Japanese car manufacturing giant Toyota is a household name in the ICE vehicle segment. The company has also made in-roads into the electric vehicle segment with several hybrids and in recent times, Pure electric vehicles. There are indications that the company will be launching an electric three-wheeler at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.

The company had earlier filed a trademark application for the moniker “Land Hopper” in August this year but it was thought to be something else at the time. However, the company has now revealed that the land hopper is actually a three-wheeled electric personal mobility concept. call it an electric trike if you like but it is more of a moped than a motorcycle. If you love to have powerful electric mobility, then the Land Hopper may not be for you as it may not have the ferocious power you desire.

The Japanese automobile giant is yet to release much detail about the Land Hopper apart from a couple of teaser images. We expect more details to be revealed when it is unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show. What we know, though, is that the concept is a foldable three-wheeler which Toyota is propping as a last-mile vehicle that can easily fit in the trunk of your vehicle just like an e-scooter. This foldable feature reminds us of the iconic Honda Motocompo which recently got an electric version christened Honda Motocompacto. , something you can stow away inside your car or truck (perhaps your Land Cruiser) and use to perambulate about the premises once you’ve arrived.

In addition, the Toyota Land Hopper utilizes a leaning control design. The front has two wheels while it has a single wheel at the rear. The suspended seat has a shock-absorbing spring underneath which should make for a comfortable ride. Apart from these few details, we don’t have any more titbits about the three-wheeler.
