In February this year, Xiaomi ecological chain company Viomi launched the Alpha 1C Robot Vacuum cleaner with a unique wet mopping and dry dust collection compartment. The company has now launched an upgraded model dubbed Viomi Alpha 2 Pro Robot Vacuum cleaner. The product is officially on sale on Viomi’s Tmall official flagship store. The device carried a price tag of 3499 yuan (~$537).

The Viomi Alpha 2 Pro utilizes an AI laser radar (LDS) system which can scan a large area. Apart from obstacle detection at the front, the laser radar can also detect obstacles at the sides of the vacuum cleaner. Thanks to this, it can achieve 180° real-time scanning and an observation distance of 8 meters. Moreover, the radar system is not affected by light conditions as it is also effective in the dark. The vacuum is said to be capable of recognizing 150 different kinds of obstacles.

Further, the Viomi Alpha 2 Pro adopts the AI-Dumping 3.0 automatic dust collection system. The system can realize the whole process of cleaning, dust collection, and dust disposal. The main unit, dust collecting seat, and dust bag are purified by triple precision filtration. The activated carbon used in the dust bag has up to 99.99% antibacterial property and effectively prevents bacteria from multiplying. It can also filter dust, allergens, bacteria, and other harmful substances layer by layer.

The Alpha 2 Pro also has a redesigned air duct layout different from those of other robot vacuums. The new design shortens the length of the air duct by nearly 60%. The vacuum also has a strong suction power of 30KPa that can achieve fast dust collection in 15 seconds at the fastest, and effectively improve the efficiency and effectiveness of dust collection.

Xiaomi’s ecological chain company Viomi has added a new product to its growing line of smart home gadgets. The product dubbed Viomi Countertop Dishwasher Sugar is presently up for crowdfunding on the Youpin platform for just 999 yuan (~$149).

Just like the name suggests, the dishwasher is shaped like a cube of sugar. That means it has a square shape with a dimension of 443x467x441mm. The device has a built-in water tank, which can be connected to a water source or you can manually add water to the tank. It can be flexibly adapted to a variety of scenarios without the need to modify waterways and cabinets. It meets the dishwashing needs of a family of three. It is also convenient to move and install.

Internally, the Viomi Countertop Dishwasher has a large compartment that can accommodate four sets of standard and six sets of daily tablewares at a time, effectively utilising the internal space. It features upper and lower double-layer spray arms. There are also 16 rinse ports and spray alternately rotate in six directions up and down, front and back, left and right without dead end. The 11000Pa water pressure ensures that the tableware is cleaned thoroughly.

The dishwasher achieves 75°C high-temperature washing can guarantee up to 99.99% sterilization rate as well as UV long-lasting antibacterial effect. It also supports PTC3.0 hot air drying, alternately blowing out cold and hot air, speeds up drying in order to keep the dishes dry after washing and reduce bacterial growth. There is also a built-in fan, for this purpose as well.

The Viomi 21Face 5Gᴵᵒᵀ large-screen refrigerator is the world’s first 5G IoT large-screen refrigerator with vibrato. It is equipped with the latest WiFi 6 chip module, which perfectly matches the high speed connectivity which 5G offers. The Wifi is capable of a maximum download rate of 1200M.

The smart refrigerator features a large volume of 520L and supports vector frequency conversion. It also works silently with an impressive noise level of 38dB.

The refrigerator packs an expansive smart interactive touch-sensitive screen. The screen can be used to watch videos, listen to songs or if the owner wants to read recipes. Quite interesting is the disclosure that the display can also be used as a hub to control all other connected house appliances. Its AI voice interaction system allows you to link other smart home appliances without hands, making the kitchen no longer monotonous.

Xiaomi-backed smart home products company Viomi had launched the Yunmi S2 internet water purifier with 400G flux last year. Today, the company has announced an upgrade for the same, which comes in the form of Yunmi S2 600G.

The newly launched Yunmi S2 600G internet cloud-meter water purifier. As the name indicates, this upgraded model comes with 600G large flux instead of 400G flux, promising almost zero wait-time for the water to be discharged.

The company also says that it can fill a full glass of water within eight seconds, which is an upgrade over 10 seconds in its predecessor. Further, the company has changed faucet from the ordinary one to the small blue-light faucet which can provide changing reminder in time, without the need of an app to track it.

The original model, launched last tear, integrated the traditional 4-level filter into two, offering the effect of the same 4-level filtration — PP filter element, front carbon rod filter element, rear carbon rod filter element and RO reverse osmosis filter element.

Yunmi S2 600G upgrades the filtration to the 4+1 method, which is claimed to have reached the RO-5 level filtration and the quality of the water has reached the standard of packaged drinking water.

It is also quite easy to replace as the user needs to just twist and pull it out gently for replacing the filter. The filter is claimed to effectively purify harmful substances such as bacteria, heavy metals and antibiotics from the water.

The company says that it has redesigned the waterways and has upgraded the system for water efficiency and thus, the net water production ratio is now 66 percent. Based on this, Viomi says that a family of three can save 1460L of water per year, which is equivalent to 2,920 water bottles.

Viomi offered 11.4 million American Depositary Shares which allowed them to gather $103 million. Since the morning, Viomi started trading at the $9.50 which is significantly 5.56 percent more than the IPO price. Later, it rose to 9.66 and hit $10.95, then after fluctuation, it ended up below the IPO price at $8.97 per IPO.

It allowed the company to raise $103 million valuing the company at $811.8 million. There are many expectations from recent IPO at Nasdaq said Xiaoping Chan, co-founder, and CEO of Vomi. He further added, “By listing on the Nasdaq, Viomi hopes to better focus on the development of home appliance technology and further expand brand awareness, as Nasdaq is known as a tech-heavy stock exchange.” 

In May 2014, Viomi was founded with the help of Xiaomi. It deals purely in the IoT (Internet of Things) devices for home users. Its brochure packs various IoT-enabled home appliances, products, and commercial machines for businesses. Xiaomi has invested at the right time and in the right market as there will be high demand for IoT devices in the future. IPO will help Viomi to raise additional funds for the development of the company.

Ltd, one of Xiaomi’s ecological chain company. The company has a long chain of Xiaomi-branded products to its credit such as Xiaomi Water Purifier, MIJIA Thermoelectric Kettle and others. Apart from that, Viomi also has a host of other products that are not Xiaomi branded but of exceptional quality. Like the Smart water Heater which was launched a couple of months back. The Smart Gas Water Heater is the latest addition and as the name implies, the gadget gets its energy supply from gas.

The Viomi Smart Gas Water Heater 1A has a main chamber with a gas burner which converts the chemical energy provided by the gas to heat and there are built-in energy-saving features. The gadget has a water intake pipe which is connected to the home’s water supply. There is also a hot water outlet as well as a gas intake valve in the middle. All three outlets are located on the bottom aspect. Cold water flows into the water heater when a hot water tap is opened inside your home. The water flow is detected by a sensor that ignites the gas burner, to heat the water in the heat exchanger. The water typically follows a serpentine pattern through the heat exchanger, absorbing as much heat as possible. The gas valve automatically adjusts to the rate of water flow in order to conserve energy.

In addition, the water heater can be mounted on the wall but needs a space of 600mm from the floor and ceiling. It is also required that a space of 250mm be left on both sides. Xiaomi may be known as a smartphone manufacturer but it also makes lots of other products such as home appliances that are released in partnership with brands under its ecosystem. Among these appliances are refrigerators. So far it has two already – the Mini J Retro Mini Refrigerator and the VIOMI Smart Refrigerator but a new report says it has another two in development and it appears these refrigerators will have the Xiaomi branding.

An exclusive report by Winfuture.de has revealed that Xiaomi has two refrigerators that it is co-developing with VIOMI. Evidence of the existence of the two refrigerators was seen on the Bluetooth SIG website.

The two devices are said to be a two-door and three-door “no-frost” refrigerators referred to as the “Xiaomi Mi Bottom Refrigerator” and “Mi 3-Door Refrigerator” respectively. Their capacities are also listed as 272 and 301 liters.

Both are much smaller than VIOMI’s own smart refrigerator which has a 450L capacity. We also can’t tell at the moment what the screen size will be for each of them. VIOMI’s own for example has a 21-inch touch-screen display. The refrigerators are also said to support Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth 5.0 and also 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band for connectivity.

Since both refrigerators have gotten their Bluetooth certification, there is a possibility Xiaomi may announce them soon. However, they will definitely launch in its home country first and may even be exclusive to China.

According to records made available, Xiaomi has so far invested in 77 ecological chain companies, of which 30 released products during this period. This is aside Xiaomi’s core products like smartphones, MIUI software and others which form the core of the company. It was revealed that expected revenue from the Xiaomi smart products exceeded 15 billion Yuan in 2016.

A recent document revealed 28 of the companies which are under the Mijia partnership as well as their products and even the date of entry. The list contains names of tech companies based in Beijing and other Chinese cities, some formed as far back as 2013 while others are new entrants coming in last year, such as Viomi with its Filter Kettle L1 released last year. Huami is one brand that had a successful run under the Mijia platform, releasing the Mi Band and Band 2 before the company went solo with its own Amazfit brand. The Mijia products range from smart home gadgets like the robot vacuum cleaner, rice cooker to smartphone accessories and even non-connected products like the Mi Pen launched last year and many others. Even some of the products listed are yet to be launched.

As Xiaomi drives towards achieving its lofty goal of 100 billion yuan in revenue this year, the Mijia sub-brand holds the ace and this year could see a lot more products launching under the platform. Already, we have had a couple of smart product since the start of the year and it promises to be an exciting year with the rate of outflow of new gadgets thus far.

Xiaomi’s latest Crowdfunding product turned out to be a Super Filter kettle and not the steam iron earlier thought. The new product was released today and is dubbed – Viomi super filter kettle L1 (UV germicidal Edition) starts at just 249 Yuan ($38). The water filter kettle is manufactured by Viomi, with Xiomi’s crowdfunding platform acting as sales channel.

The main selling point of the Viomi super filter kettle is the Ultra-violet (UV) disinfection which it is capable of, and the seven heavy multi-effect filters it comes with. The kettle measures  265 x 145.5 x 262 mm and has a water capacity of 1.5 litres. The kettle provides intelligent filters made of different materials imported from Germany and Korea which meets food grade hygiene standards.

The kettle isn’t an electric kettle but a water purifier using a network of filters and then ultra-violet light to purify the water. Boiling water is known to kill some bacteria but cannot kill all the germs as well as reduce the scale of impurities but the Viomi filter kettle provides filteration and UV sterilization. The kettle’s technology i reputed as having the capability of reducing water impurities more than chlorine and also to remove the smell, kill bacteria and purify the water.

The kettle uses low-power consuming UV lamp and there is a built-in phone-level high capacity lithium battery which can be recharged using a mobile phone, phone charger, and car charger via the filter kettle’s microUSB port. A full charge can be used for sterilization up to 40 times.

The filters can last six weeks and the Purolite sodium-ion-exchange resins inhibits the growth of bacteria inside the filter. In addition, the kettle has a 360 degree water inlet design which ensures all the water goes through the filter and a large double water flow designed in such a way that you just have to wait for just three (3) minutes for the water to be purified. Some nice gadget worth having, don’t you think so?

The Viomi super filter kettle L1 (UV germicidal Edition) is already available on Xiaomi’s crowdfunding website at 249 Yuan ($38). The gadget is expected to start shipping on October 4.
