The company unwittingly listed the top 10 &#8220;unaffordable&#8221; mobile phones and a look at the list would leave you speechless. The most expensive of the lot cost as much as 2.47 million yuan (about $353,000)! That model is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/23/vertu-signature-cobra-limited-edition-priced-360k-along-delivery-via-helicopter/">Vertu Signature Cobra Limited Edition</a>. The phone was launched back in May 2017 and even came with an offer of delivery by Helicopter. We doubt if the device will ever get sold out since it is still listed over 2 years after. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones.pmg_.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-295551" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones.pmg_.png?x10805" alt="" width="609" height="466" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones.pmg_.png 609w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones.pmg_-300x230.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones.pmg_-80x60.png 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones.pmg_-549x420.png 549w" sizes="(max-width: 609px) 100vw, 609px" /></a></p>

<p>Vertu is known for its premium phone designs with gold or platinum accents as the case may be. So, it is no surprise that the second-most-expensive model on the list is also a Vertu model. Next on the line is the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/10/17/vertu-aster-p-luxury-smartphone-starts-at-%c2%a535800-5000/"> Vertu Aster P</a> which was launched in October 2018. The gold plated version is listed on JD.com for 221,800 yuan ($31K).<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-295552" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-2.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="485" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-2.jpg 485w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-2-146x300.jpg 146w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-2-204x420.jpg 204w" sizes="(max-width: 485px) 100vw, 485px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The third phone is <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-x">Huawei Mate X 5G</a> foldable smartphone which holds the record as the industry&#8217;s first 5G foldable display mobile phone. The Mate X has a recommended retail price of 16,999 yuan (~$2400)but Jingdong&#8217;s spot price for the device was 69999 yuan(~$10K). It is presently sold out.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-295566" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-3.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="562" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-3.jpg 562w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-3-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/expensive-phones-3-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px" /></a></p>
<p>The Vertuu Aster P made it again into the list with a price tag of 46800 yuan which should be for the Ink Black and White variants. Swiss watchmaker 8848 released the M5 luxury smartphone and it is ranked at number 5. The rest of the top 10 is made up of the Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche design, a light business phone priced at 15999 yuan (~$2286). It is followed by the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the world&#8217;s first mass-produced foldable phone with a price tag of 15,999 yuan (~$2286). A number 8 is the iPhone 11 Pro Max, priced at 12,699 yuan (~$1800). OPPO Find X Lamborghini model, which costs 9999 yuan ($1400) claims the ninth spot. Finally, the Royole Flexpai completes the top 10 with a 9,998 yuan price tag (~$1400).</p>

The brand now has new owners and their first phone is the Vertu Aster P which was unveiled in China this night, and like previous Vertu phones, it is pretty expensive.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-217485" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Vertu-Aster-P-Black.jpg?x10805" alt="Vertu Aster P" width="586" height="661" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Vertu-Aster-P-Black.jpg 586w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Vertu-Aster-P-Black-266x300.jpg 266w" sizes="(max-width: 586px) 100vw, 586px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Design</strong></h4>
<p>The Vertu Aster P like all other Vertu phones is handmade in England, Each phone is built by one craftsman and his signature is engraved on the phone. The Aster P has a grade-5 titanium frame and the display is covered in a single piece of 133-carat sapphire crystal glass. Titanium is twice as strong as steel but weighs much less and sapphire is next to diamond when it comes to hardness.</p>
<p>The back is covered in leather types (crocodile and lizard) and colors, and the ruby red concierge button associated with the brand is still there. The Aster P has dual SIM support (nano only) and both SIM compartments open like gull-wing doors. Under the “door” is the signature of the craftsman that made the particular unit you purchase.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-217483" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Vertu-Aster-P-Gull-wings-SIM-slot.jpg?x10805" alt="Vertu Aster P gull-wings SIM slot" width="648" height="480" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Vertu-Aster-P-Gull-wings-SIM-slot.jpg 648w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Vertu-Aster-P-Gull-wings-SIM-slot-300x222.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Vertu-Aster-P-Gull-wings-SIM-slot-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Vertu Aster P Specs</strong></h4>
<p>If you are familiar with Vertu phones, then the name “Aster” shouldn&#8217;t be strange. Back in 2014, Vertu launched the original Aster which had a Snapdragon 801 processor. The new Aster P is an upper mid-range phone as it has under its hood a Snapdragon 660 processor. There is 6GB of RAM, triple that of the original model; and 128GB of storage, double that of its predecessor.</p>
<p>The screen is a 4.9-inch AMOLED FHD panel. Above it sits a 20MP f/2.2 sensor and on the back is a 12MP camera. The Vertu Aster P runs Android 8.1 Oreo and packs a 3,200mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0. It has a USB-C port, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi with support for a wide range of LTE bands.</p>
<p>The ruby concierge button provides 24/7 access to a personal butler with British-level professionalism. Vertu will also provide owners access to exclusive invite-only events.</p>
<h4><strong>Aster P Price and Availability</strong></h4>
<p>The Aster P comes in Ink Black, White, and Dazzling Gold. The Ink Black and White variants are priced at ¥35,800 (~$5,167) while the Dazzling Gold is a whopping ¥98,000 (~$14,146)! It is already listed on <a href="https://item.jd.com/33518480875.html?jd_pop=f86abcac-dc5f-476d-b2c5-950dfb1f0299&amp;abt=3#none">JD.com</a> and can be pre-ordered ahead of its October 30 shipping date.</p>
<p>The Aster P also has a special Baroque version which is available in brighter colors such as gentleman Blue, Twilight Orange, and Caramel Brown. There is no info on the price of these variants and when they would go on sale.</p>
<p>Vertu will also let you customize the design of the phone by adding gemstones and designs of your choice.</p>
