The second half of the year has kicked off. Several smartphone OEMs in China have started announcing new flagship phones powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Other Chinese brands are also expected to announce SD8+G1 flagship phones in the remaining days of this month. One major brand that has been silent is Vivo. While the company unveiled the Vivo Y77 5G last week, there is no word on any new flagship or high-end phones from the brand. New information (via) reveals that Vivo has at least two pipelines, which may go official in August in China. Unfortunately, none of these are flagship phones powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip.

Vivo V2220A 3C certified

A new Vivo phone with model number V2220A has bagged 3C certification in China. The 5G-ready device has been spotted with an 80W charger at 3C. The Vivo S15 Pro, Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro, Vivo X Note, and Vivo Y77 5G are some of the Vivo smartphones that carry support for 80W charging.

Hence, it appears that the V2202A will be an upper mid-range device from the brand. At present, there is no information on the final marketing name of this device. It seems that the device will surface on the TENAA certification site with all its major specs.

Vivo V2166BA TENAA certified

The Vivo Y33s 5G, which debuted earlier this year, has the Vivo V2166A model number. A new device with a V2166BA model number, which appears to be a Y33s 5G variant, has been approved by the TENAA authority of China. There is no information on its final moniker, but the TENAA certification has revealed its key specs and design.

The V2166BA will be a mid-range phone with a 6.58-inch LCD FHD+ display, an 8-megapixel front camera, and a 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera system. It will feature a 2.4GHz octa-core processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage, and a 4,910mAh battery. Earlier this month, it was approved by the 3C authority. Its 3C listing revealed that it may carry support for 33W fast charging.
