Tecno had launched the Pova 3 in the Indian market back in June 2022. Now, the company is dropping the price tag of this device following the release of the successor of this smartphone earlier this month.

Talking about the smartphone itself first, the Pova 3 is an affordable mid range model. It sports a tall 6.9 inch LCD panel that offers Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the handset is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G88 processor and Mali G52 GPU that is paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. This model boots the Android 11 OS based HiOS out of the box.

The company offers a 50 megapixel triple camera sensor on the rear of the device, while the front packs an 8 megapixel selfie shooter. This device is also powered by a 7,000mAh battery pack that supports 33W fast charging. Other features include, a side mounted fingerprint scanner, USB Type C port, stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS, Glonass, and Beidou. The Tecno Pova 3 was originally launched for 11,999 INR for the 4GB + 64GB configuration earlier this year, while the 6GB + 128GB variant costs 12,999 INR on launch.

But now, following the release of the Pova 4 smartphone, the Pova 3’s base 4GB + 64GB model will be available for a discounted price tag of 9,999 INR. On the other hand, the 6GB + 128GB version will now cost 10,999 INR. Meaning, both models is being offered for a total discount of 2,000 INR.

The Tecno Pova 3 flaunts a massive 6.9-inch FHD+ LCD display with a resolution of 2460×1080 pixels. Under the hood, the Tecno Pova 3 features a MediaTek Helio G88 processor, paired with a Mali G52 GPU, up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 128GB storage.

The chip is paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage (there is a configuration with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage as well). The Camon 19 has the same memory configuration (4/128 GB instead of 4/64 GB for the base variant) but with an inferior Helio G85 processor by Mediatek built at 12 nm and running at a max frequency of 2 GHz. Not particularly inferior, but it is inferior. However, there is another important difference between these two phones: Tecno Camon 19 ships with Android 12 out of the box, while the Pova 3 is still based on Android 11.

Camera

The most advanced camera department is provided by the Tecno Camon 19. It has a better 64 MP main camera on the rear side and, even though it is not a camera phone, it wins this camera comparison. Even the selfie camera is better with its 16 MP resolution. Alongside the main camera, you get a 2 MP depth sensor, a third QVGA sensor, and a Quad-LED flash. Tecno Pova 3 has gone official in India. It succeeds the Tecno Pova 2 from last year. Like the predecessor model, it comes with a huge display and a gargantuan battery with fast charge support. Some of the other highlights of the Pova 3 include 50-megapixel triple cameras, an LED-assisted front camera, and an affordable price tag. Here is all the information on the specifications, features, and price of the Pova 3.

Tecno Pova 3 specifications and features

The Tecno Pova 3 has a 6.9-inch IPS LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels, a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device comes with a polycarbonate body that measures 173.1 x 78.46 x 9.44mm. The Electric Blue edition of the device has a vertical LED strip that glows while charging and notifications.

The Pova 3 is powered by the Helio G88 chipset. It comes with 6 GB of RAM, up to 5 GB of virtual RAM, and 128 GB of built-in storage. The device is loaded with the Android 12 OS and HiOS UI. For audiophiles, the device is equipped with dual stereo speakers with support for DTS sound effect. For a better gaming experience, the device has a Z-axis linear motor that makes vibrations during games.

The Pova 3 has a graphite cooling system inside for heat dissipation. It packs a 7,000mAh battery and its retail package includes a 33W fast charger. However, the device supports only 25W charging. The company claims that a fully charged Pova 3 can offer 55 days of standby time, 30 hours of video playback, and 14 hours of gaming. The device is fitted with a side-facing fingerprint scanner for security.

Coming to the optics, the Tecno Pova 3 has dual-LED flash assisted 8-megapixel camera on the front. Its back panel has a tripe camera unit with quad-LED flash. It features a 50-megapixel main snapper and two auxiliary cameras.

In the latest teaser, the brand hints that the Pova 3 will debut in three days, i.e on June 20. The main attraction of this device is its Mammont-sized 7000mAh battery that comes coupled with a decent budget mid-range spec sheet.

Tecno Pova 3 specifications (expected)

Tecno has already teased a bunch of the Pova 3’s key specifications. The specs that are still under wraps are expected to be the same as the Philippines variant.

According to the teaser, the Pova 3 will have a massive 6.9-inch Full HD+ LCD display panel with 90Hz refresh rate. It will have a centered punch hole for the front camera and noticeable bezels going around the display.

Under the hood, the smartphone will rock the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset with an octa-core processor and the Mali G52 GPU onboard. The device will be offered with 6GB RAM that can be virtually expanded up to 11GB (6GB + 5GB virtual). For storage, the smartphone will offer 128GB of internal capacity and a microSD card slot to expand the storage even further. As we know, the device will come with a gigantic battery pack of 7,000mAh capacity, which will be paired with 33W fast charging.

Coming to the optics, the teasers have revealed that the device will have a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Other than that, the device is expected to bring two more 2-megapixel sensors on the back making a triple camera setup. On the front, the POVA 3 will likely have an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

Apart from this, the device is confirmed to feature a Z-Axis Linear Motor for rich haptics and vibrations along with a dual stereo speaker setup for immersive audio. More details about the Pova 3 will be revealed at the launch event on June 20, so stay tuned.

Tecno Pova 3

The Tecno Pova 3 went official in the Philippines in late May. The device is now heading to India on June 20. It is expected to go official at around 12 PM IST in the country via a press release and social media posts.

The main highlight of this smartphone is its humongous 7,000mAh battery. This cell supports 33W fast charging and 10W reverse charging.

The handset offers a 6.9-inch FHD+ 90Hz display (LCD), a Mediatek Helio G88 SoC, up to 6GB + 128GB memory configuration, a 50MP + 2MP + 2MP triple camera system, an 8MP selfie camera, dual stereo speakers, z-axis linear vibration motor, and Android 11.

Realme C30

The Realme C30 is scheduled to launch in India on June 20. The phone’s global debut will happen via a live stream, which will start at 12:30 PM IST.

The handset will arrive with a revamped design featuring multiple stripes and a single 13MP camera on its rear panel. It will be powered by a Unisoc T612 chipset and will get its juice from a 5,000mAh battery.

Other features of this device will include a 6.58-inch FHD+ display sporting a dewdrop notch, 5MP selfie camera, MicroUSB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, Android Go Edition, and 10W charging.

Samsung Galaxy F13

Samsung has confirmed to announce the Gallaxy F13 in India on June 22. The phone will be made official at 12 PM IST. It could get unveiled in a live stream or just a press release accompanied by social media posts.

Talking about features, the South Korean electronics giant has revealed that the device will arrive with an FHD+ LCD screen, 6,000mAh battery, and 15W charging support.

Since the handset is said to be a rebranded Galaxy M13, it will likely come with an Exynos 850 SoC, 50MP (wide) + 5MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (depth) triple camera setup, and an 8MP selfie camera.

Poco F4 5G

The Poco F4 5G will be the biggest launch next week. The smartphone will go official in multiple markets, including India, on June 23 via a live stream on Youtube. The stream will begin at 8 PM GMT+8 (5:30 PM IST).

According to teasers and leaks, the successor of the Poco F3 5G will be a rebranded Redmi K40S with a different primary camera. Some of its main highlights will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, Dolby Vision-supported 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Dolby Atmos-supported dual stereo speakers, and 67W fast charging support.

The device will also come with features like VC liquid cooling technology, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3..1 storage, 64MP (wide, OIS) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) triple camera system, 20MP selfie camera, x-axis linear vibration motor, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, IP53 rating, and a 4,500mAh battery.

Poco X4 GT 5G

The Poco X4 GT is set to go official alongside the Poco F4 5G on June 23. The event will be live-streamed on Youtube from 8 PM GMT+8.

The handset will be a tweaked version of the Redmi Note 11T Pro. A reliable tipster says that the device will come with a Mediatek Dimensity 8100 SoC, 6.6-inch 120Hz LCD screen, 64MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera system, 20MP selfie camera, 5,080mAh battery, and 67W fast charging.

Unlike the Poco F4 5G, the Poco X4 GT may not release in India. Because the phone is expected to debut as Redmi K50i in the region.

It also confirms the POVA 3’s availability on the shopping platform The upcoming offering will arrive as the successor to the last year’s Tecno POVA 2.

Notably, the Tecno POVA 3 debuted in the Philippines market last month. As per the Amazon listing, the Indian variant will come with the same specifications. The smartphone will feature a 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a punch-hole cutout and a 90Hz refresh rate. The power button doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The back panel has a gradient design and a vertical running strip in the centre.

The Tecno Pova 3 brings a better camera department to the shelves thanks to a superior main camera. While its predecessor Tecno Pova 2 offered a 48 MP main sensor, the new device is equipped with a 50 MP main camera providing higher detail and better overall photo quality. The older model has one more camera on the rear side, but it is a useless 2 MP snapper, that is why it is better to have a superior main camera. In both cases, we are talking about low-end camera phones, but it is worth mentioning the difference between the camera setups. Both the handsets are able to record 1440p videos and feature 8 MP front cameras.

Battery

The battery is maybe the strongest point of these devices for a lot of people. They come with a huge battery capacity of 7000 mAh and, in 2022, the amount of phones with a so big battery is very low. Thanks to this battery, they are able to last several days on a single charge. Given that the components are similar and the processors are built with the same production process, the battery life between these two phones should not change too much. But you should note that the Tecno Pova 3 has faster charging speeds thanks to 25W fast charging (instead of just 18W).

Price

You need at least $180 to purchase the Tecno Pova 3 and at least Rs. 11,999 or $154 to buy the Pova 2 (we are talking about listing prices and not street prices). Which one would you pick?

The Tecno Pova 3 packs a 50MP main camera, two 2MP auxiliary sensors, and an 8MP selfie shooter. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio chipset with RAM/ storage configurations between 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. The storage of the Tecno Pova 3 is expandable via a microSD slot.

The Pova 3 is signposted by its powerful battery which can last up to 48 hours on a single charge. Some battery enhancement features are also available in the Tecno Pova 3. They include reverse charging and Super Power Saving Mode. The reverse charging function can deliver 10W charging for other devices. The smartphone is available in three color variants and the top model will sell at PHP 9,399 (~$180) in the Philippines. The Tecno Pova 3 will subsequently be available in other markets after the Philippines launch.

Tecno is scheduled to announce the POVA 3 smartphone on May 25 in the Philippines. The Facebook handle of the brand already has the design and a couple of key features of the smartphone. Now, tipster Paras Guglani has shared live shots of the smartphone.

The Tecno POVA 3 images show that it will be sporting a large-sized punch-hole display on the front. Its rear shell has a triple camera unit with a quad-LED flash unit alongside. The back panel of the device seems to have a matte finish with a slightly glossy vertical stripe in the middle.

Tecno Pova 3 specifications

The Tecno Pova 3 has a 6.95-inch IPS LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. The back panel of the device has a 50-megapixel primary camera. It is coupled with a pair of 2-megapixel cameras.

The Helio G88 chipset is present under the hood of the POVA 3. It houses a behemoth 7,000mAh battery, which carries support for 33W fast charging. The device runs on the Android 12 OS with HiOS on top. It offers other features such as a side-facing fingerprint canner, graphite cooling, DTS stereo speakers, Z-axis linear motor, and a microSD card slot.

In the Philippines, it is likely to carry a price tag of 8,999 PHP (~$172). The Electric Blue edition of the phone will be a limited variant priced at 9,399 PHP. It will also come in Tech Silver and Eco Black.

According to the tipster, the Tecno POVA 3 will debut in India next month. India may receive only the 6GB+128GB edition of the device. The POVA 3 color variants for India will be called Black Sea, Silver Sea, and Blue Sea.

We already know that Tecno is working on launching a new smartphone within the POVA series. Now, we have more details regarding the POVA 3 as its renders has been leaked, which showcases its design.

The latest leak was shared by tipster Paras Guglani. Looking at these renders, we have a close observation at the upcoming smartphone’s design and its possible color options as well. The handset will reportedly be available in three color variants, including a Electric Blue, Tech Silver, and Eco Black option. On the back of the device, we can see a triple camera setup that is stacked vertically on the top left corner, with the LED flash next to it.

Meanwhile on the front, the Tecno POVA 3 sports a center aligned punch hole cutout for the selfie camera. Notably, the rear panel also features a dual tone color finish with a vertical glossy strip dividing the two halves. Furthermore, the right side of the device also houses the volume rockers and the side mounted fingerprint scanner as well. Unfortunately, the leak did not reveal any other finer details regarding the new smartphone, but a previous report has offered us an idea regarding its specifications.

Tecno is reportedly working on the POVA 3 smartphone. Last month, tipster Paras Guglani spotted a Tecno phone with an LF7 model number in the database of the Bureau of India Standards (BIS). According to the tipster, this device will be arriving on the market with the Tecno POVA 3 moniker. His recent tweet has leaked the key specifications of the device.

The POVA 3 is likely to house a humongous 6.9-inch display with a centrally positioned punch-hole. It will offer a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels, a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate.

The Helio G88 chipset is expected to fuel the POVA 3. To recall, the predecessor model was powered by the Helio G85 SoC. The handset may arrive in two variants, such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.

The POVA 3 may feature an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a dual-LED flash. Its back panel could be equipped with a 50-megapixel triple camera unit and a quad-LED flash unit. It may house a 7,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It measures 173.1 x 78.4 x 9.4mm.

According to the source, the POVA 3 will only be available in India in a 6GB+128GB configuration. It is likely to arrive in three colors, such as Ecological Black, Silver Sea, and Blue Sea.
