Design

Despite the Vivo V15 and the Vivo V15 Pro having modern and original designs, they are not built with premium materials. They are made of polycarbonate, with a plastic back and a plastic frame. But the Vivo V15 features the Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the display which makes it resistant. The best element in the design of these devices is the pop-up camera: thanks to a motorized mechanism, these devices have borderless displays without a notch or holes. The displays are full-screen with no interruptions and they also come with two very high screen to body ratios (more than 85 percent). The screen to body ratios of these phones are even higher than a lot of today’s mid-range phones.

Display

The Vivo V15 is equipped with an IPS display sporting a diagonal of 6.53 inches and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, as well as a standard refresh rate and the Gorilla Glass 5 protection by Corning. The Vivo V15 Pro has a smaller display with a diagonal of 6.39 inches, but the image quality is higher because it is a Super AMOLED panel with more brilliant colors and deeper blacks. Further, the Pro variant comes with an in-display fingerprint reader, while the fingerprint scanner of the vanilla version is rear-mounted like some of today’s entry-level phones. As already said above, the displays do not have a notch nor holes thanks to the pop-up camera, and, despite pop-up cameras are not a trend anymore, the full-screen experience is still a requested element. Indeed, several smartphone manufacturers are looking to provide a full-screen experience once again with under-display cameras.

Hardware/Software

The hardware department of the Vivo V15 is still superior to the ones of the current entry-level phones. The processor is the Helio G70 and it is paired with 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage. The Vivo V15 Pro can still be considered a midrange thanks to a Snapdragon 675 chipset, up to 8 GB of RAM, and up to 128 GB of internal storage. With the Vivo V15 Pro, you get higher CPU and GPU performance. The phones ship with Android 9 Pie out of the box and this is the biggest con because their software support period is ended. Further, they lack 5G connectivity, but there are still a lot of best-selling phones without 5G out there.

Camera

The Vivo V15 and the Vivo V15 Pro are equipped with the same amazing front camera: a 32 MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 focal aperture. This front camera is still at the level of the current front camera you can find on midrange phones, that is why these devices are still great selfie phones. With the Vivo V15 Pro, you always get a very good rear camera department with a 48 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 5 MP depth sensor. It is close to nowadays’ mid-rangers, while the Vivo V15 can be positioned in the middle between low-end and mid-range phones in terms of camera performance.

Battery

The battery capacity of the Vivo V15 is actually below-average with its 3700 mAh, while you can still find several midrange phones with a 4000 mAh battery like the Vivo V15 Pro. Both the handsets feature fast charging, but it is capped at 18W.

Vivo V15 vs Vivo V15 Pro: Price

The original starting prices of Vivo V15 and V15 Pro are about €310/$347 and €360/$404, respectively. But now they are a lot more affordable. At the end of the day, we can say that both these phones are superior to nowadays’ entry-level devices, and the Pro variant is still a great device to use today, even in the midrange segment. Do they still make sense? If prices are in line with their current rivals, they do.

Chinese handset maker vivo has been rolling out the Android 11 (Funtouch OS 11) update to the eligible devices in India since December 2020. With the days passing by, more vivo phones have started receiving this update in the country. The latest models to join this list are vivo S1 and vivo V15 Pro.

In early January, vivo shared Funtouch OS 11 (Android 11) update plan for India. According to the timeline, vivo V17, vivo V17 Pro, vivo V15 Pro, and vivo S1 are supposed to get the update in March. However, the firm only released the update for the vivo V17 and the vivo V17 Pro earlier this month.

But now, according to a report by PiunikaWeb , vivo has also started seeding the Android 11 update for vivo S1 and vivo V15 Pro before the end of March. Just like the other two smartphones, the update for this duo is also under greyscale testing.

In simpler words, the Funtouch OS 11 update for the vivo S1 and the vivo V15 Pro is only rolling out to a select few users across the country. If these early adopters don’t face any major issues, then this very same build will be seeded out to all users via OTA.

Unfortunately, we are unaware of the build number for the latest system update. But going by the previous vivo devices that have received Android 11, the update should weigh over 3GB in size.

The vivo VS1 and the vivo V15 Pro debuted with Android 9.0 based Funtouch OS 9 and were later updated to Funtouch OS 10 (Android 10). Therefore, Funtouch OS 11 (Android 11) should be the last major update for these smartphones, as per the company’s update track record.

A leaked promo page of the Vivo V17 Pro had surfaced in the previous week to reveal its design. The arrival of the smartphone is drawing near as newer reports have appeared to reveal more on its design and specs. A commercial highlight the camera prowess of the V17 Pro has surfaced along with some of its camera samples. Also, Winfuture.de’s new report has freshly leaked renders and information on the keys of the Vivo V17 Pro.

According to the publication, the V17 Pro is fitted with a 6.44-inch S-AMOLED with notch-less design. The screen of the smartphone is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The big display of the handset delivers 1080 x 2440 pixels and a tall aspect ratio of 21:9. The right edge of the smartphone features a volume rocker and a power button. The right side of the V17 Pro seems to feature a dedicated button for accessing Google Assistant.

The pop-up selfie camera module of the Vivo V17 Pro has dual lenses. It includes a 32-megapixel sensor with wide-angle shooting capabilities and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The rear side of the smartphone is fitted with a vertical quad camera. The primary lens is of 48-megapixel followed by an ultrawide sensor and a pair of 2-megapixel.

Another leak has revealed the camera samples of the V17 Pro. The above images show that the Chinese firm has collaborated with NatGeo Traveler India to showcase its camera capabilities. The V17 Pro commercial states that the AI Quad Cameras of the smartphone is coupled with Super Night Mode for shooting impressive shots in low-light conditions. The below shown poster of the phone carries ‘Wider Selfie, Clearer Night’ tagline for the smartphone.

Coming back to the specs of the Vivo V17 Pro, it is fueled by the Snapdragon 675 that has also powered Vivo V15 Pro earlier this year. It is assisted by 8 GB. The device has a built-in storage of 128 GB The smartphone houses a 4,100mAh unit. It will come loaded with Android 9 Pie OS. The device has a thickness of 9.8mm and it weighs 202 grams.

The Vivo V17 Pro is expected to go official in India in this month. Vivo has been working on its expansion in the European markets. Hence, the V17 Pro is also expected to release soon in Europe.

Earlier this year, in February 2019, China-based Vivo launched its premium mid-range smartphone Vivo V15 Pro. Just a month after it launched, the smartphone emerged as the fastest-selling V-series smartphone for the company.

Now, the Vivo V15 Pro has received a permanent price cut in the Indian market for both the variants — 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM. The company has slashed the phone’s pricing by ₹3,000 which roughly converts to $43.

The 6GB RAM model of the Vivo V15 Pro will now be available for ₹23,990 (~$346) instead of ₹26,990 (~$390) while the 8GB RAM model costs ₹26,990 (~$390) instead of its original pricing of ₹29,990 (~$433). The new pricing is now live on e-commerce stores likes Flipkart and Amazon as well as offline stores.

The development comes at a time when rumors are indicating that the company has stopped the production of both the V15 series smartphones — Vivo V15 and V15 Pro. It is being reported that the phones will eventually be discontinued and will only be available in offline stores until stock lasts. At the moment, the phones are still available to buy on the online Vivo Shop.

The reason for the discontinuation of the V15 series smartphones is said to be because of the upcoming Vivo S-series which includes the MediaTek Helio P65-powered Vivo S1. Vivo is also launching the iQOO sub-brand in India soon which may also be one of the reasons for the discontinuation. Also, the recently launched Vivo Z1 is cheaper and better than the Vivo V15 smartphones.

The Vivo V15 Pro features a 6.39-inch Ultra FullView Super AMOLED display that produces Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The phone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset and comes in two variants based on the memory configuration — 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB onboard storage.

Coming to the camera department, the device comes with a triple camera setup that includes a primary Samsung ISOCELL GM1 48-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a secondary 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a third 5-megapixel lens with f/2.4 aperture. On the front side, it comes with a pop-up selfie camera of 32-megapixel (Samsung ISOCELL GD1) with f/2.0 aperture.

The smartphone is running Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box with FunTouch OS 5.0 on top. It also comes with Game Mode 5.0 for optimizing the gaming performance as well as Jovi AI. The device is powered by a 3,700mAh battery with dual-engine fast charging support.

Vivo has reportedly discontinued the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro smartphones in India. Fresh information reveals that Vivo India is now working on Vivo V17 series and it may debut before Diwali festival season which will take place in the country in October. A smartphone called Vivo V17 Neo may belong to the Vivo V17 series since it has been found listed on Google Play Console.

Vivo V17

Citing information received from its sources, 91mobiles has reported that the Vivo V17 will one of the first smartphones in India to come with a pop-up selfie camera module with two selfie snappers inside it. Also, it could be equipped with four cameras on its rear. However, the source is not very confident about it. There is no information available on the specifications of the smartphone.

Since Diwali is a popular festival in India, smartphone manufacturers are known for announcing before it. Vivo India too seems to be gearing up to make the most of it by announcing the Vivo V17 ahead of the festival. It is speculated that the company may also an advanced Vivo V17 Pro handset alongside the Vivo V17.

A Google Play listing of a smartphone labelled as Vivo V17 with model number 1907N has been spotted. The moniker suggests that it may belong to the upcoming Vivo V17 series for India. The listing reveals that it is equipped with a waterdrop-style notch display that offers full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The MediaTek Helio P65 chipset (mentioned as MT6768 on listing) that was introduced on the Vivo S1 will be also powering the Vivo V17 Neo smartphone.

The Vivo V17 Neo boots to Android 9 Pie OS along with FunTouch OS UI. The SoC of the smartphone is coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The listing has no information on the battery capacity and camera configurations. As of this writing, there are no details available on the pricing of the Vivo V17 and V17 Neo smartphones.

The Vivo V15 Pro launched early this year, February to be precise. A month after it went on sale, it was crowned the fastest-selling V-series smartphone in India. It also got a non-Pro model a month after it launched.

A report has surfaced saying Vivo has stopped production of both phones. According to 91Mobiles, sources have informed them that Vivo has stopped manufacturing the two smartphones. The sources also added that the phones will eventually be discontinued and will only be available in offline stores until stock lasts. At the moment, the phones are still available to buy on the online Vivo Shop for slightly less than their launch prices.

The reason for the discontinuation is said to be because of the upcoming Vivo S series which includes the Helio P65-powered Vivo S1. Vivo is also launching the iQOO sub-brand in India soon which may also be one of the reasons for the discontinuation.

Another reason may be the recent launch of the Snapdragon 712-powered Vivo Z1. This is significantly cheaper and a better buy over the less-powerful Vivo V15. It is set to go on its first sale on July 26.

Left to us, we think the Vivo V15 Pro should remain in production but get a further price cut to prevent being closely priced to the upcoming iQOO phones and Vivo S1. We also think the Vivo V9 and V11 series should be the ones getting the boot. Both are currently still on sale on the Vivo online shop. The V9 Pro even has a price tag that is close to the more powerful Vivo Z1.

To be honest, we don’t understand what Vivo is doing with its pricing. There are too many models in the market that are closely priced with stark differences in specs and features.

Also, the Chinese firm will be announcing as many as three new phones in India in this month. It is yet to be ascertained whether the company will be releasing U or Y series smartphones in the country.

The Vivo V15 Pro features a Super AMOLED display of 6.39 inches. It is a notch-less display that supports full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2316 pixels. The smartphone is blessed with an elevating front camera of 32-megapixel. The rear side of the smartphone has a triple camera unit that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a depth sensor of 5-megapixel.

The Snapdragon 675 mobile platform fuels the Vivo V15 Pro smartphone. The device is backed by a 3,700mAh battery that supports dual-engine 18W fast charging through microUSB 2.0. The smartphone is also equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The FunTouch OS 9 based Android 9 Pie comes preloaded on the V15 Pro. Vivo has a new phone with a 32MP selfie cam on the way. The phone which has model numbers V1832A/V1832T was certified last week. The Vivo V1832A shares a bunch of its specs with the Vivo V15 Pro and might even be its Chinese version.

It has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a fingerprint scanner buried under it and is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor. If this is the Chinese version of the V15 Pro, then the SoC is the Snapdragon 675. There is 6GB/8GB of RAM but unlike the V15 Pro which comes with only 128GB of storage, this has a 256GB version too.

There are triple rear cameras – a 12MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 32MP sensor.

The Vivo V1832A will run Android 9 Pie out of the box. Its battery capacity is 3620mAh and it supports fast charging. The phone will be available in Gold. Its dimensions are given as 157.5 x 74.71 x 8.21 mm and it will weigh 185 grams. Unfortunately, there are no images for the listings.

Vivo‘s V series is fast becoming one of the company’s cash cow as a result of its growing popularity. That is mostly due to the impressive designs and affordable pricing which the models have. From the Vivo V1 to the premium V15 Pro that was released recently, the models are just spot on. Talking of the V15 Pro, the model has been crowned as the fastest-selling V series model in India where it was released only a month ago.

This is according to data released by market research firm GfK who also disclosed that the Chinese phone maker was the fastest-growing brand in India. Vivo’s growth is said to surpass the growth of the general market year over year. Between January 2018 and January 2019, Vivo shipped 60.9% more units and raked in a massive 63.2% revenue increase. This is pretty interesting due to the fact that GfK says the Indian market only grew 14.2% in shipments and 16.8% in revenue during the same period. Vivo’s performance in the final quarter of last year was also solid. Its Y-series phones secured the “under INR 20,000” market while the V-series tackled the segment above that.

Samsung Galaxy A50 vs Oppo F11 Pro vs Vivo V15 Pro

Design

Oddly, despite being upper-midrange devices, all these handsets come with a plastic body, and that is not the top of elegance. But Oppo F11 Pro and Vivo V15 Pro have an important added value: the pop-up camera which makes the design cleaner and the screen-to-body ratio very high without the need for a notch. I personally like the Vivo V15 Pro more because, besides having a pop-up camera and no notch, it even comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner which makes the rear side even cleaner. I even like more its gradient color variant.

Display

It is a hard fight between Samsung Galaxy A50 and Vivo V15 Pro, even though the Oppo F11 Pro has the advantage of boasting a bigger panel. Vivo V15 Pro comes with the Super AMOLED technology and 100 percent of DCI-P3 coverage, so it should offer a better color reproduction. Further, it does not have a notch, unlike the Samsung Galaxy A50.

Specs & Software

Vivo V15 Pro wins even when it comes to the hardware side. It has a definitely more powerful chipset: the new Snapdragon 675 that is also found on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. It is the best midrange SoC by Qualcomm alongside the Snapdragon 710 and it offers blazing speeds. Further, the Vivo V15 Pro is the only phone of this trio to come with up to 8 GB of RAM. And it also has a micro SD dedicated slot that allows using the dual SIM slot and the micro SD at the same time. The second place goes to Samsung Galaxy A50 and its Exynos 9610 built with a 10 nm production process. I would not go for the Oppo F11 Pro because it does not have a micro SD slot. All the handsets run a customized Android version, but I personally prefer Samsung’s one due to its smarter additional features, even though a lot of people think it is too heavy.

Camera

On the paper, the most impressive cameras belong to the Vivo V15 Pro. First of all, it comes with an amazing triple camera on the rear side, composed of a main 48 MP sensor, a secondary ultrawide sensor and a depth sensor, which can record video with 4K resolution. Further, it has a stunning 32 MP front camera for selfies which allows capturing very high definition photos. It is still a midrange setup, but it remains impressive. We give the second place to the camera department of the Samsung Galaxy A50 with a bright aperture for the main 25 MP sensor, a secondary ultrawide lens, and a depth sensor. The last place goes to the Oppo F11 Pro, but it does not mean that it is disappointing. It still has a great dual camera with a 48 MP main sensor just like the Vivo V15 Pro.

Battery

The battery life is a strong point of all of these handsets. Samsung Galaxy A50 and Oppo F11 Pro should be the longest lasting ones because they boast a big 4000 mAh battery. A couple of days back, Vivo released its new gaming flagship, the Vivo IQOO. However, the company seems to be busy preparing another smartphone for launch this month, the Vivo X27. The phone, expected to be the successor of the Vivo X23 model that was launched last year, hasn’t been in many leaks. However, Vivo had a sure way of getting our attention by showcasing the phone at a popular TV Game show in China.

The Vivo X27 was spotted in the TV show called Happy Camp in China yesterday. The show is extremely popular in China and has been airing since 1997. So seeing the phone in the hands of the show’s host was a definite way of teasing it before launch.

One of the highlights of the Vivo X27 is its pop up camera. The camera housing at the back is the same as the Vivo 15 Pro that was launched a few days ago in India. The tease also confirms Topaz Blue gradient color option in China.

A couple of days back, Vivo models, code named V1829T and V1829A were spotted on the TENAA certification. While images were not available, the specs of the models hinted that it was most likely going to be launched as the Vivo X27 in China. The phone came with an octa-core 2.2GHz processor (likely to be the Snapdragon 710) along with a triple camera setup (48MP+13MP+5MP). The front camera is a 16MP shooter. The battery is of 3920mAh, which is bigger than its predecessors. Expect an in display sensor on board, which has become a standard in this lineup.

Vivo is yet to reveal any official details about the X27. But considering how the phone has popped up on a popular TV show, an official launch is very near. According to an earlier leak, Vivo X27 is expected to be released around late March.

Through an unveil India, Vivo has announced the Vivo V15 Pro smartphone. It is the first smartphone ever to powered by the Snapdragon 675 mobile platform. There is AI Super Night mode on the V15 Pro allows it to capture clearer photos in dark.

The Snapdragon 675 chipset of the phone is coupled with 6 GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 128 GB. The dual-engine fast charging enabled 3,700mAh battery drives the smartphone. It is loaded with FunTouch OS 5.0 based Android 9 Pie OS. The phone also offers Game Mode 5.0 for optimized performance during gaming. Vivo has also included support for Jovi AI on the device.

It can be availed in two colors like Topaz Blue and Ruby Red. The smartphone will be available for purchase through the aforementioned retailer sites starting from March 6. Vivo India is offering launch offers include exchange offer, 5 percent cashback on HDFC Bank credit and debit cards with EMI option, one-time screen replacement for 6 months and no cost EMI.

Vivo India will be debuting the Vivo V15 and Vivo V15 Pro smartphones in India on Feb. 20. Some other Asian markets including Malaysia are also going to receive the Vivo V15 series soon. A Malaysian tech website has shared the hands-on images of the Vivo V15 Pro few days ahead of its Indian launch.

The Malaysian publication has not shared any details on the specifications of the Vivo V15 Pro, but the hands-on images shared by it reveals what to expect from its design. The front view of the Vivo V15 Pro resembles the Vivo NEX phone that has been reportedly discontinued in India. There is no notch on the screen which allows the V15 Pro to deliver “FullView” experience. The chin of the device is somewhat thicker than its other bezels. Like its predecessor, it comes equipped with in-display fingerprint reader. An earpiece is placed between the upper bezel and top edge of the device.

The blue color variant that appears lighter in the middle section and dark at the top-right and bottom-left corners is dubbed as Topaz Blue. There are fine lines placed under the glass rear that has a unique reflective appeal.

The AI driven triple camera setup is located at the top-left corner of the Vivo V15 Pro’s rear shell. The publication claims that there is a huge bump for the triple rear cameras. When viewed from front, the pop-up selfie camera can be seen on the top-right on the upper edge of the device which also features a 3.5mm audio jack.

According to the publication, it takes less than a second for the pop-up selfie camera to rise. The bottom edge of the device has a SIM / microSD card tray, a microUSB port and an external speaker. Undoubtedly, the V15 Pro is one of the most innovative upper mid-range phones in the recent times. However, its sad to see that the company has not included a USB-C port on the device.

The Vivo V15 Pro is one of the most talked about devices in the past few weeks. There is barely any news about the Vivo V15 – which is the non-pro model. Ahead of the launch on February 20, Vivo has released another video advert for the phone and this one features Bollywood star, Aamir Khan.

The 18-second video shows the actor who is also a Vivo brand ambassador bring out the phone from his pocket to take a picture. First, we get a good look at the AI triple camera setup on the rear. We also see the glass has a hatch finish. The lines do not seem to be on the outside like that of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, so this is purely for aesthetics rather than functionality.

We also get to see the Vivo V15 Pro’s camera app. There are a bunch of icons which includes one for the timer mode, color mode, HDR mode, portrait mode, and even an icon to switch the viewfinder to full-screen. Tap to switch the camera and the 32MP selfie camera pops-out on the top right corner of the phone.

The Vivo V15 Pro will come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 675 processor, and a 48MP + 8MP + 5MP triple camera setup. It will also have a fifth-generation in-display fingerprint scanner.

Vivo is set to announce a new smartphone in India on February 20, the same day Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S10 series and a couple of other devices. That smartphone has been revealed to be the Vivo V15 Pro and a number of its key specs have leaked.

The leak is an official promotional image that shows the phone along with its key specs listed beside it. Just like the first leaked promotional poster, this is also from 91 Mobiles.

The Vivo V15 Pro isn’t a flagship phone and that is because of its processor which according to the poster is the Snapdragon 675 processor. The Snapdragon 675 was announced last year and is yet to appear in any phone. The Redmi Note 7 Pro which is scheduled to launch after the Spring Festival holidays has been rumored to come with the new chipset. Meizu’s Note 9 is also expected to have it under its hood.

The Snapdragon 675 is an 11nm octa-core processor with eight Kryo 460 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It also has an Adreno 612 GPU and the same Hexagon 685 DSP present in the Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 845 mobile platforms. The processor will be paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage but we expect it to come in other configurations too.

The poster reveals the Vivo V15 Pro will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a Super AMOLED display. The display won’t have a notch or a punch hole since Vivo has included a pop-up selfie camera like that of the Vivo NEX. However, the selfie camera slides out from the right and not the left like on the NEX.

Vivo isn’t holding back with the cameras. The selfie camera is a 32MP sensor while the rear is home to a triple camera setup made up of a 48MP primary sensor and an additional 8MP and 5MP sensors.

The Vivo V15 Pro is expected to feature a pop-up camera and an innovative design style that would see the device come in almost bezel-less. An official-looking promotional poster has now leaked online showing the phone from all angles.

The poster captures both the front and rear aspects of the device and of particular interest is the popup front camera on top of the display just like that of the Vivo Nex. The front design looks like the Vivo Nex, just that the V15 Pro will be cheaper.

The rear design includes a vertically aligned triple rear camera setup with the LED flash embedded in between the first two sensors. There is no rear fingerprint sensor which means the device will have an in-display fingerprint sensor.  Another thing we can pick up from the renders is that the device will have an ultra-slim frame.

For specs, the Vivo V15 Pro is expected to pack a Snapdragon 710 chipset but there is no concrete evidence available on it yet. Pre-booking in India is expected to on February 15 but the exact price is yet to be announced. The Vivo V15 Pro is expected to arrive in India within Rs. 25,000 (~$350) and Rs. 30,000 (~$420).

Vivo India has sent out media invites to confirm that it will be unleashing something new on Feb. 20. Previous leaks have claimed that Vivo India may launch the Vivo V15 Pro by the end of February. Hence, it appears that the company is all set to debut the Vivo V15 series which includes the Vivo 15 and Vivo V15 Pro handsets in India on Feb. 20.

Vivo India has recently discontinued the Snapdragon 845 powered Vivo NEX flagship phone that came with a pop-up selfie camera. The probable reason behind it is that the company is soon going to launch the comparatively cheaper Vivo V15 series with pop-up selfie camera. The media invite shown below clearly shows that the phone launching on Feb. 20 has a pop-up front camera.

The inclusion of pop-up front camera on the Vivo V15 series suggests that the Vivo V15 and Vivo V15 Pro smartphones will be arriving with notch-less AMOLED screens. Previous reports have claimed that both smartphones will be equipped with in-display fingerprint scanners.

The Vivo V15 Pro is rumored to arrive as the first V-series phone from the company with triple rear cameras. It is speculated to include 32-megapixel lens as the primary sensor. The Vivo V15 is also expected to feature the same camera lens on its rear. However, there is no confirmation on whether it will be featuring a dual camera setup or triple camera setup.

The rumor mill is gradually revealing features of the Vivo V15 Pro smartphone that it speculated to go official in India in the coming month. Vivo China is also rumored to introduce its new X series smartphone in the home market. Last year, Vivo had launched the Vivo X21v and X21 UD smartphones in China. Later in September, it had released the Vivo X23 phone in the home country. The X23 Symphony Edition was made official in September last year. Hence, it appears that the arrival of the Vivo X25 smartphone may not be far away. The Chinese media is now speculating that the Vivo V15 Pro arriving in India in the coming month may go official as Vivo X25 in China.

During the weekend, case images of the upcoming Vivo V15 Pro had surfaced on one of the retailer sites in China. The image revealed that the V15 Pro would be equipped with a vertical triple camera setup at its top-left corner. The case images had also revealed that the device features a larger cutout at the right side of its top edge which suggested that the handset could be equipped with a pop-up selfie camera.

Leaked information that had surfaced around two weeks ago revealed that the upcoming OPPO’s R-series phone as well as Vivo’s X-series smartphone will come equipped with pop-up selfie camera. The R19 will be featuring its vertical rear camera setup at the top-center of the back panel and its pop-up selfie shooter will be placed at the center of its top edge. On the other side, the Vivo X25 will have the pop-up camera at the top-right corner of the upper side of the phone and its rear camera will be placed on the top-left corner of the aback panel. The arrangement of the cameras for the Vivo X25 matches with the leaked case images of the Vivo V15 Pro. Hence, it is speculated that the Vivo V15 Pro for India may debut as Vivo X25 in China.

A report by 91mobiles that was published at the end of the previous week had stated that a Vivo spokesperson had revealed that the company will be launching the Vivo V15 and Vivo V15 Pro as their next mid-range smartphones. The source also confirmed that the V15 and V15 Pro will have 32-megapixel primary sensors and they will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Vivo V15 could be priced between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000 whereas the Pro model may be priced Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 30,000. The Vivo V15 series phones are expected to go official by the end of February.

The Vivo NEX is known for its selfie camera which slides out the top of the device thanks to an electric motor. The design was Vivo’s solution to an all-screen device with “no-bezels”. Reports say Vivo will no longer sell the phone in India.

The NEX is imported into India but a source revealed to 91Mobiles that Vivo will no longer bring it into the country. Vivo is also planning to clear the remaining stock it has on its hands. Seeing as the NEX is less than a year old, it is surprising why Vivo has decided to stop selling it. Our guess is that it was probably not well-received as they expected. However, there are reports that it is because another pop-up selfie camera phone is on the way.

The second pop-up selfie camera phone is the Vivo V15 Pro, a successor to the Vivo V11 Pro. We do not expect the V15 Pro to be a flagship phone since its predecessor isn’t one. The V11 Pro does pack some high-end features such as a Super-AMOLED display and an in-display fingerprint scanner but it is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor which is a mid-range chipset.

The V15 Pro is expected to be powered by an upper mid-range processor such as the Snapdragon 670, Snapdragon 675 or even the Snapdragon 710 processor. So technically, its arrival should have no effect on the sales of the NEX.

The V15 Pro will come with a 32MP pop-up selfie camera, triple rear cameras and retain the audio jack according to reports.

Moreover, the case leak has revealed that the smartphone will be equipped with triple rear cameras and a pop-up selfie shooter.

The images of the Vivo V15 Pro’s case reveals that its top-left corner has an elongated vertical cutout which suggests that it could be equipped with triple rear cameras. When view from the front, the case has a slightly larger cutout at the right side which suggests that the V15 Pro will be equipped with a pop-up selfie like the Vivo NEX flagship phone from last year. Fresh information reveals that Vivo India may have discontinued the Vivo NEX to make way for the cheaper V15 Pro smartphone with pop-up selfie shooter.

There is no fingerprint reader on the backside of the Vivo V15 Pro. Hence, it can be said that the phone will be featuring an in-screen fingerprint scanner like the V11 Pro. The right edge of the case has a single cutout which may belong for the power key. The left edges have cutouts placed together and there is another one towards the bottom of the same edge.

The Vivo V15 Pro appears like a promising smartphone in terms of design and features. However, there is no information on its specifications. Since it is tipped to debut next month, the rumor mill may leak more details on it in the coming weeks. The smartphone is expected be priced Rs. 26,000 and Rs. 30,000.

The exact name of the V11 Pro’s successor is not known yet, but the smartphone is tipped to debut in February. Citing information acquired from people who are familiar with the news surrounding the V11 Pro’s successor, BGR India has revealed that the Vivo V11 Pro will be arriving with a pop-up selfie camera feature like the Vivo NEX flagship phone.

Probably, the successor phone could be called Vivo V13 Pro or Vivo V15 Pro. Sibling brand OPPO had skipped the R13 moniker and had directly launched R15 series after the R11 phones. Hence, there is a possibility that Vivo too may skip the 13 number is considered unlucky in some countries. Hence, there is a possibility that the Vivo 11 Pro’s successor may break cover as Vivo 15 Pro.

Coming back to the main story, the inclusion of the pop-up selfie camera on the alleged V15 Pro suggests that the smartphone will also feature a notch-less display like the Vivo NEX smartphone. Since the V11 Pro handset comes with in-display fingerprint scanner, Vivo will make the same feature available on its successor edition.

There is no information available on the specifications of the alleged Vivo V15 Pro. As far as pricing is concerned, the handset is expected to cost higher than Rs. 25,990 which was the launch price of the V11 Pro.

For photography, there is 12-megapixel + 5-megapiel dual camera setup on the rear and a frontal shooter of 25-megapixel.
