Tecno had just recently announced the new Spark 9T for the Indian market. And now, the company is gearing up to release the smartphone for its first sale through Amazon in the region later tonight (5th August 2022). So let’s have a look at its pricing, specifications, and offer.

Talking about the smartphone first, the Spark 9T sports a 6.6 inch LCD panel that has a Full HD+ resolution with a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, the handset is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC that is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Spark 9T also features a triple camera setup, which include a 50 megapixel primary sensor, 2 megapixel portrait lens, and an AI sensor.

Meanwhile, the front houses an 8 megapixels selfie shooter. The device is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. Other features include a micro USB charging port, a dedicated microSD card slot, side mounted fingerprint scanner, IPX2 water splash resistance, Bluetooth 5, 4G, Dual SIM, and GPS.

The Tecno Spark 9T will be offered in two color options in India, namely Atlantic Blue and Turquoise Cyan. This smartphone is priced at 9,299 INR for the lone 4GB + 64GB storage configuration. Notably, this is the introductory pricing at the moment. The handset will go on sale via Amazon India as a part of their Amazon Great Freedom Festival sale, and buyers can avail a flat 10 percent discount with SBI Credit Card.

Tecno Spark 9T has debuted in India. It had launched in Nigeria last month. However, the Indian variant comes with a few different specifications. The latest offering is the second Spark 9 series phone in the country after the regular variant that debuted earlier this month.

Tecno Spark 9T specifications 

The Tecno Spark 9T comes with a 6.6-inch display bearing an FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. The back panel sports a horizontal camera module and vertical stripes below it. 

The Tecno Spark 9T features a triple rear camera. The setup comprises a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP portrait unit, and an AI lens. There is an 8MP front-facing selfie camera. 

Internally the Tecno Spark 9T is equipped with MediaTek’s Helio G35 processor. The chipset is paired with 4GB RAM along with 3GB virtual memory. The device packs 64GB onboard storage. The smartphone will draw its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 18W fast charging. The Tecno Spark 9T runs on HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11.

The Tecno Spark 9T carries a special launch price tag of Rs 9,299. It is offered in Turquoise Cyan, Atlantic Blue, Iris Purple, and Tahiti Gold colours. The smartphone can be purchased from Amazon starting on August 6th.

This month Tecno released two great affordable phones: the Tecno Spark 9T and the Tecno Spark 9 Pro. They are very beautiful phones to be just entry-level devices. Their designs are pretty original and they also come with interesting specifications if we consider their actual prices. They do not feature the 5G connectivity, but they are very affordable and a lot of people are wondering which one to buy, given that they belong to the same range. This is a comparison between the specifications of the Tecno Spark 9T and the Tecno Spark 9 Pro which will help you to understand the differences between these two budget phones.

Tecno Spark 9T vs Tecno Spark 9 Pro

Design

The design of the Tecno Spark 9T is clean and minimal. It has two round camera modules which remind me of the latest Honor phones, a high screen to body ratio, and a waterdrop notch. Nothing special to mention, but it is definitely an elegant phone even though it is just a cheap device. The Tecno Spark 9 Pro is more interesting because it comes with catchier color variants and a texture made of letters on the rear side. It is definitely a more interesting phone for young people. It has a high screen to body ratio just like its sibling, but it is thinner, even though it features the same battery capacity. The camera modules are similar to the ones found on the 9T, with a LED flash on the right. Both the phone feature 3.5 mm audio jacks on the lower border, but they do not come with stereo speakers.

Display

The displays found on these devices are nothing special if compared to other affordable devices. They are IPS panels, so do not expect the best image quality out there because they can only be considered sufficient display. The Tecno Spark 9 Pro wins the image quality comparison because it comes with a higher resolution: Full HD+ with 1080 x 2460 pixels, while the Tecno Spark 9T has a lower HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. However, if you are a gamer, you might prefer the Tecno Spark 9T because it has a higher refresh rate: 90 Hz instead of just 60 Hz. As mentioned above there are no stereo speakers, but these phones feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader and it is placed on the power key. Both the displays have a diagonal of 6.6 inches, which is why these devices have similar dimensions.

Specs & Software

The most powerful device of this duo is undoubtedly the Tecno Spark 9 Pro. It is equipped with a Mediatek Helio G85 mobile platform running at 2 GHz and built at 12 nm. The SoC is composed of two Cortex-A75 cores running at 2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.8 GHz, as well as a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The chipset is paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage you can furtherly expand with a micro SD dedicated slot. The Tecno Spark 9T is powered by the MediaTek Helio G37 mobile platform running at a max frequency of 2.3 GHz and built at 12 nm. The chipset is composed of four Cortex A53 CPUs running at 2.3 GHz, four Cortex A53 CPUs running at 1.8 GHz, and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It has 4 GB of RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB of native storage, expandable with a micro SD.

Camera

The best camera setup belongs to the Tecno Spark 9 Pro which wins the camera comparison as well. On the rear side, it has a 50 MP main sensor, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a QVGA lens, as well as a 32 MP front snapper for selfies. It is not a high-end camera, but way better than the main camera found on the Tecno Spark 9T. The 9T has a 13 MP main sensor and the same secondary sensors as the Pro version, as well as the same 32 MP selfie snapper. What makes the difference is the main sensor with its disappointing 13 MP resolution.

Battery

The Tecno Spark 9T and the Tecno Spark 9 Pro have the same battery capacity: 5000 mAh. The battery life is similar, but the 9T should last more in a lot of scenarios due to its lower display resolution. On the other hand, the Pro variant is the only one to support fast charging with a power of 18W.

Price

If you need a unit of the Tecno Spark 9T, you have to pay about €180/$188 at the actual change in the Indian market. The Tecno Spark 9 Pro is yet to hit the shelves and we still do not know how much it will cost. The Pro variant wins the comparison due to its higher display resolution, better 50 MP main camera, superior chipset, a higher quantity of RAM, and, last but not least, 18W fast charging technology.

Now the brand is back with a new Spark 9-series phone called the Spark 9T. Here is all the information on the specifications, features, and price of the Spark 9T.

Tecno Spark 9T specifications and features

The Spark 9T has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen that delivers a Full HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. There is a teardrop notch on the screen, which houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Moving to the back reveals a triple camera setup having two large-sized camera rings. It has a 13-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth-sensing unit, and an AI lens. The device comes preinstalled with Android 12 OS with HiOS 8.6 UI on top.

The MediaTek Helio G37 is present under the hood of the Spark 9T. The device is equipped with 4 GB of RAM, up to a 128 GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot for additional storage. The handset packs a 5,000mAh battery that support for 10W charging. It offers other features such as a side-facing fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Tecno Spark 9T price and availability

For now, the Spart 9T is available only in Nigeria. It comes in two options: 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. These variants are priced at NGN 78,300 (~$188) and 88,000 (~$211). It can be purchased in colours like Atlantic Blue, Turquoise Cyan, Iris Purple and Cocoa Gold. The Spark 9T is expected to release in other countries too in the coming weeks.
