<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to the update schedule shared by vivo, a total of 33 </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo/"><span style="font-weight: 400">vivo</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> and </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iQOO/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iQOO</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">-branded smartphones will be updated to OriginOS in China. This roadmap only tells about when these devices will be getting beta builds and therefore, the actual stable rollout for all the eligible phones may complete later than the suggested Q2 2021 time period.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">That said, out of 33, 11 devices are scheduled to enter the beta program before January 31, 2020. Hence, as promised, vivo has now <a href="http://weibo.com/7506173780/Jwq9Vd6AK">opened registrations</a> for the first five handsets and they are as follows.</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x50/"><span style="font-weight: 400">vivo X50</span></a></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-s7-5g/"><span style="font-weight: 400">vivo S7</span></a></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-nex-3s-5g/"><span style="font-weight: 400">vivo NEX 3S</span></a></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-iqoo/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iQOO</span></a></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-iqoo-neo-3-5g/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iQOO Neo3</span></a></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The beta recruitment for the above-mentioned phones will take place from December 1 to 10. However, though the company is providing 10 days time to register, only 200 seats are allocated for each smartphone. Lastly, the beta rollout will commence from December 15 (tentative date).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">So that means the stable release for regular users may only happen in January 2021 at the earliest. And above all, this program is only limited to China and vivo is yet to officially announce </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/originos/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OriginOS</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> for global markets along with eligible devices and update plans.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Master Lu is a popular benchmarking platform in China. Like AnTuTu, it also releases monthly lists of best smartphones. <h5><strong>Vivo S7 Design</strong></h5>
<p>The Vivo S7 (V2020A) is a mix between the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-v9/">Vivo V9</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x50-pro/">Vivo X50 Pro</a> albeit with a few adjustments. For example, the notch is not as wide on the Vivo S7 and its rear cameras are housed in a larger rectangle. The phone is also pretty light as 170 grams, is 7.39mm thick, and comes in Moonlight White, Jazz Black, and a gradient colorway that takes its name from the French painter, Claude Monet.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h5><strong>Vivo S7 Specifications</strong></h5>
<p>The phone has a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a 2400 × 1080 resolution, a 91.2% screen-to-body ratio, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. There is no high refresh rate but it has HDR and the screen has a fingerprint scanner underneath it.</p>
<p>Powering the Vivo S7 is the Snapdragon 765G along with 8GB of RAM. Buyers will be able to choose between having 128GB or 256GB of US 2.1 storage.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK:</strong></span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/08/the-mid-range-oneplus-nord-was-inevitable-and-heres-why/"><b>The mid-range OnePlus Nord was inevitable and Here’s Why!</b></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Coming to the cameras, Vivo has put dual-selfie sensors in front. There is a 44MP f/2.0 AF sensor paired with an 8MP f/2.28 ultrawide angle camera. The front cameras can record in 4K at 60fps, has a Super Night selfie mode, double-exposure, and also has image stabilization. You can also take slow-motion selfies at 240fps.</p>
<p>The rear camera includes a 64MP f/1.89 sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera (yeah, that last bit is disappointing). The rear camera comes with Super Night Scene 4.0 with the ability to shoot in RAW format. Vivo has added a feature that allows you to shoot using the rear and front cameras at the same time. There is also a vlog feature and a video editing mode that the manufacturer claims is easier than editing photos.</p>
<p>The Vivo S7 has dual SIM support (nano-only), Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, and face unlock. It packs a 4400mAH battery with support for 33W fast charging and ships with Android 10 out of the box.</p>

A new teaser was recently shared by the company and revealed a 44 megapixel dual selfie camera, while a new leak showcased its thin and light design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-334812 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1755056.jpg?x44794" alt="Vivo" width="600" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1755056.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/1755056-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>According to an official promotional image poster, the Vivo S7 will feature a 44 megapixel dual sensor on the front. This lens will aim at bringing higher and brighter shots from the selfie camera, which also supports auto focus as well. This image poster also revealed the smartphone&#8217;s design from afar, although no specifics were given out.</p>

<p>However, a <a href="https://weibo.com/5609829195/JdJNR9SeF?from=page_1005055609829195_profile&amp;wvr=6&amp;mod=weibotime" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Weibo user</a> (a popular Chinese microblogging website) recently shared live images of the Vivo S7. Looking at these images, it can be observed that the device features a thin and light design, with a triple camera setup on the rear and a dual camera module on the front. The rear camera has a bump, while the front has a notch on the top for the sensors.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-334811 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/0067EgQ3gy1gha3pvlcslj32bc3344qr.jpg?x44794" alt="Vivo" width="382" height="509" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/0067EgQ3gy1gha3pvlcslj32bc3344qr.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/0067EgQ3gy1gha3pvlcslj32bc3344qr-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/0067EgQ3gy1gha3pvlcslj32bc3344qr-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 382px) 100vw, 382px" /></p>
<p>Notably, the Weibo user also drew similarities that the Vivo S7 shared with the Huawei Mate 30 from the front. With both devices looking nearly identical. Although, they probably won&#8217;t share any similar specifications on the insides. Unfortunately, finer details or specifications weren&#8217;t leaked online, so we will have to wait for the August 3rd launch date, so stay tuned.</p>

A Chinese tipster had recently revealed the key specs of the device. Today, the same tipster <a href="https://weibo.com/5609829195/JcZYzcSD7?from=page_1005055609829195_profile&amp;wvr=6&amp;mod=weibotime">shared</a> two leaked images to reveal the design of the smartphone.</p>

<p>The above-shown video released by Vivo confirms the Aug. 3 launch date for the Vivo S7 5G. It also reveals that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/20/vivo-s7-marketing-materials-lightweight-selfie-flagship/">smartphone has an ultra-thin design.</a> The front and rear design of the phone is not shown in the video. However, a tipster has revealed some vital information about its appearance.</p>

<p>The leaked images shown below show that the Vivo S7 5G will have a wide notch like older phones like the Vivo X21. The rectangle-shaped camera setup placed on the backside of the device looks similar to Vivo X30’s rear camera unit. The handset can be seen sporting an attractive gradient color on its back.</p>

A recent leak revealed that it will be equipped with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/21/upcoming-vivo-s7-5g-with-largest-and-thinnest-front-camera-module-could-be-the-best-selfie-smartphone/">thinnest front camera modul</a>e and it will have the largest aperture compared to other selfie-centric phones. <p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-333190" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-5G-specs-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="Vivo S7 5G specs leak" width="651" height="296" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-5G-specs-leak.jpg 651w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-5G-specs-leak-300x136.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 651px) 100vw, 651px" /></p>
<h3><strong>Vivo S7 5G specifications (Unconfirmed)</strong></h3>
<p>According to the tipster, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo-s7">Vivo S7</a> 5G will be featuring the same display that is available on the OPPO Reno4. The latter flaunts an AMOLED display of 6.43 inches. The screen is embedded with a fingerprint sensor and it has a pill-shaped cutout for two selfie cameras at the top-left corner. Hence, the Vivo S7 5G is expected to come with two front-facing cameras and an in-screen fingerprint reader. Many of the mid-range 5G phones weigh around 200 grams, but the Vivo S7 5G will weigh only 170 grams.</p>
<p>The Vivo S7 5G’s dual selfie camera setup will be led by a 44-megapixel Samsung GH1 lens. It will be assisted by a superwide 8-megapixel Hi846 lens from Hynix. The back panel of the phone will feature a triple camera system featuring the Samsung GW1 64-mgeapixel lens as the primary shooter. It will be coupled with an 8-megapixel Hynix Hi846 superwide lens and a 13-megapixel portrait lens from Samsung.</p>

<p>The other details of the Vivo S7 5G are under wraps. The Vivo S6 5G came with a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Hence, it is likely the successor edition will also house a big battery with fast charging capabilities. There is a possibility that Vivo V2020A 5G phone that was recently certified by 3C authority of China along with a 33W fast charger could be the upcoming Vivo S7 5G phone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-333189" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-V2020A-3C-certified.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="1224" height="149" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-V2020A-3C-certified.jpg 1224w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-V2020A-3C-certified-300x37.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-V2020A-3C-certified-768x93.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-V2020A-3C-certified-1024x125.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-V2020A-3C-certified-696x85.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-V2020A-3C-certified-1068x130.jpg 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1224px) 100vw, 1224px" /></p>
<p>The tipster has speculated that the Vivo S7 5G will land in China in two variants such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. He also guessed that the former could be priced at 2,998 Yuan (~$430) and the latter may cost 3,298 Yuan (~$473).</p>

Today, a leak has confirmed that the upcoming model will launch as the Vivo S7. The leak is an image of promotional materials for the phone, and they reveal a few details about the upcoming device.</p>
<p>The source of the leak is a Weibo user and one of the things we can see in the image is that the Vivo S7 will have support for <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/5G">5G</a> but the chipset that will power it is currently unknown. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-s6-5g/">Vivo S6</a> launched with an <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/exynos-980">Exynos 980</a> processor. We do not know if <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/vivo">Vivo</a> will use an <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/exynos">Exynos</a> processor again or pick one up from <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm</a> or <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek">MediaTek</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-332902 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-promo-materials-b.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="578" height="314" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-promo-materials-b.jpg 578w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-promo-materials-b-300x163.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 578px) 100vw, 578px" /></p>
<p>The image also shows a billboard that says the phone will be a “lightweight selfie flagship”. We can deduce that the selfie camera and the weight of the phone will be its selling points.</p>
<p>In the image, we can also see a cardboard cutout of the brand ambassador for the phone which is Chinese Actor, Liu Haoran. He is actually holding the phone but we can&#8217;t see what it looks like, no thanks to the cardboard box blocking the view. However, we can see the phone will be available in blue.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-332903 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-promo-materials.jpg?x44794" alt="Vivo S7 promo materials" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-promo-materials.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-promo-materials-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-promo-materials-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The Vivo S6 has a waterdrop notch while the back is home to quad rear cameras in a cookie-shaped housing. Seeing as one of the Vivo S7&#8217;s selling points will be its selfie camera, we presume the phone will have a punch-hole display, probably one that is large enough to house two cameras.</p>
<p>We expect more details will surface in the weeks leading up to the phone&#8217;s launch.</p>

The phone is not only the first in the series with 5G support but is also one of the few <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/vivo">Vivo</a> phones powered by an Exynos processor. New info says Vivo will announce a new S-series phone next month.</p>
<p>The source of the info is the Chinese leaker <em>Digital Chat Station</em>. According to him, the Vivo S series will “be updated probably next month”. Based on his statement, we expect the new phone should launch as the Vivo S7.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-331684 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7.png?x44794" alt="Vivo S7" width="572" height="152" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7.png 572w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Vivo-S7-300x80.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 572px) 100vw, 572px" /></p>
<p>Last month, it was reported that the manufacturer will launch a new phone that may arrive as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/12/vivo-s6-pro-5g-specifications-and-pricing-emerge-may-launch-soon/">Vivo S6 Pro 5G</a>. This phone is yet to launch and we do not know if it is the same device <em>Digital Chat Station</em> said will launch next month.</p>
<p>While we are still in the dark regarding the specifications of this new phone expected to launch next month, we are pretty sure it will have support for 5G.</p>
<p>At the moment, Vivo has its focus on the global launch of the Vivo X50 series. The phones are scheduled to launch in India on July 16. It has also been reported that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/11/vivo-tws-neo-earbuds-to-debut-with-vivo-x50-series-in-india-claims-report/">Vivo TWS Neo</a> will also be announced on that day too.</p>
