With only a few days remaining for the launch, the device has appeared in the product library of China Telecom, revealing all the key details.

Vivo S50 specifications

As per the China Telecom listing, the Vivo S50 will feature a 6.59-inch OLED display that offers a 1.5K resolution of 2750 × 1260 pixels. It is also likely to support a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will come with an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The rear panel of the Vivo S50 is equipped with a triple camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera featuring the Sony IMX882 sensor. On the front, the device will offer a 50-megapixel selfie camera.

With the launch drawing near, one of the alleged S50 series phones has surfaced in the database of China’s 3C certification platform, giving a hint about its fast-charging capabilities.

Vivo S50 series phone’s 3C listing

As can be seen above, an upcoming Vivo smartphone with model number V2582A has been approved by China’s 3C authority. The listing reveals that the device may ship with a 90W fast charger but has no other information about its other specs.

Rumours suggest that the V2528A could be the standard Vivo S50. On the other hand, the V2572A, which was recently spotted at the country’s radio certification platform, could be the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. The Vivo S50 series is expected to rival the likes of the Oppo Reno 15 series and the Honor 500 lineup, which are also expected to launch later this month.

The above screenshots show that two new Vivo phones with model numbers V2527A and V2528A have appeared in SRRC’s database. According to a Chinese tech blogger, these could be associated with the S50 series. Unfortunately, the listings do not reveal any significant information about their specifications.

The Vivo S50 is expected to feature a 6.59-inch flat OLED screen that offers a 1.5K resolution. According to DCS, the Vivo S50 series will have two models with different-sized displays. The leak reveals that the standard model will have a 6.59-inch flat display offering a 1.5K resolution, paired with a metal middle frame and a periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto unit reportedly features a medium-sized sensor of flagship-grade quality, indicating a notable upgrade in zoom photography.

On the other hand, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini will be a compact offering equipped with a 6.31-inch flat display with support for 1.5K resolution. Being a Pro model, it will have top-tier camera hardware. It appears both phones will be equipped with a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

When asked about what chipset powers the Vivo S50 series, the tipster seemingly suggested a flagship chip capable of achieving a 3M AnTuTu score for the Pro variant. As per a previous leak, this device could be equipped with the Dimensity 9400, which powered the Vivo X200 series last year.

The said leak also suggested that the Vivo S50 Pro Mini could be equipped with a triple-camera setup featuring a periscope camera. For security, it could be equipped with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The leak reveals that an upcoming S50-series phone will feature a 6.3-inch flat display with a new aspect ratio, a Dimensity 9400 series chipset, and a triple camera unit featuring a periscope telephoto camera. The engineering prototype is said to include an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The tipster has not specified the final moniker of the device. However, considering the display size, it appears to be a successor to the Vivo S30 Pro Mini. However, it remains to be seen whether it will be dubbed the Vivo S50 Pro Mini or just Vivo S50.

The reason behind this is that last year Vivo unveiled the Vivo X200 Pro Mini with a compact design featuring a 6.3-inch screen.
