TECNO is all set to launch its new POVA-series smartphone in the Indian market, and the company has already announced that the TECNO POVA Neo 5G will be officially launched in India on 23rd September, i.e. tomorrow.

Ahead of the official launch, the company has confirmed some of the key specifications of the upcoming smartphone, including processor, battery, and charging speed, while other details have been leaked online.

As per the report, the TECNO POVA Neo 5G smartphone will feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, but more details about the screen aren’t available. The company had previously revealed that the phone would come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor.

In terms of memory, the device is likely to come packed with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In the camera department, there will be a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor. On the front side, there will be an 8-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The company recently confirmed through the teaser poster that the smartphone will be powered by a 6,000mAh battery and have support for 18W fast charging.

The smartphone will be offered in two color options — Saphire Black and Sprint Blue. We expect the device to be priced somewhere around ₹17,000-19,000. To know for sure, we will have to wait for the official launch in a few hours.

Transsion Electronics’ Tecno has officially launched the all-new Tecno Pova Neo smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone has the same specs as the previously launched Nigerian model, but on top of that, it comes at a cheaper price in the Indian region.

The Tecno Pova Neo costs Rs 12,999(~$174) for the sole 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant in India. This is slightly cheaper than the ~$177 price tag of the phone in Nigeria.

The phone comes in Obsidian Black, Geek Blue, and Power Black color variants. The device will go on sale from January 22 via authorized retail stores in India. Interestingly, those who buy the phone in the initial sale will get a free pair of the Tecno Free earbuds worth Rs 1,499.

Tecno Pova Neo Specifications 

The Tecno Pova Neo comes with a large 6.8-inch DotNotch display sporting an HD+(720 x 1640 pixels) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It has 480 nits of peak brightness and a narrow bezel design. The smartphone has a textured back at the rear, which apparently makes it easy to hold.

It comes equipped with a dual-camera system featuring a 13MP main lens and an unknown secondary lens. It has an 8MP selfie camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The smartphone comes with a quad-LED setup at the rear.

Inside, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 SoC paired with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Tecno is offering a 5GB of virtual RAM expansion feature where the phone will borrow 5GB from its internal storage to use it as additional RAM. It packs a 6,000mAh battery with an 18W fast charging support. It runs on Android 11 out of the box with HiOS 7.6 on the top.

The company claims that the phone will get up to 43 hours of talk time and up to 55 days of standby on a single charge. It has dual-SIM support with 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth v5.1. It features a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port as well.

Chinese phone maker TECNO has scheduled to launch the TECNO POVA Neo smartphone on January 20 in India. But, now, ahead of its launch, the smartphone is already available for purchase on Mahesh Telecom at a budget price.

Mahesh Telecom is a retail store in India and it is offering the device for a price of Rs 12,999(~$174). Interestingly, this isn’t any unauthentic listing, rather the teaser poster tweeted by the retail store’s Twitter handle seems to be a legit one. It also reveals some of its features. We also get to know its color variants – Black and Blue.

The poster reveals the phone’s configuration – 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which we expect to be the sole variant in the country. The smartphone also has RAM expansion support of up to 11GB. It basically has 5GB of virtual RAM support on top of the 6GB original RAM making it a total of 11GB. This is something similar to the Realme 9i, which arrived in India today.

In terms of its specs, the phone was already launched in Nigeria, and we can expect the same model to arrive in India. The smartphone has a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+(1640 x 720 pixels) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

At the helm, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 SoC and has a big 6,000mAh battery. The battery has an 18W fast charging support via the USB Type-C port. The device features a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP selfie lens. It has a side-facing fingerprint scanner and boots on HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11 out of the box.

Xiaomi 11T Pro

The Xiaomi 11T Pro will be released in India on January 19. Like any other Xiaomi event in the country, this one will also kickstart at 12 PM on the official YouTube channel. You can also expect live updates from the official Twitter handles of Xiaomi India and Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain.

Yesterday, Xiaomi disclosed that the handset will go on sale on announcement day itself. Customers will be able to order the product from 2 PM.

The Xiaomi 11T Pro, which is also known as ‘The HyperPhone’, initially went official in September 2021. In India, It will compete against the recently launched OnePlus 9RT.

The Tecno Pova Neo made its debut in Nigeria in early December 2021. It will make its entry in India on January 20. Just like the Xiaomi 11T Pro, this phone will likely go on sale on its announcement day itself.

The Tecno Pova Neo will be the cheapest of all three smartphones launching in India next week. Earlier last month, Transsion brand Tecno launched a smartphone called TECNO POVA Neo in Nigeria. The main highlight of the device is its large 6,000mAh battery. Weeks later, the company is now teasing to release this very same handset in India.

The official Tecno India Twitter account posted a short video teaser for the upcoming TECNO POVA Neo yesterday. Though the video doesn’t say much about the phone, we already know everything about the smartphone since it’s already official.
