<p>Tecno has plans to unveil a new budget smartphone soon. But before its official announcement, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/tecno-pova-6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tecno Pova 6 5G</a> was spotted in a certification platform, which revealed one of its key specs and also hints at its imminent release. So here&#8217;s what we know.</p>

<h2>Tecno Pova 6 5G visits Google Play Console</h2>

<p>The brand&#8217;s upcoming Pova 6 5G model is expected to launch soon and it recently got spotted on the Google Play Console database carrying the KJ8s model number (Via <em><a href="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/tech-whispers/tecnos-pova-6-5g-appears-on-the-google-play-console-database-revealing-key-specs-of-the-upcoming-device/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">TheTechOutlook</a></em>). Looking at the listing, the certification confirms that the budget smartphone will run on the Android 14 OS out of the box and has a display resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels. The processor code reveals that the Tecno Pova 6 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset. Thanks to this chip, the device offers 5G connectivity over its 4G only <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/tecno-pova-6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pova 6</a> model.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Pova-6-5G-Feature-Image-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-672647" /><figcaption>Tecno Pova 6 Teaser</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>In our <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/10/tecno-pova-6-5g-teased-colombia/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">previous report</a>, it was revealed that the smartphone will feature a 120Hz refresh rate on the front. A large 5,000mAh battery pack could power the Pova 6 5G, which supports 33W wired fast charging. An official teaser also confirmed that the rear has a 108MP primary camera on the rear with what appears to be another sensor. Although, details regarding this secondary camera are still at large. </p>

<p>Other notable features may include NFC, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and the Dynamic Port 2.0. A couple of months prior, the company had also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/11/tecno-pova-6-neo-5g-debut-india/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">released the Tecno Pova 6 Neo</a> model, so the Pova 6 is likely positioned a step ahead of the Neo model. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="866" height="383" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Tecno-Pova-6-LI7-FCC-Battery-Dimensions.webp?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-610893" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Tecno-Pova-6-LI7-FCC-Battery-Dimensions.webp 866w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Tecno-Pova-6-LI7-FCC-Battery-Dimensions-300x133.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Tecno-Pova-6-LI7-FCC-Battery-Dimensions-768x340.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Tecno-Pova-6-LI7-FCC-Battery-Dimensions-696x308.webp 696w" sizes="(max-width: 866px) 100vw, 866px" /></figure></div>

<p>Coming to the FCC certification, the POVA 6 will feature a large 5,850mAh-rated battery along with 70W fast charging support. The schematics reveal that the phone will have a dual-camera setup on the rear, with a circular flash module. The schematic also has 256GB + 12GB written on it, which means that we can expect the device to be available in this configuration.</p>

<p>Some key details like the display type, refresh rate, camera resolution, etc, are still unclear. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/08/11/tecno-pova-5-pova-5-pro-india-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">POVA 5</a> which launched last year featured a 6.78-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with the same <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/helio-g99">Helio G99</a> chipset. As for the camera, it had a 50-megapixel main camera and an AI lens. So it&#8217;s likely that we see some improvements onboard the successor.</p>

<p>Both the standard and Pro variants recently received the Declaration of Conformity from Europe. This certification listing revealed some key features, such as a hefty 6,000mAh battery and potential support for 70W fast charging. However, detailed specifications for the Tecno Pova 6 are still under wraps.</p>

<p>Previously, the Tecno Pova 6 Pro was spotted on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/02/13/tecno-pova-6-pro-5g-bags-nbtc-certification-before-mwc-2024-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NBTC certification </a>platform, suggesting the device will also launch in Thailand. </p>

The listing reveals that the smartphone will feature a Full HD+ display, run on the latest Android 14 operating system, boast 12GB of RAM, and be powered by a Dimensity 6080 chipset.</p>

<p>MWC 2024 is scheduled for February 26-29. However, most smartphones will likely go official ahead of that. Gone are the days when Mobile World Congress used to be the destination of hot new phone releases.</p>

<p>Around 12 brands are expected to announce new phones. Only a couple of them fall under the premium category. While the rest of them are either mid-rangers or budget models.</p>

<p>Almost all of these handsets will be unveiled for global markets. The companies that will debut new smartphones are Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, iQOO, Nothing, HMD, Honor, Tecno, Infinix, and Itel.</p>

<p>Let’s check out these devices one by one.</p>

<h2><strong>Upcoming Smartphones in February 2024</strong></h2>

<h3><strong>Xiaomi 14 Ultra</strong></h3>

<p>The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/30/xiaomi-14-ultra-again-tipped-to-launch-by-february-end/">tipped to launch</a> by the end of February at either MWC or earlier. Unlike its predecessors, it is expected to see a wider global release.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="536" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Xiaomi-14-Ultra-Hands-on-1-1024x536.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 14 Ultra Hands on -1" class="wp-image-596347" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Xiaomi-14-Ultra-Hands-on-1-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Xiaomi-14-Ultra-Hands-on-1-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Xiaomi-14-Ultra-Hands-on-1-768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Xiaomi-14-Ultra-Hands-on-1-696x364.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Xiaomi-14-Ultra-Hands-on-1-1068x559.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Xiaomi-14-Ultra-Hands-on-1-803x420.jpg 803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Xiaomi-14-Ultra-Hands-on-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The device is said to arrive with a quad 50MP camera system. The primary camera will be a Sony LYT-900 with variable aperture. It will be paired with an ultrawide unit, a telephoto shooter, and a periscope telephoto snapper.</p>

<p>The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and draw energy from a 5,180mah battery. It will support 90W wired and 50W wireless charging standards.</p>

<p>It is anticipated to carry a higher price tag due to a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/02/01/xiaomi-14-ultra-price-hike-due-to-an-increased-bill-of-materials-claims-dcs/">rise in BOM (Bill of Materials)</a>.</p>
