Following the flagship launchings from Huawei and Xiaomi, the Umidigi is around the corner with its new premium S series smartphone. The Umidigi S5 Pro will have some top-notch features that we are detailing below.

Pop-Up camera for full-view display

Eliminating any punch-hole or waterdrop notch as like on Huawei P40 Pro, Umidigi will bring a pop-up camera to provide fluent user-experience without any problem. In a recent launch teaser from the company, the smartphone will provide premium display experience.

In-Display Fingerprint

Busting the rumors of side fingerprint sensors, Umidigi in a new teaser hints the phone to carry a regular-sized power button that confirms the presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor on UMIDIGI S5 Pro. It will be a great addition to enhancing the user experience.

Performance  

The company didn’t reveal anything about the processor or GPU present on the device. However, some rumors state the presence of a liquid cooling system and massive internal storage capacity. It will be the “Speed Flagship” that will hosts specifications on par with its predecessors.

UMIDIGI announces a new smartwatch called UFit with SpO2 sensor, which is usually not found on smartwatches including the popular Apple Watch. Priced at $29.99, it is currently the cheapest wearable to come with this sensor on board.

In case you do not know, SpO2 sensors are used to measure blood oxygen levels. A normal healthy person usually has blood oxygen levels in the range of 95-100 percent. Lower than this level, even less than 90 percent is considered unhealthy. In addition to this sensor, the UMIDIGI UFit also features a heart rate sensor, which is found on almost all the wearables out there in the market.

The UFit comes with a 1.3-inch color display surrounded by stainless steel chassis. It has all the features a wearable must have such as 24 x 7 heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, fitness tracking, music playback controls, and more. This smart device is also water-resistant up to  50 meters and hence users can take it for swims without any hassle.

Chinese tech company UMIDIGI has revealed via a tweet posted recently that it will launch a new smartwatch which has as its biggest feature a SpO2 monitor. The smartwatch will be called UMIDIGI UFit and isn’t just a smartwatch but a fitness and health tracker. The product will be launched on March 16.

In the face of the Coronavirus outbreak, the focus on health and fitness has increased. The blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) level is a vital indicator of a person’s health. This tracking the SpO2 level is also a new wearable tech metric getting adopted by more manufacturers. It might sound complicated but SpO2 can reveal conditions. For example, coronavirus and sleep apnea may cause low blood oxygen saturation.

The SpO2 monitor is already in some big-name wearables: Fitbit and Garmin already have an SpO2 sensor on most of their devices, and Huawei has jumped in too. UMIDIGI UFit is expected to also have a SpO2 sensor but it would be much more affordable, in line with UMIDIGI’s market strategy.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the device, but there are a few things we can speculate from the teaser image. Besides the SpO2 monitoring function, it apparently has a curved screen and 2.5D glass. And there’s a side button to control the watch. We won’t have to wait long to learn more about the smartwatch since it goes official on March 16.
