<p>After teasing its ultra-thin concept phone earlier this year, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/tecno/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tecno</a> has officially launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/28/the-tecno-spark-slim-is-incredibly-thin-yet-still-packs-a-bigger-battery-than-the-s25-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tecno Spark Slim</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/31/tecno-pova-slim-5g-india-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tecno Pova Slim</a>. Both devices keep the spotlight on thinness, while still packing in surprisingly powerful hardware.</p>

<p>The Spark Slim measures just 5.75mm, nearly identical to the concept version shown off months ago. Inside that frame, Tecno managed to squeeze in a 5,160mAh battery, made possible by its custom Honeycomb space stacking technology. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="504" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-SLim-and-Pova-Slim-launches.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-704770" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-SLim-and-Pova-Slim-launches.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-SLim-and-Pova-Slim-launches-300x168.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-SLim-and-Pova-Slim-launches-768x430.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-SLim-and-Pova-Slim-launches-696x390.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-SLim-and-Pova-Slim-launches-750x420.jpg 750w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The battery itself is just 4.04mm thick, while the phone also has a razor-thin 0.3mm vapor chamber that helps keep thermals under control. To top it off, both phones use an aerospace-grade fiberglass back measuring only 0.36mm.</p>

<p>On the outside, the Spark Slim also gets a unique touch: a Mood Light LED bar that brings multi-scene lighting effects and animated notifications. Both phones share a 50MP main rear camera, but Tecno seems to be betting more on design and display than on a heavy camera system.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="501" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-Slim-internals.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-704771" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-Slim-internals.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-Slim-internals-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-Slim-internals-768x428.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-Slim-internals-696x387.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Tecno-Spark-Slim-internals-754x420.jpg 754w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Speaking of display, both the Spark Slim and Pova Slim come with curved AMOLED screens, offering a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and an impressive 4,500 nits peak brightness. Under the hood, the Spark Slim runs on MediaTek’s Helio G200, while the Pova Slim is powered by the Dimensity 6400, giving it 5G support out of the box.</p>

<p>The phone supports 45W wired charging and 10W reverse wired charging, and boots on Android 15 (HiOS skin), complete with Tecno’s latest AI-powered features.</p>

<p>The company has not revealed the price or availability details yet. Tecno has an event scheduled for September 4 for this.</p>

<h3><strong>Tecno&#8217;s upcoming ultra-thin phone: price, key specifications (rumored)</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="684" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-1024x684.jpg?x44794" alt="Tecno Spark Slim concept phone" class="wp-image-687692" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-1536x1026.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-629x420.jpg 629w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Tecno Spark Slim concept phone</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Although Tecno has not officially confirmed the name for the Indian variant, it could be based on the Spark Slim. According to an <a href="https://navbharattimes.indiatimes.com/tech/gadgets-news/tecno-to-launch-worlds-slimmest-5g-curved-smartphone-in-india-soon-expected-name-spark-slim/articleshow/123446453.cms">NBT report</a>, it has learned from the publication that the smartphone will be priced around Rs 80,000 (~$915), positioning it in the premium category. Since the brand is known for using “Spark” branding for entry-level phones, the Rs 80,000 slim phone may carry a different moniker.</p>

<p>The key specifications of this mysterious phone have also been revealed. Measuring just 5.95mm in thickness, it is slimmer than a pencil and designed to appeal to buyers looking for cutting-edge design. To recall, the Spark Slim concept sported a thinner 5.75mm design.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="524" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim.jpg?x44794" alt="Tecno Spark Slim" class="wp-image-675259" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-768x447.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-696x405.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-721x420.jpg 721w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>Tecno Spark Slim</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Speaking of the battery, the phone is expected to house a 5,200mAh battery, which adds to its appeal. It is said to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, offering smooth and vibrant visuals. For photography, it will likely come with a 50-megapixel rear camera.</p>

<p>If launched as expected, Tecno will take on rivals like Samsung and Apple, who are also preparing slim flagships. Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge with a thinner design, while Apple is preparing to announce the iPhone 17 Air in September. With the Spark Slim, Tecno could gain an edge in the market by offering the world’s slimmest 5G curved smartphone in India.</p>

<p>Smartphones in 2025 are no longer just about speed, battery life, or camera prowess; they’re about feel. And weight is quietly becoming a spec that matters again. As phone screens grow larger and batteries swell past the 5000mAh mark, some manufacturers are pushing back against the gravity of modern slabs with smarter design, lighter materials, and tighter engineering. The result: a new wave of devices that somehow manage to pack flagship power or serious utility into bodies that weigh less than ever.</p>

<p>Here are seven of the lightest smartphones launched in 2025, across flagship, midrange, foldable, and even budget segments, that prove you don’t need to feel the heft to get high-end function.</p>

<h3><strong>Samsung Galaxy S25 (162g)</strong></h3>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> kicked off the year strong with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S25</a>, a phone that returns to basics in the best possible way. At just 162 grams, it’s one of the lightest premium smartphones in recent memory, all without cutting the muscle. It runs on the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, co-engineered with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/qualcomm/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Qualcomm</a>, paired with a 4000mAh battery and a triple-camera system that includes a 50MP main sensor.</p>

<p>It’s rare for a flagship with a glass-and-metal build to drop below 170g, but Samsung managed to shave off weight from last year’s S24 (~167g) by refining materials and internal layouts. The 6.2-inch AMOLED screen, IP68 rating, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 finish make it feel anything but stripped down. The Galaxy S25 is a reminder that premium doesn’t have to be heavy.</p>

<h3><strong>Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (163g)</strong></h3>

<p>If the S25 is compact elegance, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-edge/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">S25 Edge</a> is its futuristic twin, sleek, long, and impressively thin. At just 5.8mm thick and 163 grams, this 6.7-inch phone is lighter than many smaller devices. Samsung gave it the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 12GB of RAM, but it sacrifices the telephoto lens and drops the battery slightly to 3900mAh to maintain that razor-thin profile.</p>

<p>It’s less about being the most powerful device on paper and more about showing what’s possible when you prioritize design. Samsung calls it the lightest “phablet-class” flagship of 2025, and it holds up in hand: light, sturdy, and surprisingly ergonomic for its size.</p>

<h3><strong>Xiaomi 15 (189–191g)</strong></h3>

<p>At first glance, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a>’s latest flagship might seem like a typical premium phone. But at under 191 grams with a 5240mAh battery, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-15/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15</a> is anything but average. It achieves the rare feat of combining longevity and lightness in a compact chassis. The 6.36-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and Leica-tuned triple 50MP camera system round out the package.</p>

<p>With 90W wired charging and a slim 8.1mm profile, Xiaomi shows how to maximize without overstuffing. In a market where most flagships with 5000mAh+ batteries weigh well over 210g, the Xiaomi 15 stands out as a clever exercise in balancing form and function.</p>

<h3><strong>Google Pixel 9a (186g)</strong></h3>

<p>Google’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-9a/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pixel 9a</a> hits that sweet spot of size, weight, and simplicity. At 185.9g, it’s the lightest phone in Google’s 2025 lineup, even lighter than the flagship Pixel 9. You still get a 6.3-inch OLED screen, the latest Tensor G4 chip, and a generous 5100mAh battery.</p>

<p>The design is clean and practical, with a plastic-aluminum frame that keeps weight down without feeling cheap. It includes wireless charging, IP67 water resistance, and a dual-camera setup (48MP main + 13MP ultrawide). While it’s not featherlight by absolute standards, for a midrange 5G phone with real stamina, the Pixel 9a feels refreshingly light in the hand.</p>

<h3><strong>Vivo V50 (189g)</strong></h3>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/vivo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vivo</a> has quietly built a reputation for making well-balanced midrange phones, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-v50/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">V50</a> continues that streak. With a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and a 5000mAh battery, it should feel hefty, but it doesn’t. At 189 grams, the Satin Black edition of the V50 feels unexpectedly light, especially compared to similar phones that tip the scale past 200g.</p>

<p>It’s powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip with up to 12GB RAM, supports 90W fast charging, and includes dual 50MP cameras. Its 7.4mm thin body makes it easier to grip and pocket, while the polished design keeps it stylish. Vivo didn’t compromise on screen size or endurance, it simply engineered smarter.</p>

<h3><strong>Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 (199g)</strong></h3>

<p>Foldables are notorious for bulk, but <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola</a>’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-razr-ultra-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">2025 Razr Ultra</a> proves they don’t have to be. Despite a 7-inch inner screen, 4-inch outer display, and a huge 4700mAh battery, the Razr Ultra weighs just 199 grams. That’s practically unheard of in the foldable space.</p>

<p>The Snapdragon 8 Elite and 16GB of RAM make it a powerhouse, but it’s the titanium hinge and efficient component layout that really deserve credit. For comparison, Samsung’s Z Flip 6 (2024) comes in at around 188g with a far smaller battery. Motorola traded a few extra grams for all-day battery life, and it’s a fair deal.</p>

<h3><strong>Tecno Spark Slim (166g)</strong></h3>

<p>Tecno shocked the tech world at MWC 2025 with the Spark Slim, a concept phone that feels like it belongs in a sci-fi flick. Measuring just 5.75mm thick and weighing 166 grams, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/05/21/how-thin-can-phone-get-we-explore-tecno-spark-slims-vision-smartphones/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">it’s the thinnest phone ever revealed</a>, yet it houses a 5200mAh battery. Yes, really.</p>

<p>This phone is more proof-of-concept than daily driver, with modest specs and limited availability, but it makes a point: thin and light is possible, even in the budget segment. Whether or not the Spark Slim makes it to mass market, it sets a new benchmark.</p>

<p>A few years ago, if you asked a smartphone maker about building a phone under 6mm thick, they’d probably laugh or worse, remind you of how badly that went last time. Thin phones used to mean thermal throttling, pitiful battery life, and bending under pressure. They were a dead trend, confined to the concept shelves.</p>

<p>But somehow, in 2025, thin is trending again. Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.8mm. Tecno also unveiled the Spark Slim concept at 5.75mm with a 5,200mAh battery (yes, really). Even Apple is rumored to be entering the race with the iPhone 17 Air, expected to arrive later this year at just 5.5mm.</p>

<p>This isn’t a throwback. It’s a reinvention.</p>

<h3><strong>Thin, Rebooted</strong></h3>

<p>The last era of ultra-thin phones ended badly. Devices like the Vivo X5 Max or Gionee Elife S5.1 were engineering marvels, but compromised everything else. Cameras were terrible. Batteries barely lasted a workday. Some bent under pressure from tight jeans.</p>

<p>This time, manufacturers aren’t just flattening their phones. They’re rethinking the stack.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1920" height="1282" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-687688" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03-1536x1026.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-03-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /><figcaption>TECNO Spark Slim</figcaption></figure>

<p>Take <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/28/the-tecno-spark-slim-is-incredibly-thin-yet-still-packs-a-bigger-battery-than-the-s25-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tecno&#8217;s Spark Slim.</a> At first glance, it looks like a design concept meant to impress on the MWC floor. But look closer, and it’s one of the most ambitious phones shown this year. It uses a layered packaging system called Honeycomb Structure Stacking, which compresses internal components tighter than typical flagships.</p>

<p>Combined with ultra-compact custom components and a high-density 4.04mm battery, Tecno manages something that feels almost impossible: fitting a full-day battery into a phone thinner than a USB-C cable. Instead of chasing the trend of silicon-carbon, Tecno sticks with a more proven Lithium Cobalt Oxide (LCO) chemistry, known for better long-term stability and resistance to swelling, which is critical in ultra-thin designs. The 45W fast-charging cell fills up in just 65 minutes.</p>

<p>Even more surprising, Tecno isn’t pitching this as a flagship. The company wants the Spark Slim or whatever version of it ends up in stores to sit in the mid-range, targeted at buyers in emerging markets.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1920" height="1282" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-687689" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01-1536x1026.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-01-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /><figcaption>How thin the TECNO Spark Slim is</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>That’s a sharp contrast to Samsung, which keeps the S25 Edge firmly in premium territory. It’s sleek, light, and stylish, but its 3,900mAh battery and 25W charging remind you that compromises still exist when you shrink things down. That device starts at $1,099. Tecno, meanwhile, wants to make thinness affordable.</p>

<h3><strong>Form Is Getting Smarter</strong></h3>

<p>The return of thin isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about a growing consensus that phones don’t need to be massive bricks to be powerful anymore. Chipsets are more efficient. Batteries don’t need to be enormous thanks to software-level optimizations. And for a lot of users, performance has already plateaued. Good is good enough.</p>

<p>But thin phones are still risky business. One wrong engineering choice and you’re back to devices that overheat, snap in half, or die by dinner. Thermal dissipation in particular remains a huge challenge. Tecno says its new graphene-based cooling system covers over 24,000mm² of internal space. That sounds impressive, but we won’t know how it performs until it hits consumer hands.</p>

<p>Samsung, to its credit, is playing it safer with a titanium body, ceramic glass, and modest power draw. And Apple? If the rumors are true, the iPhone 17 Air could be a design flex first and a performance machine second, more like a MacBook Air in spirit than a Pro Max killer.</p>

<h3><strong>Who Are These Phones For</strong></h3>

<p>That’s the real question. Because ultra-thin isn’t for everyone.</p>

<p>Gamers want cooling and endurance. Camera nerds want periscope lenses and massive sensors. Hardcore users want multiple days of battery life, not a slim silhouette.</p>

<p>But for a growing segment of users, especially in urban markets and developing regions, portability, comfort, and one-hand usability are winning again. Not everyone wants a slab. Some people just want a phone that feels like it fits.</p>

<p>And Tecno’s mid-market approach makes sense here. In cities where people are on the move all day, carrying multiple devices or navigating crowded transport, a below-150g phone that lasts all day is a compelling pitch. Thinness becomes more than cosmetic. It’s ergonomic.</p>

<h3><strong>The Bigger Shift Behind the Thin Trend</strong></h3>

<p>There’s also something deeper happening. The smartphone market has been locked in a specs race for years. More cameras, more RAM, more charging watts. But that’s made phones feel repetitive, even bloated. Ultra-thin phones don’t just look different. They represent a different set of priorities.</p>

<p>They show that it’s possible to achieve good performance and design without adding more bulk.</p>

<p>And that makes thinness less of a fad and more of a design philosophy, one that could ripple outward to other categories: tablets, wearables, maybe even foldables. After all, thin is essential when your device needs to bend or disappear into your pocket.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1920" height="1282" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-687692" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-1536x1026.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/TECNO-Spark-Slim-02-1-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></figure>

<h3><strong>So, Is Thin Here to Stay?</strong></h3>

<p>Not everywhere. Most flagship phones will stay thick for now because they have to be. Bigger cameras, more sensors, and multi-day batteries aren’t getting any smaller. But in the middle of the market, thin might carve out a real niche. Not just as a fashion statement, but as a practical alternative to feature bloat.</p>

<p>Whether Tecno’s Spark Slim hits mass production or Apple’s iPhone 17 Air lives up to the leaks, one thing is clear. The thin phone isn’t dead. It just needed a smarter reason to exist.</p>

<p>And in 2025, it might have finally found one.</p>

<p>Smartphone brands seem to be focusing on making devices thinner in 2025. Samsung recently revealed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/23/samsung-galaxy-s25-edge-hands-on-video-gives-first-look-at-the-real-device/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S25 Edge</a> with a slim design, and Apple is rumored to be launching the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-17-air/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iPhone </a><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-17-air/">17 Air</a> later this year. Now, Tecno is joining the trend with the Spark Slim, a concept phone set to be showcased at MWC 2025.</p>

<p>The Spark Slim measures just 5.75mm thick, making it the world’s slimmest phone, according to Tecno. Despite its slimness, it packs a 5,200mAh battery, which is even bigger than what you get on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which measures 8.2mm.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="524" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-675259" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-768x447.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-696x405.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-721x420.jpg 721w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>

<p>The phone has a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Tecno also claims the screen has a peak brightness of 4,500 nits which should be plenty for outdoor visibility.</p>

<p>Many slim smartphones trade battery life for design, but Tecno says the Spark Slim avoids this issue with a high-density battery and 45W fast charging. Under the hood, it runs on an octa-core processor—though Tecno hasn’t revealed exactly which chip it’s using.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="524" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-thinness.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-675260" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-thinness.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-thinness-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-thinness-768x447.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-thinness-696x405.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-thinness-721x420.jpg 721w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>On the back, the Spark Slim sports a dual 50MP camera system, while the front gets a 13MP selfie shooter. Tecno has also added a light band around the rear cameras for a bit of extra flair.</p>

<p>The company says it prioritized both durability and weight, using recycled aluminum and a stainless steel unibody. And design-wise, the Spark Slim is definitely eye-catching—especially its camera module. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-design-1024x512.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-675261" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-design-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-design-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-design-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-design-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-design-1068x534.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-design-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tecno-Spark-Slim-design.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>It features a horizontal, pill-shaped layout, but instead of the usual centered sensors, the two cameras sit at the far left and right. The look is somewhat reminiscent of the rumored <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/18/apple-iphone-17-air-slim-design-render-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iPhone 17 Air renders</a> that have been making the rounds.</p>

<p>Tecno will display the phone at its MWC 2025 booth. Hopefully, we will be there to give you more details on it.</p>
