A mysterious Vivo smartphone with a mammoth battery has appeared on the Internet. As reported by WHYLAB, the smartphone carries the model number V2188A. The phone is expected to be some mid-range device due for launch this year.

The Vivo V2188A has passed the National Quality Certification and the 3C certification. We learn that the smartphone sports a 6.58-inch display. The phone has the following measurements – 163.87 x 75.33 x 9.21mm.

It is a dual-SIM handset with 5G connectivity. The smartphone packs a big 5,880mAh battery and supports 44W fast charging technology. The device boots on the Android 12 operating system and has Bluetooth, GPS support.

The tipster touts that this phone could be a mid-range handset from the brand. As of now, there’s no other detail about the phone nor has the company teased any forthcoming mid-ranger with such a big battery. But since the phone has passed two of the major certifications in China, we expect the device to launch soon.

Currently, Vivo is occupied with the Vivo X80 and X Fold phones. This time around, the Vivo X80 will have the X80, X80 Pro, and X80 Pro+. The phones are expected to bring ZEISS branded cameras, up to QHD+ screens, and 80W wired, 50W wireless fast charging support. The details of the Vivo X Fold are scarce, but it is expected to come with a 6.53-inch FHD+ foldable screen. Just like the X80, the X Fold will also get an 80W fast charging technology.

Amid Vivo X80 rumors, we have a new Vivo phone in the news. A device with model number V2196A has passed the 3C certification in China. The certification reveals the charging details of this upcoming device.

The 3C listing was first reported by the tipster WHYLAB, it shows that a mysterious Vivo phone is due for launch. The device has a 20V and 4A charging speed, which translates to 80W charging support. It is a 5G phone and is expected to release soon.

As per the tipster, the previous standard – 66W fast charging appears to go to the lower-end Vivo models as the 80 fast-charging technology becomes more standard for the higher-end models.

In the upcoming months, we have phone launches for the Vivo X80, Vivo X Fold, Vivo X Note, and the sub-brands iQOO Neo6. All of these models will support the 80W fast charging technology.

In related news, the much-awaited Vivo X80 Pro was recently tipped to come with the Sony IMX8-series sensor. The device is reported to have the V1 ISP and Dimensity 9000 SoC, under the hood. Its been quite a while since we have heard about a new flagship from Vivo. Rivals like OPPO, Huawei, LeTV have all announced multiple flagships this year, but we are yet to see a new product from the company that can compete with today’s high end smartphones. Although Vivo is has not yet revealed anything officially about its new flagship, most probably the Vivo XPlay 5S, earlier today a new set of images along with possible specifications of the device were leaked online.

According to this leak, the Vivo XPlay 5S will feature very high-end specifications. It is said that the phone will come with an all metal body with a display like the Galaxy S6 Edge, curved on both the sides. The back is also a bit curved which should help in the ergonomics since its going to be a big flagship. The display size is expected to be 6-inches with a massive resolution of 4K, competing with the likes of the Xperia Z5.

Other specs are also expected to be high-end. Under the hood, the phone should come with Snapdragon 820 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There should be a 21MP camera at the back, along with a fingerprint sensor right below it. You can see the sensor below the camera unit in the renders above. Up front, you can expect a 12MP camera. The XPlay 5S is rumored to feature a large 4000mAh battery to power these high-end specs.

Along with these images, another set of alleged images of the XPlay 5S were leaked recently showing off a slightly different design. This particular phone had an all metal body with laser autofocus, color temperature flash and fingerprint ID at the back. Unfortunately, this leak doesn’t say anything about the specifications of the device.

We can’t really confirm which one is the real deal until Vivo comes out and announces the device. However, as of now, the company has not announced any plans for the same. So looks like we will have to wait for some more time until we can get official information about this beast.

Vivo’s photography-inclined flagship series Xshot’s first model is about to be officially released after various leaks. Today, the official Vivo smartphone Weibo page has announced that the company will be officially releasing the Xshot on May 7. Companies that launch a smartphone with the Vivo brand was rumored its preparing a new product which uses Nikon's EXPEED image processor chip. In the presence of the processor chip, the latest smartphone that Vivo was going to come with high photographic capabilities.

Speculation reveals that the processor used is EXPEED 3 ARM used in 2011 on the Nikon 1 Mirrorless Camera Series. Along with the processor chip, the latest smartphone Vivo wear 20MP camera that features a nice f/2.0 aperture is used for low-light conditions.
