The brand disclosed recently (via <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/546/056.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">IThome</a>) that the tablet will be called T40 5G and is already in the prototype stage with the release expected as soon as it passes the functional tests. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-384422" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Teclast T40 5G" width="1072" height="870" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3.jpg 1072w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3-300x243.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3-768x623.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3-1024x831.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3-696x565.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3-1068x867.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-3-518x420.jpg 518w" sizes="(max-width: 1072px) 100vw, 1072px" /></a></p>
<p>Perhaps, the most interesting part of the announcement is the disclosure that the T40 5G will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Unisoc/">UNISOC</a> Tiger T7520 chip. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/26/unisocs-tiger-t7520-5g-processor-is-the-worlds-first-6nm-euv-processor/">Tiger T7520</a> processor is a 5G chipset and the first to be built using a 6nm EUV process. The 6nm process has an increased transistor density of 18% compared to the 7nm process. It also brings a reduction in the power consumption by 8% over its predecessor. The T7520 chipset was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/26/unisocs-tiger-t7520-5g-processor-is-the-worlds-first-6nm-euv-processor/">first announced</a> in February last year with the release set for early 2021. Thus, the Teclast T40 may be the first device to utilize the chipset.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-384421" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Teclast T40 5g" width="1108" height="734" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2.jpg 1108w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2-768x509.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2-1024x678.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2-696x461.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2-1068x708.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/teclast-t40-2-634x420.jpg 634w" sizes="(max-width: 1108px) 100vw, 1108px" /></a></p>
<p>Teclast didn&#8217;t release further details of the T40 5G but the brand launched a 4G version of the T40 towards the end of last month. The Teclast T40 4G is powered by a UNISOC Tiger T618 processor. The tablet features a 10.4-inch fullscreen display with a 2K resolution. The tablet also comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of flash memory. Keeping the lights on is a massive 8000mAh battery. The T40 4G equally features four stereo speakers and a gyroscope. We expected the 5G version to retain most of these configurations including the display size. The major difference will be the 5G chipset and perhaps more RAM and storage options.</p>
<p>Teclast is yet to release the launch itinerary for the T40 5G. We&#8217;ll keep you updated when more details emerge.</p>
