and 15”

The Surface Laptop will return a third time and will bring along a sibling with a larger display. An earlier leak revealed that this 15” model will be powered by AMD’s Ryzen processor.

We can’t see a USB Type-C port on the right but we hope there is one on the left with support for Thunderbolt. The pictures show that there is no fingerprint scanner on any of the variants and the larger model also skips a dedicated number pad.

It does look like Microsoft has ditched its Alcantara fabric design for metal.

Surface Campus (Arm-Powered Surface)

While the Surface Pro 7 will be powered by an Intel processor, Microsoft will also announce a Surface tablet that is powered by an Arm-chipset. This device will launch as the Surface Campus. The name hints at it being targeted at students. Expect an insane battery life as well as LTE onboard.

This Surface Campus also has a kickstand and an attachable keyboard. There are also two USB Type-C ports on the left. One of the images also shows a stylus.

Dual-Screen Surface

Other than the aforementioned devices, Evan Blass also adds that there is a dual-screen Surface device too. There are no images but he mentions that it will run a special version of Windows called Windows 10X which has been designed for dual-screen and folding-screen devices.

The event will hold in New York tomorrow and should be live-streamed.

Microsoft has confirmed that it will be holding an event on Oct. 2 in Manhattan U.S. at 10 AM ET. The Redmond based company is expected to announce the 2-in-1 Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3. A fresh report on Winfuture.de has leaked the configurations of the Surface Pro 7.

According to the report, Microsoft may release 5 variants of the Surface Pro 7 in Europe. These include base model with Intel Core i3 processor that features 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of SSD storage. There are two Intel Core i7 models may come in 128 GB SSD and 256 GB SSD storage choices. Both models could be equipped with 8 GB of RAM. There are two Intel Core i7 variants with 256 GB and 512 GB SSD storage. Both models may come with 16 GB of RAM.

The new Surface Pro 7 is expected to be fueled by 10^th generation Intel Core processors. As far as the design is concerned, it resembles the predecessor model, but offer users with a slightly larger screen space with slim bezels. While previous rumors claimed that there could be some Snapdragon 8CX models, the new report has no mentioning about it. Also, it has no information on the pricing of the Surface Pro 7.

On Oct. 2, Microsoft may not launch a new edition of the Surface Book. However, it may launch a Surface Laptop 3 that may sport a 15-inch display. It is expected to arrive as a competitor for the MacBook Pro.

Microsoft has an event scheduled for October 2 in New York where it will unveil new products. The Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 is one of the expected devices and details of the PC have popped online including one big info.

Winfuture.de reports that the Surface Laptop series will be getting a 15-inch version for the very first time. Its predecessors are only available with 13.5-inch screens. There will still be a 13.5-inch version of the Surface Laptop 3 for those who prefer a smaller display.

But a larger display is not the biggest change Mircosoft is making to the Surface Laptop line. The German tech blog also reports that the 15-inch version of the Surface Laptop 3 will feature an AMD Ryzen processor! This is a big win for Intel’s rival.

So far, three AMD-based models of the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 have been discovered but the exact chipset powering them are still unknown. There are speculations they may be powered by the Ryzen 3000 series (Ryzen 5 3550H and Ryzen 7 3750H) which powers Honor’s MagicBook Pro Ryzen Edition which was announced early this month.

There is no mention of the 13.5-inch model getting AMD processors, so expect an Intel sticker on that model.

The 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 is rumored to also come with a 4K display with Surface Pen support. We also expect it to have a USB-C port this time.

Just as several phones will be arriving in the last four months left in the year, we will also be seeing new PCs too. Yesterday, Microsoft announced it will be holding an event in October.

The tech giant announced that on October 2 in New York, it will have a Surface hardware event. There are speculations as to what new products will be announced on that day but the most anticipated product is the dual-screen Surface device. Earlier reports say it will be announced in Q1 2020 but Microsoft may decide to give us an early look at the device.

We also expect the Surface Pro 7 which we pray has a USB Type-C port for charging. The Surface Laptop is also expected to get a third-gen model. Both the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro 7 are rumored to not have Thunderbolt 3 which is a bummer.

Then there is the affordable Surface Go which may get a successor this year and the high-class Surface Book also needs a new model. Will we see a new version of the Surface Headphones? Maybe, maybe not. If there is one, we hope it comes in black too.
