Tecno Camon 19 and Camon 19 Neo have launched in India today. The former is the successor to last year’s Camon 18. Both the latest offerings pack identical specifications apart from few differences in camera and design. Read on to know more about the Camon 18 duo below. 

Tecno Camon 19 and 19 Neo specifications and features 

The Tecno Camon 19 and 19 Neo come with a centre-aligned punch-hole FHD+ LCD display measuring 6.8-inches. Both phones feature a boxy form factor, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and two camera rings on the back panel. The regular variant has a gradient back panel whereas the Neo model has a geometric pattern. 

Under the hood, the Tecno Camon 19 and Camon 19 Neo are powered by an Helio G85 processor. It is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage with support for a microSD card slot. The devices come with 5GB extendable RAM technology up to 11GB. The Camon 19 duo are backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging and run on Android 12 OS out of the box. 

On the imaging front, the Tecno Camon 19 has a 64MP main sensor whereas the Neo model comes with a 48MP lens. Both devices have 2MP depth and 2MP AI lenses. The regular variant is fitted with a 16MP front-facing snapper whereas the Camon 19 Neo has a 32MP shooter.

Tecno Camon 19 and 19 Neo price in India

The Tecno Camon 19 costs Rs 14,999 and is offered in Eco Black, Sea White, and Geometric Green colours. On the other hand, the Camon 19 Neo carries a special launch price tag of Rs 12,499 and can be availed in Eco Black, Ice Mirror, and Dreamland Green colours. The regular variant will be available across retail outlets whereas the Neo model will go on sale starting July 23rd on Amazon.

Last month, Tecno launched the Camon 19 series smartphones in the global market. The series consists of the Camon 19, the Camon 19 Neo, and the Camon 19 Pro. The brand has now teased the device for an upcoming Indian launch. So, let’s take a look at what we know so far.

The devices teased for the upcoming Indian debut are the Camon 19 and the Camon 19 Neo, while there is no word if the Pro model is also coming to the Indian market. The teaser on Tecno’s website reveals that the Camon 19 will come with the industry’s first 64-megapixel RGBW sensor and will carry slim bezels that measure just 0.98mm.

On the other hand, the Camon 19 Neo has received a dedicated microsite on Amazon India revealing most of its specifications. Starting from the front, the device will come with a 6.8-inch display with a centered punch hole for the selfie camera. It is likely an IPS LCD display that will feature Full HD+ resolution.

Other than that, the device will have 6GB RAM that can be extended by up to 5GB and NFC support. Going by the global launch, we can expect the device to have 128 GB of built-in storage and micro-SD card support. It will likely come with a large 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

Moving on to the cameras, the device is confirmed to feature a triple camera unit with a 48-megapixel primary sensor. On the front, the device will house a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. Lastly, the device will be available in three color options in the country – Ice Mirror (Blue), Eco Black, and Dreamland Green.

Details regarding the exact launch date and Indian pricing of the Camon 19 and Camon 19 Neo are still under wraps. So, stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

The Tecno Camon 19 series hitten the Indian shelves with several models. There are four variants from this series and all of them can be considered mid-rangers. But there is one single variant which left everyone surprised because of its stunning camera department: we are talking about the Pro variant. However, the remaining ones come with an outstanding quality price ratio, so they should be considered as well. This is a comparison between the Tecno Camon 19, the Tecno Camon 19 Pro, and the Tecno Camon 19 Neo. We decided to exclude one variant from this comparison: the 5G version, because it is very similar to the Neo and because all the other variants do not support the 5G connectivity.

Design

The Tecno Camon 19 is definitely the best device of this trio in terms of design, at least in my opinion. I appreciate its very original rear texture which looks like a labyrinth because it makes this device unique. But you should not underestimate the Tecno Camon 19 Neo because it is another device with an original texture on the rear side. The Tecno Camon 19 Pro looks like all the other phones due to its classic gradient back, but you should note that all of these phones have circular camera modules reminding of the latest Honor devices, so even the Pro variant remains pretty interesting aesthetically.

Display

The displays found on these three devices are not so interesting. Between these panels, the hottest one is definitely the one found on the Tecno Camon 19 Pro. The reason is simple: it is the only panel in this comparison with a 120 Hz refresh rate. So you get a smoother user experience, but no changes in terms of image quality. Indeed, all of these phones feature IPS LCD displays with a 6.8-inch diagonal and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. The level of detail is identical and even the image quality, the only difference is the smoothness in the Pro variant. The Tecno trio comes with mono speakers and side-mounted fingerprint readers, just like most of the affordable phones out there.

Specs & Software

The most advanced hardware department is offered by the Tecno Camon 19 Pro. It is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G96 mobile platform built at 12 nm and running at a max frequency of 2.05 GHz. It is actually more powerful not only in terms of CPU performance but even when it comes to the GPU. So gamers and power users should choose this phone instead of the other internal rivals. The chip is paired with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of native storage. The Tecno Camon 19 and the Neo variant are more or less at the same level: they are powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 mobile platform built at 12 nm and running at a max frequency of 2 GHz, they feature 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage in the most advanced memory configurations. All of these phones run Android 12 out of the box with the HiOS customization on top.

Camera

Even though it is an affordable phone with midrange-class hardware, the Tecno Camon 19 Pro has a stunning camera department which you can usually find only on top camera phones. It has a triple camera setup composed of a main 64 MP camera with OIS, a 50 MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and a 2 MP depth sensor, as well as a 32 MP selfie snapper and a Quad-LED flash. The other devices have no way to compete with the Pro variant and they can only be considered low-end camera phones. The Tecno Camon 19 Pro comes with a good 64 MP shooter and it is better than the Neo and its 48 MP main camera.

Battery

All of these phones feature the same battery capacity: 5000 mAh. Given that the components are similar in terms of energy consumption, they last more or less the same on a single charge. But the Pro variant charges quicker thanks to 33W fast charging.

Price

All the prices of these phones are yet to be unveiled: for now, we only know that the starting price of the Pro variant roughly translates into $212/€200. Which one is the best? Naturally the Pro variant because of its high-end camera department, but for the rest, it is not so different from the other variants. Which one would you pick?
