The tech giant later unveiled a 2019 edition and is expected to do the same this year. The unofficial renders of the Vivo APEX 2020 Concept Phone have been shared by tipster Ben Geskin. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-304710" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo APEX 2020" width="2000" height="2000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020.jpg 2000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020-420x420.jpg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/vivo-apex-2020-1920x1920.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2000px) 100vw, 2000px" /></a></p>

<p>The renders suggest the Vivo APEX 2020 will continue with a bezel-less design and apparently a super-high screen-to-body ratio. The device will utilise the in-display fingerprint sensor and would have a curved-edge display design. The APEX 2018 and APEX 2019 utilised a pop-up camera design but this year&#8217;s model will likely ditch that and may have an under-screen selfie camera.</p>
<p>The design of the back of the phone is also very interesting. A circular Oreo-shaped main camera with a rectangular optical zoom lens. Ben Geskin says the APEX 2020 will come with 5-7.5X Optical Zoom and 48MP Gimbal Camera. The rear camera is housed in a circular module which holds just the Optical zoom sensor and a 48MP camera, Interestingly, there is no ultrawide angle camera and LED flash onboard. The device will also feature 5G connectivity. The body won’t have any opening and will still utilise a wireless fast charging method and virtual buttons.</p>
<p>Despite how interesting this concept renders look, Vivo will still not mass-produce the model. Instead, we expect some of the feature to be onboard the Vivo NEX 20</p>

The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/25/meizu-zero-indiegogo-crowdfunding-campaign-begins-on-january-30-in-china/">crowdfunding exercise on Indiegogo</a> proved us wrong with the phone getting a disappointing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/03/04/meizu-zero-holeless-phone-crowdfunding-flops-with-only-29-backers-raising-just-45998/">29 backers who raised a paltry $45,998</a>. At the same time, Vivo also announced the holeless <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/24/vivo-apex-2019-hands-on-pictures-take-us-into-the-future-check-em-out/">Vivo APEX 2019</a>.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Meizu-Zero.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-233538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Meizu-Zero.png?x10805" alt="Meizu Zero" width="622" height="408" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Meizu-Zero.png 622w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Meizu-Zero-300x197.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Meizu-Zero-540x355.png 540w" sizes="(max-width: 622px) 100vw, 622px" /></a></p>
<p>While enthusiasm isn&#8217;t too high on the prospect of the design style, some phone enthusiasts in China have been asking questions as to when the design style will become commercial. China Mobile has perhaps received several questions as to the when hole-less phones will meet with consumers. China Mobile Terminal Lab gave several reasons from the technical perspective, why hole-less phones are ready to hit the market sooner than later.</p>
<ul>
<li style="list-style-type: none">
<ul>
<li>Buttons: Most phone already makes use of virtual buttons and even on some curved screen phones, the volume buttons are almost completely invisible on some curved screen phones. Since phones utilise touchscreens, a transformation to entirely virtual button design is now more realistic.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/01/first-samples-from-the-100mp-mi-mix-alpha-is-here-we-are-not-impressed">First Samples from the 108MP Mi Mix Alpha is here &amp; we are not impressed!</a></strong></h6>
<ul>
<li>Four holes for sound: Smartphones rely heavily on four major openings for sound input and output &#8211; 3.5mm audio jack opening, noise reduction hole, earpiece and speaker. The emergence of Bluetooth headset has taken care of the need for a 3.5mm audio jack opening on phones and most new models don&#8217;t have one even though some audiophiles prefer the good old audio jack. The other three openings are still frequent residents of mobile phones but in recent times, bone conduction technology and under-screen sound technology and others in the works have brought the prospects of eliminating these openings.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-233687" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo APEX 2019" width="690" height="460" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-3.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-3-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></li>
<li>Card slot: Virtual cards such as eSIM are now in use. Even though they are yet to be deployed very well in smartphones, they are fitting replacement for the physical SIM slot opening</li>
</ul>
<p>China Mobile notes that charging distance is still the only thing yet to be overcome. It noted that even though there is wireless fast charging technology, there is still no solution to increasing the charging distance such that you don&#8217;t need to put the phone in contact with the charging pad or cradle to charge it. Some find the inability to use their mobile phones while charging inconveniencing. We expect Over-the-air wireless charging that can deliver small amounts of power at a distance from inches to 3 feet to become available in smartphones soon.</p>

<p>Ahead of the launch, the renders of the APEX 2019 has appeared online. Before now, Vivo is yet to officially disclose any detail of the APEX 2019. However, the device has only been promoted using the codename &#8220;The Water drop&#8221;. Vivo recently shared a video on its official Weibo page which shows the Vivo APEX 2019 being felt by passersby. In the video, many of the responses described the gadget as pebble, soap and so on. That gives us an idea that the device will be a sleek one with a glass body. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-233183" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo APEX 2019" width="690" height="690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/vivo-apex-2019-2-270x270.jpg 270w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>

<p>The renders show the Vivo APEX 2019 will continue with a bezel-less design and apparently a super high screen to body ratio. The device will utilise the in-display fingerprint sensor and would still not have a selfie camera at the front. What we don&#8217;t know is if Vivo will retain the pop-up camera design or would shift to the slider design which seems to be gaining ground. The rear design is still unclear as the renders only show the front design. It is reported, though, that the APEX 2019 body does not have any openings, and even the charging opening does not exist. The device is reported to adopt the wireless fast charging method. Another fascinating thing about the display is the curved edge screen and well-chamfered edges which the device features. We can&#8217;t say if the renders are accurate but there&#8217;s no doubt the Vivo APEX 2019 is sure going to be a device to look forward to. After a bunch of leaks revealing more than one variant of the upcoming phone and after the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/01/vivo-nex-name-and-june-12-launch-date-officially-confirmed/">official launch confirmation was given by the company through a teaser image</a>, three variants of the handset have just been spotted. The variants have just appeared on a 3C listing. In case you do not know, 3C is a Chinese agency that verifies the eligibility of products for the consumers market. The three versions are dubbed as Vivo NEX, NEX A and NEX S.</p>
<p>We already heard about the NEX S variant which has recently appeared on Geekbench, but we never heard about the NEX A until now. 3C did not reveal any of the main specs of the smartphone. From the listing, we can just acknowledge that they support 5V / 2A, 9V / 2A and 10V /2.25A charging profiles. According to speculations, the NEX A may be a China-exclusive variant of the upcoming device, while the other two variants will hit markets outside of China as well.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-194405" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/nex.jpg?x10805" alt="vivo nex" width="728" height="297" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/nex.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/nex-300x122.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p>Vivo NEX will sport a borderless design with a screen-to-body ratio near to 100 percent. In order to achieve this, the company has decided to implement a &#8220;periscope&#8221; selfie camera which can be extracted in a fraction of second from the top side of the device. According to reports, the top-end variant will offer an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC by Qualcomm, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, and it is expected to be launched with a listing price of more than $1000. But there will be also a more affordable variant with the new Snapdragon 710, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It is rumored to cost less than $800. Vivo will launch the NEX and its variants on June 12.</p>

In the previous week, it was revealed that the retail launch of the phone will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/22/vivo-apex-launch-june-12-shenzhen/">start in Shanghai on June 12</a>. It is now speculated that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/24/vivo-full-screen-smartphone-named-vivo-nex/">the Vivo APEX concept phone</a> could be arriving with a commercial name of Vivo NEX. However, there is still no official confirmation on whether the Vivo APEX and NEX are separate or same smartphones. A leaked photo that has surfaced on Weibo reveals that the Vivo X21 will be arriving in two CPU editions. It can be known through the image that the starting variant will be fueled by the all new Snapdragon 710 chipset. If this information is true, the Vivo NEX will become the first phone to feature the Snapdragon 710. The highest configuration model of the Vivo NEX has Snapdragon 845 onboard. The leaked image has also revealed the pricing of both variants.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-193531" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-pricing.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo NEX pricing" width="600" height="738" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-pricing.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-pricing-244x300.jpg 244w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The above image is a said to be a snapshot of an offline pre-sale of the Vivo NEX phone. It reveals that the Snapdragon 845 edition has a price tag of 6,998 Yuan (~$1,090) and the one that features Snapdragon 710 SoC is priced at 4,998 Yuan (~$778).</p>
<p>It is speculated that the premium model having Snapdragon 845 chipset will be coming with pop-up selfie snapper. This variant may also feature 8 GB of RAM and a native storage of 256 GB. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/24/snapdragon-710-10nm-soc-to-bring-ai-and-flagship-features-to-less-expensive-phones/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Snapdragon 710 chipset</a> model may feature a selfie camera at the bottom right corner of the lower bezel like the Xiaomi Mi MIX. But that may not be the only big change coming to the device. A new leak has revealed that we may be getting two variants with a key difference between them.</p>
<p>The Vivo APEX/NEX that was shown at the MWC and in teasers and adverts has its front camera hidden in the top frame of the phone. When an app needs the camera, it slides out automatically.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-193259" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-without-slide-out-camera.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo NEX without slide-out camera" width="600" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-without-slide-out-camera.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-without-slide-out-camera-225x300.jpg 225w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>If you are worried about the durability of having a moving part in your next phone, then you may want to settle for the variant that has the front camera buried in the chin of the device just like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s/">Mi MIX 2s</a>.</p>
<p>Yes, it appears that will be the second variant of the Vivo APEX judging from the photos (above and below) that surfaced on the web today. There is no bezel at the top just like the original APEX but the lower bezel is slightly thicker to accommodate the sensor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-193258" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-without-slide-out-camera-b.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo NEX without slide-out camera" width="1080" height="1920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-without-slide-out-camera-b.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-without-slide-out-camera-b-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-without-slide-out-camera-b-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Vivo-NEX-without-slide-out-camera-b-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>

Now, it seems that the company has decided to rebrand the smartphone and thus, the Vivo Apex could launch as Vivo Nex.</p>
<p>A front panel of the Vivo Nex smartphone has surfaced online, revealing a device with a bezel-less display. However, there&#8217;s a small dot at the bottom-right side, probably for a front-facing camera or some other sensor. This could be the production version of Apex.</p>
<p>The China-based company had registered the Vivo NEX trademark for the smartphone last year. However, while most of the development points to Vivo Apex being launched as Vivo Nex, there is no confirmation from the company yet.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-192891 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-nex-front-panel.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo Nex Front Panel" width="1006" height="1280" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-nex-front-panel.jpg 1006w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-nex-front-panel-236x300.jpg 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-nex-front-panel-768x977.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-nex-front-panel-805x1024.jpg 805w" sizes="(max-width: 1006px) 100vw, 1006px" /></p>
<p>Earlier this year, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo/">Vivo</a> unveiled its Vivo Apex concept phone in China which offers an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent, under-display fingerprint scanner, and a pop-up selfie camera.</p>
<p>The Vivo Nex comes with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm/">Qualcomm</a>&#8216;s flagship Snapdragon 845 processor which is based on advanced 10nm LPP process technology. It has the Kryo 385 architecture and eight-core CPU, which has a clock speed of up to 2.8GHz and is coupled with the Adreno 630 GPU.</p>
<p>The smartphone is expected to pack 8GB RAM and run company&#8217;s own FunTouch OS 4.0 based on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-oreo/">Android 8.1 Oreo</a> operating system out of the box. Recently, the company had revealed that the Apex will go into mass-production at some point during mid-2018.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-192429 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo Apex" width="936" height="527" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-2.jpg 936w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-2-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></p>
<p>Recently, the device was spotted being used by a passenger on a subway, revealing that the phone will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is placed on the top side. We already know that the phone features a 5.99-inch OLED display with COF technology. Further, the ambient and proximity sensors are embedded under the display.</p>
<p>Interestingly, the half part of the display is integrated with an in-screen fingerprint reader, unlike the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x20-plus-ud/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vivo X20 Plus UD</a> which has only one spot on the bottom portion of the screen. On the top edge of the display, there’s a hidden selfie camera that can be elevated when required. The front-facing camera takes only 0.8 seconds to pop-up, according to the company.</p>
<p>However, based on the leaked images, it seems that the company has made minor changes in the phone&#8217;s design. For instance, the corners of the handset now have rounded edges compared to the square edges on the prototype model. So, we are expecting a few minor changes in the phone&#8217;s design compared to the one showcased during Mobile World Congress (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mwc/">MWC</a>).</p>

<p>The Vivo Apex smartphone is scheduled to launch at an event in Shanghai, China on 12th June. We&#8217;ll know what the company has decided to name the phone as well as it&#8217;s pricing and availability details.</p>

Now, it seems that the company is all set to launch the smartphone.</p>
<p>Vivo has revealed that it is holding a launch event in Shanghai, China on 12th June where it will launch the Vivo <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/05/vivo-apex-officially-launched-snapdragon-845-mass-production-begins-later-year/">Apex</a> smartphone. However, it is not yet clear if the phone will be launched as Apex or will get a new name.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-192428 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-save-the-date.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo Apex Launch Event Invite" width="800" height="283" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-save-the-date.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-save-the-date-300x106.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-save-the-date-768x272.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>The smartphone features a 5.99-inch OLED display with COF technology. To provide the full-screen experience, the Chinese manufacturer has embedded the ambient and proximity sensors under the display.</p>
<p>Further, the display also doubles up as earpiece and loudspeaker and are placed beneath it. Interestingly, the half part of the display is integrated with an in-screen fingerprint reader, unlike the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x20-plus-ud/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vivo X20 Plus UD</a> which has only one spot on the bottom portion of the screen.</p>
<p>On the top edge of the display, there&#8217;s a hidden selfie camera that can be elevated when required. The front-facing camera takes only 0.8 seconds to pop-up, according to the company. The camera on the smartphone supports Super HDR that has a limited dynamic range of up to 14 EV.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-192429 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo Apex" width="936" height="527" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-2.jpg 936w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-apex-2-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></p>
<p>The smartphone is powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm/">Qualcomm</a>&#8216;s flagship <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/06/qualcomm-snapdragon-845-mobile-platform-officially-unveiled/">Snapdragon 845</a> processor, which powers most of the flagship smartphones launched this year so far. Apart from that, nothing else is known about the phone&#8217;s specifications. However, we are expecting the device to come with top-of-the-line specs. It&#8217;s known that the phone will come with USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.</p>
<p>Recently, Vivo <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/22/vivo-showcases-the-truly-full-screen-vivo-apex-in-its-fifa-2018-wc-advert/">shared a commercial</a> that the company is planning to air during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The advertisement shows a smartphone that is very similar to the Apex concept that was showcased at Mobile World Congress.</p>
<p>A couple of months ago, the China-based company had revealed that the Apex will go into mass-production at some point during mid-2018. Notably, Vivo was originally marketing the Apex as just a concept smartphone, but the company later confirmed that it will be sold to the general public.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Currently, no more information is available related to the smartphone. We&#8217;ll have to wait a few more weeks to know what are the specifications of the Vivo Apex, how much it&#8217;ll cost and when it will be available for purchase.</p>

<p>The Vivo APEX first appeared as a concept device at this year&#8217;s edition of MWC in Barcelona only to be officially announced later in China. Although you can&#8217;t purchase one yet until later this year when it goes on sale.</p>
<p>The APEX is a unique device as it has a screen-to-body-ratio of over 90%. Its 5.99-inch OLED screen doesn&#8217;t have a notch like Vivo&#8217;s recent releases. Instead, it buries the sensors under the display and hides the front camera in the metal frame. Open the camera app and the sensor slides out in style.</p>

</iframe></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>It also has a fingerprint scanner embedded under the screen. While this may not be new as other Vivo phones have it, the one on the APEX is unique as it covers a much larger area of the screen.</p>

<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/vivo">Vivo</a> took the industry by storm two months back when it launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/05/vivo-apex-officially-launched-snapdragon-845-mass-production-begins-later-year/">Vivo APEX</a> with a scintillating new design spearheaded by an almost bezel-less display. The APEX features a 91% screen ratio which is quite large. The device isn&#8217;t available yet and mass production may have just commenced. However, a new bezel-less model was spotted on Slashleaks recently and even though the device looks similar to the Apex, there are some differences which mark it as different from it. Well, so we think.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-bezel-less.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-191632" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-bezel-less-1024x768.jpg?x10805" alt="vivo" width="640" height="480" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-bezel-less-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-bezel-less-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-bezel-less-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-bezel-less-160x120.jpg 160w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/vivo-bezel-less.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p>The leaked  Vivo device seems to have a similar screen design as well as the retractable selfie camera as the Apex. But the phone has well-chamfered / curved edges that are more rounded than that of the Apex. Apart from this, there isn&#8217;t any other difference in the design.</p>

<p>While we could take a wild shot at this being a new Vivo bezel-less phone, it is possible that this is the Vivo APEX with an adjusted design. Since what got unveiled was prototypes of the device, it is possible that the final design may be slightly different. We can&#8217;t be so too sure about that but we&#8217;ll be on the lookout for further details.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-176980" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Vivo-APEX-hands-on-7.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo APEX hands-on " width="600" height="449" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Vivo-APEX-hands-on-7.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Vivo-APEX-hands-on-7-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Vivo-APEX-hands-on-7-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The Vivo APEX has a 5.99-inch OLED display with COF technology.  In order to deliver full screen experience, the Chinese manufacturer has embedded the ambient and proximity sensors under the display. The screen doubles up as earpiece and loudspeaker as both are placed beneath it. Unlike the under-display fingerprint sensor on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x20-plus-ud/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vivo X20 Plus UD</a> that is available only at one spot on the bottom portion of the screen, the half part of the display of the Vivo APEX is integrated with in-screen fingerprint reader. This technology is dubbed by the company as Half-Screen Fingerprint Scanning Technology.  It carries support for multi-fingerprint recognition.</p>

<p>The thickness of the left and right bezels is only 1.8mm whereas the bottom bezel is of 4.3mm. The handset sports a slim profile of only 7.8mm. On the top edge is the hidden selfie camera that can be elevated when required. It takes only 0.8 seconds for the front camera to pop-up from the top. The Snapdragon 845 chipset is present under the hood of the Vivo APEX.</p>
<p>With System in Package (SIP) technology, the Vivo APEX offers Hi-Fi audio experience. It is also equipped with three amplifiers and DAC. The camera of the phone supports Super HDR that has a limited dynamic range of up to 14 EV. It is based on the principles of multi-frame compositing and smart optimization, along with ultra-dynamic, multi-frame preferences, character optimizations, natural tones, and advanced AI Algorithm.</p>

Through today’s unveil event, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed two main things. The first is that the APEX phone will include the highly potent SD845 chipset and the other thing is that it will begin its mass production by middle of this year. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the pricing of the Vivo APEX.</p>

<p>So, let&#8217;s take a look at the top launches from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mwc-2018/">MWC 2018</a>.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>DAY ZERO:</h2>
<p>Sunday was an exceptionally busy day for tech enthusiasts given that three major manufacturers had lined up announcements one after the other. And yes, there was the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lg/">LG</a> announcement too, launching the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-v30s-thinq-2/">LG V30S ThinQ</a> model, but to be honest, that wasn&#8217;t the highlight of the day.</p>
<p>The following were the top products announced on Sunday.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/">Huawei</a> kicked off MWC 2018 with its amazing Matebook X Pro. There&#8217;s no doubt that the new laptop is inspired by the bezel-less design of the Dell XPS 13 but the company has taken things to another level. The company has integrated the web camera as a pop up component on the keyboard, ensuring you are away from prying eyes when the camera is not in use. Not only that, the Matebook X Pro features a 3:2 aspect ratio that enables more pixels on the screen with a resolution of 3000 x 2000. Coming from a company that entered the laptop market just a couple of years ago, the Matebook X Pro is definitely a product worthy of your attention.</p>

<p><strong>NOKIA 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 PLUS, &amp; NOKIA 8110</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nokia/">Nokia</a> managed to impress us with its strategy last year, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/25/nokia-reportedly-shipped-16-million-phones-q3-2017-feature-phones/">slowing gaining ground</a> in the ever competitive smartphone market. The company used the event on Sunday to unveil a number of new smartphones for the global market. First of all, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/25/nokia-6-2018-5-5-inch-display-snapdragon-630-soc-launched-mwc/">Nokia 6 2018 model</a> is finally coming to markets outside of China. It&#8217;s a great phone (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/18/nokia-6-2018-hands-refreshing-upgrade-solid-design/">our hands on here</a>!) in the budget segment.</p>
<figure id="attachment_175512" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-175512" style="width: 375px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-175512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8-Sirocco.png?x10805" alt="Nokia 8 Sirocco" width="375" height="439" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8-Sirocco.png 684w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8-Sirocco-257x300.png 257w" sizes="(max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-175512" class="wp-caption-text">Nokia 8 Sirocco</figcaption></figure>
<p>New announcements of the day included the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/25/nokia-8-sirocco-powerful-android-one-launched/">Nokia 8 Sirocco edition with upgraded features and specs</a>. Basically, the Sirocco is what the Nokia 8 should have been and with Snapdragon 835 inside, the phone could have been a great option back in 2017. But it might be a little too late to the party in 2018, especially with its costly price tag.</p>
<figure id="attachment_175518" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-175518" style="width: 348px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/nokia-7-plus-5.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-175518 " src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/nokia-7-plus-5.png?x10805" alt="Nokia 7 Plus" width="348" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/nokia-7-plus-5.png 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/nokia-7-plus-5-300x258.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 348px) 100vw, 348px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-175518" class="wp-caption-text">Nokia 7 Plus</figcaption></figure>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nokia-7-plus/">Nokia 7 Plus</a> is actually the most interesting smartphone of the lot. The phone features the powerful Snapdragon 660 chipset with dual cameras and 2X optical zoom. It&#8217;s being marketed as a premium mid-ranger and also adopts the current trend of 18:9 aspect ratio for its display, which is something that the Nokia 6 2018 model skipped. For less than $400, the phone offers pretty amazing value. Read <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/25/nokia-7-plus-launched-sporting-sd660-soc-android-oreo-dual-cameras/">more about the model here!</a> Note that there&#8217;s a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/26/nokia-7-plus-china-edition-unveiled-pure-android-6gb-ram-version-cheaper-price/">Nokia 7 Plus China edition too, which is cheaper by the way</a>.</p>
<figure id="attachment_175913" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-175913" style="width: 353px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8110-4G_2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-175913" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8110-4G_2.jpg?x10805" alt="Nokia 8110 4G_2" width="353" height="353" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8110-4G_2.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8110-4G_2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8110-4G_2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Nokia-8110-4G_2-270x270.jpg 270w" sizes="(max-width: 353px) 100vw, 353px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-175913" class="wp-caption-text">Nokia 8110</figcaption></figure>
<p>The new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nokia-8110-4g/">Nokia 8110</a> Slider refreshes the iconic banana phone. With a banana yellow shade, the company is definitely trying to bring back the trend to current market. However, apart from the looks, the phone has nothing extraordinary. So, we wonder who will end up buying this one, despite its iconic design. <p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s9-exynos/">Samsung Galaxy S9</a> and<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s9-plus-exynos-rumored/"> S9+</a> unveil were the two most powerful launches on Sunday. The South Korean giant has retained what was good about the S8 and made some minor yet necessary upgrades in the new S9 &amp; S9+ models. Powered by SD845 (in US and China) and Exynos 9810 in other markets, the phone is the most powerful flagship from <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/">Samsung</a> till date. The camera gets a super slo-mo bump at 960 fps at 720p among other upgrades. The S9 keeps a single camera module, while the S9+ gets the expected dual camera upgrade.</p>

<h2>DAY ONE:</h2>
<p>The first official day of the MWC 2018 saw Sony &amp; Vivo grab all the attention.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Vivo Apex</strong></p>
<figure id="attachment_175642" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-175642" style="width: 460px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear-1.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-175642" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear-1.png?x10805" alt="Vivo Apex" width="460" height="309" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear-1.png 946w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear-1-300x202.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear-1-768x517.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-175642" class="wp-caption-text">Vivo Apex</figcaption></figure>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo/">Vivo</a> surprised us all by revealing the Vivo Apex Concept smartphone on Monday. It is definitely one of the most interesting smartphone concepts that we have seen lately. The phone features a nearly 98% screen to body ratio, which is insane for a smartphone. The company reportedly made this possible by integrating the microchips directly into the flexible circuit board. Further, the phone features a unique pop up periscope front camera, which enabled the company to limit the front bezel to a bare minimum. Further, there are other high-end tech for its speakers and ear piece.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Sony Xperia XZ2 &amp; XZ2 Compact</strong></p>
<figure id="attachment_175690" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-175690" style="width: 475px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xperia-XZ2-Compact-All-colors.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-175690" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xperia-XZ2-Compact-All-colors.png?x10805" alt="Xperia XZ2 Compact" width="475" height="260" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xperia-XZ2-Compact-All-colors.png 1400w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xperia-XZ2-Compact-All-colors-300x164.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xperia-XZ2-Compact-All-colors-768x420.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xperia-XZ2-Compact-All-colors-1024x560.png 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-175690" class="wp-caption-text">Xperia XZ2 Compact</figcaption></figure>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sony/">Sony&#8217;s</a> smartphone department wasn&#8217;t doing so well in the past few years. Some of its phones have been promising, but as an overall package, the Japanese giant often failed to impress. However, with the XZ2 series, the company is hoping to change some things. First of all, it has ditched the omnibalance design and now, the new models feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display along with a revamped &#8216;ambient flow&#8217; design. The XZ2 flagship features wireless charging as well.</p>
<p>Overall, if priced correctly the Sony Xperia XZ2 series could be a game changer for the company. You can read <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/26/sony-shaves-off-bezels-xperia-xz2-xperia-xz2-compact/">all about these two models from here</a>.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Helio P60</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/helio-P60.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-175668" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/helio-P60.jpg?x10805" alt="Helio P60" width="495" height="259" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/helio-P60.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/helio-P60-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/helio-P60-768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/helio-P60-1024x536.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek/">Mediatek</a> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/11/15/mediatek-exec-reveals-company-taking-break-high-end-mobile-chips/">has given up on its flagship X series chipsets</a> but that doesn&#8217;t mean that the company is out of the smartphone market. MTK unveiled the brand new Helio P60 chipset on Monday at MWC 2018, featuring promising specs that can take on the SD660 chip. The company plans to compete in the premium mid-range segment with its new chipset and comes with the new NeuroPilot AI processing tech along with Mali-G73 MP3 GPU to ensure it can handle the premium features of a flagship grade smartphone.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>DAY TWO:</h2>
<p>The second day at MWC 2018 saw Nubia and ASUS revealing its top phones for the year.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>NUBIA&#8217;s First Gaming Phone</strong></p>
<figure id="attachment_175981" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-175981" style="width: 554px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/s_3ed91acacb2b43179701f6613a26af01.png.jpeg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-175981" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/s_3ed91acacb2b43179701f6613a26af01.png.jpeg?x10805" alt="nubia gaming phone concept" width="554" height="314" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/s_3ed91acacb2b43179701f6613a26af01.png.jpeg 554w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/s_3ed91acacb2b43179701f6613a26af01.png-300x170.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 554px) 100vw, 554px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-175981" class="wp-caption-text">nubia gaming phone concept</figcaption></figure>
<p>Smartphone manufacturers seem to be interested in the concept of gaming phones and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nubia/">Nubia</a> is the first Chinese smartphone company to reveal details about its new Gaming phone. Inspired by a super car design, Nubia&#8217;s gaming flagship concept features several cuts and creases at the back with the camera module arranged vertically. The design retains its symmetry and Nubia seems to have done a fine job in making this smartphone design.</p>
<p>The phone is confirmed to launch in China sometime in the coming months, so it&#8217;s not just another concept that may never see the light of the day. You can read more <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/27/nubias-gaming-phone-concept-brings-super-car-like-design-smartphone/">about the company&#8217;s gaming concept here</a>.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>ASUS Zenfone 5Z and Zenfone 5</strong></p>
<figure id="attachment_176100" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-176100" style="width: 732px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/ASUS-Zenfone-5Z-featured.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-176100" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/ASUS-Zenfone-5Z-featured.jpg?x10805" alt="ASUS Zenfone 5Z" width="732" height="490" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/ASUS-Zenfone-5Z-featured.jpg 732w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/ASUS-Zenfone-5Z-featured-300x201.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 732px) 100vw, 732px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-176100" class="wp-caption-text">ASUS Zenfone 5Z</figcaption></figure>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/asus/">ASUS</a> unveiled its big guns yesterday, announcing the Zenfone 5 and the Zenfone 5Z models. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/asus-zenfone-5z-2018/">Zenfone 5Z</a> is the pick of the lot featuring SD845, 6GB RAM, a 6.2-inch FHD+ display with 90% screen to body ratio &#8212; in under $500! But the Zenfone 5 is also a great smartphone, differing from the 5Z model in the processor department (SD636) and memory (4GB RAM).</p>
<p>ASUS isn&#8217;t ashamed to accept that the two phones are <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-x/">iPhone X</a> inspired, but it does add that their notch is smaller.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-175643 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo_Apex.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo APEX" width="1280" height="642" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo_Apex.jpg 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo_Apex-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo_Apex-768x385.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo_Apex-1024x514.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></p>
<p>No one had heard of the Vivo APEX until yesterday. The Chinese manufacturer first released a teaser video on Facebook and Weibo before showcasing it at MWC. Now report says the Vivo APEX will launch next week Monday,5th of March.</p>
<p>Vivo has gotten a lot of international coverage this year. First it unveiled the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x20-plus-ud/">Vivo X20 Plus UD</a> world&#8217;s first smartphone with an in-display fingerprint scanner at CES. Now it plans to launch the APEX, a phone with nearly over 90% screen-to-body ratio and an in-display fingerprint scanner with a larger surface area.</p>

The video does not reveal any information on the specifications of the APEX phone but reveals its stunning design and some of its key features. It seems to be the very same mysterious Vivo phone that had appeared with nearly 100 percent screen-to-body ratio. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/06/vivos-mysterious-phone-spotted-near-100-screen-body-lacks-selfie-camera-seems-house-flip-rear-camera/">GizmoChina was first to speculate</a> that it may arrive with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/08/vivos-mysterious-phone-probably-featuring-flip-camera-screen-fingerprint-sensor-appears/">flip-up camera</a>. The Vivo APEX concept phone was also demonstrated at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018.</p>

<h3>Elevating Front Camera</h3>
<p>Vivo APEX concept has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It remains inside the chassis of the phone and can be elevated when is required to be used. It takes only 0.8 seconds for the so-called Elevating Front Camera to pop-up like a periscope. When not in use, it goes back into the shell. Well, it seems to be a great way to avoid notch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-175635" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Camera.png?x10805" alt="Vivo Apex Concept Phone Camera" width="1280" height="638" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Camera.png 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Camera-300x150.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Camera-768x383.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Camera-1024x510.png 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></p>
<h3>Bezel-less Display with Very High Screen-to-Body Ratio</h3>
<p>The Vivo APEX has super-slim bezels around the display. To be precise, the top bezel is of 1.8 mm only, which will be slimmest ever for a smartphone. The thickness of its bottom bezel is of 4.3mm. This indicates that the 18:9 aspect ratio display may offer a screen-to-body ratio of nearly 98 percent. The Vivo APEX concept phone has a flexible OLED platform. Since its microchips directly on the flexible circuit board, it is able to sport a bezel-less design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-175645" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Font.png?x10805" alt="" width="928" height="688" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Font.png 928w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Font-300x222.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Font-768x569.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Font-160x120.png 160w" sizes="(max-width: 928px) 100vw, 928px" /></p>
<h3>Half Screen Fingerprint Scanner</h3>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x20-plus-ud/">X20 Plus UD</a> by Vivo is the world’s first smartphone to feature under-display fingerprint scanner. It has the fingerprint sensor located at one spot at bottom portion of the display. The APEX concept phone features an even better under-display fingerprint scanner technology as it spans across the bottom-half of the display. Vivo has dubbed this technology as Half- Screen In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-175638" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Half-Screen-Fingerpritn-Sensing-Technology.png?x10805" alt="Vivo Apex Concept Phone Half Screen Fingerprint Sensing Technology" width="1016" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Half-Screen-Fingerpritn-Sensing-Technology.png 1016w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Half-Screen-Fingerpritn-Sensing-Technology-300x199.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Half-Screen-Fingerpritn-Sensing-Technology-768x510.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1016px) 100vw, 1016px" /></p>
<h3>Screen Sound Casting Technology</h3>
<p>The new Screen Sound Casting Technology available on the Vivo APEX allows its display to function like a speaker and an earpiece. It vibrates the display to produce sound like a speaker. Compared to regular audio methods, this new technology consumes less power. With System in Package (SIP) technology onboard, the handset will be able to better Hi-Fi audio experience. Vivo has integrated three amplifiers and DAC under the hood of the concept phone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-175641" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Sound-Casting-Technology-1.png?x10805" alt="Vivo Apex Concept Sound Casting Technology" width="1121" height="667" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Sound-Casting-Technology-1.png 1121w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Sound-Casting-Technology-1-300x179.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Sound-Casting-Technology-1-768x457.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Sound-Casting-Technology-1-1024x609.png 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1121px) 100vw, 1121px" /></p>
<h3>Other Features</h3>
<p>The space taken by the circuit board has been reduced by nearly 60 percent on the Vivo APEX. This has allowed the company to add a larger battery inside the concept phone. It is also equipped with some sort of cooling technology that prevents overheating.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-175639" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear.png?x10805" alt="Vivo Apex Concept Phone Rear" width="946" height="637" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear.png 946w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear-300x202.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Vivo-Apex-Concept-Phone-Rear-768x517.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 946px) 100vw, 946px" /></p>
