Trek is launching the Fuel EXe Alloy electric mountain bike as a lower and more affordable version of its Fuel e-bike lineup. The bike comes with an aluminum frame, compared to the carbon frame of the original model. This translates to the lower pricing range of the new e-bike.

Trek released the original Fuel lineup of mountain bikes a few years back and they have been formidable models in the all-mountain and enduro categories. Back in October 2022, Trek unveiled the premium Fuel Exe 9.5 eMTB with a carbon frame. The Trek’s Fuel EXe Alloy retains versatility and robustness, as well as an aggressive endure outlook.

The Fuel EXe Alloy is equipped with the TQ silent HPR50 motor that delivers a more natural pedal feel. It has 50Nm of torque which provides a sufficient boost on the mountain trail. It is fitted with a 360Wh battery pack, as well as an optional 160Wh range extender. With the additional battery pack, the Fuel EXe Alloy’s riding time is up to 7 hours on a single charge. The bike has a companion mobile app – Trek Central. The app gives the user access to additional settings and system updates. Other functions available with the app are activity tracking, bike setup tips, and a navigation system.

The aluminum frame of the EXe Alloy packs some cutting-edge technology, with the MINO Link helping to adjust the rear suspension geometry. If you desire additional maneuverability, you can replace the bike’s rear 29” wheel with a 27.5-inch wheel. The bike’s ABP suspension system’s rear pivot achieves full suspension actuation when braking. The bike weighs up to 20.80kg depending on the configuration and frame size.

Trek’s Fuel EXe Alloy eMTB starts at $5,499 and the top configuration maxes at $7,399. The availability of the model is tied to the US market at this time.
