As scheduled, Tecno has officially launched the TECNO POVA 5G in India. The latest handset from the brand for the country is its first-ever 5G smartphone. This phone was first announced in Nigeria at the end of December. Let’s check out how much it costs and what all it has to offer.

TECNO POVA 5G Price and Availability in India

The TECNO POVA 5G is priced at ₹19,999 ($268) in India for a limited time. It comes in a single Aether Black color option.

The first sale for the handset is planned for February 14 via Amazon India. Customers will get a power bank worth ₹1,999 ($27) for free.

TECNO POVA 5G Specifications and Features

The TECNO POVA 5G is built around a large 6.9-inch display (LCD) with a resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), 120Hz refresh rate, 20.5:9 aspect ratio, and 91% screen-to-body ratio. It measures 172.82 x 78.24 x 9.07mm in dimensions and features a plastic body like most budget smartphones.

The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset coupled with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. There’s support for up to 3GB MemFusion virtual RAM feature and a dedicated MicroSD card slot up to 512GB.

The handset houses a triple camera setup on the rear consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP secondary sensor, and an AI lens. For selfies and video calls, it uses a 16MP snapper.

On the connectivity front, the phone offers a dual-SIM card slot, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BeiDou), and USB Type-C. It has all the essential sensors like a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass.

Other features of the device include a 3.5mm headphone jack, DTS-supported speaker, z-axis linear vibration motor, 180Hz touch sampling rate, splash resistance, and 11 5G bands.

Lastly, the smartphone runs HiOS 8 based on Android 11 and gets its juice from a 6,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
