The device is expected to arrive as the first smartphone that will bring support for over 100W fast charging speed and before it hits the market, the phone will have to go through several tests by regulators.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-2.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-336042" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-2.png?x44794" alt="iQOO 5" width="721" height="404" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-2.png 721w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-2-300x168.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-2-696x390.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px" /></a></p>
<p>The iQOO 5 has just scaled one of such tests and that is the one by TUV Rheinland. The company has shared a promo video of the next-gen iQOO flagship undergoing several physical tests by TUV Rheinland.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-3.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-336098" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-3.png?x44794" alt="" width="600" height="254" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-3.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-3-300x127.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The test shows us how the battery performs and the state of the phone when it is subjected to such extreme charging speed. The company says the phone will “normal temperatures” in a test environment of room temperature of about 25 degrees. Also, the adapter plug is capable of withstanding up to 10,000 plug-ins and plug-outs of a cable.</p>
<div style="width: 640px;" class="wp-video"><video class="wp-video-shortcode" id="video-336032-2" width="640" height="360" preload="metadata" controls="controls"><source type="video/mp4" src="https://fdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/20/08/vivo-iqoo-5-more-details/gsmarena_001.mp4?_=2" /><a href="https://fdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/20/08/vivo-iqoo-5-more-details/gsmarena_001.mp4">https://fdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/20/08/vivo-iqoo-5-more-details/gsmarena_001.mp4</a></video></div>
<p>Furthermore, the battery is capable of taking up to 600 charge and discharge cycles and the battery life will remain “normal”. Vivo even claims that the battery will stay “as strong as ever”. The device also has some battery protection features while the new 6C cells onboard are said to be of the highest standard. TUV Rheinland, therefore, certified the voltage and current as safe.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-336033" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="400" height="574" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-1.jpg 400w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-1-209x300.jpg 209w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/iQOO-5-1-293x420.jpg 293w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></a></p>
<p>The video also reveals the device will pack a triple camera setup at the rear while at the front will be a curved display which Vivo says will be an AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The DCI-P3 color gamut will be 100% which is more than the industry standard.</p>
<p>The iQOO 5 5G is also expected to pack a Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with an LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage.</p>

<p>The Chinese phone giant revealed at its Innovation Day event today that its first 5G smartphone will arrive in Q3 2019. This 5G phone will launch as the iQOO 5G, said Vivo. The phone will have a Snapdragon 855 processor and a Snapdragon X50 modem.</p>
<p>But the 5G phone isn&#8217;t the only thing Vivo has been working on. The phone maker wants to diversify its portfolio and it is starting with its first AR Glasses.</p>

<p>It has been reported that Vivo will unveil the AR Glasses when MWC Shanghai begins tomorrow. Vivo also said that its Jovi assistant currently has over 150 million users and 5G will bring a Jovi 2.0 that is fully interactive and connected.</p>
<p>Vivo says it will also set up a door-to-door 5G experience so users can try out the new technology for themselves. The company also says it has plans to make smartwatches and smart headphones in the future but didn&#8217;t reveal more details.</p>
